Dr. Carroll has a very nice receptionist that answer the phone. she inform me of a seminar on the 25th of August along with other information due to the first office visit. A good staff is what make a doctor worth using.

How do I get my insurance to Pay. I have United Health Insurance. I went to a meetting with Dr. Martin in Hot Springs. That was a Joke. All there was was bunch of old ladies that wanted to find out if their medicare paid for the surgery. After I made my appointment Dr. Martin cancelled me becuase after I took the day off work saying she needed to get my insurance paper work together. After I faxed her everything the she needed she canclled my second appointment and said if I want to talk to her it will cost me $200 what is that?

Is there anyone in MS that can give me information on Dr. Vick and his Lapband procedures.

Hello all, I have pre op on Tues, Aug 4th with Dr Juarez and surgery on the 10th! I am so excited! Dr Juarez is so nice and informative and his office staff are the nicest people! Very friendly and effecient. I am a self pay so I dont have info on insurance stuff.

how do I get started? I would like to see if I can be approved for this surgery?

I was banded on 11/20/08 in Columbia, SC. I have now moved to Atlanta, GA. I am having a hard time finding a surgeon who is taking transfer patients. The few that I have found want me to pay way too much $$$$. Can any one help me??????

I had my surgery Dec. 22, 2008 by Dr. Farhan and am very happy with the process and results. I would highly recommend him to anyone considering surgery in this area!

He is awesome. He did my mom Bypass 8 years ago and did my Lapband in 07/08. The only issue is the long office wait I think they double book him or something. So office wait stinks but as a Dr he is awesome.

I am considering banding with Dr. Verboonen in Tijuana in November. My husband is VERY concerned about going to Tijuana, but not so much concerned about Cancun or Cabo. I will be in Southern CA anyway and would like to just do it in Tijuana. What do you think? I feel that US hospitals and docs are way too expensive and am not afraid to go to Mexico. Maybe it's just that I want it so bad!!!LOL

I am reading a lot about different prices of lapband surgeries in Mexico and realize that I paid Belite 1450 for arranging my lapband surgery. That is pretty pricey. I noticed they represent another set of doctors now. I am very pleased with my results but am kinda pissed of the overpricing.

I was just banded on April 14, 2009 in Mexico (Tijuana) by Doctor Pompa. My family thought I was crazy. They thought that either I was going to end up dead on the operating table or kidnapped by the locals. NOT SO. I had nothing short of an excellent experience. It is interesting that the doctors can be sooo young there. I honestly thought they were not being honest when they say they are doctors, but as it is they go to med school directly and only do a one year residency. I am SOOO impressed with Dr. Pompa. Dr Murr did my surgery and it was also my first surgery of any kind. Boy was I nervous! Everything went great and I really only have one scar. You can hardly see it unless you look very close. I had a two incision procedure but the other incision is just a dot. Very good experience overall. Dr Murr is very kind and has great Dr manners. Listens to your questions and doesn't make you feel like he is too busy to deal with you.

Dr. Lee Trotter was my surgeon and I am so thankful when it came for me to finally get weight loss surgery he was the one to do it. After a long battle with my insurance company and not getting approved, my husband and I were able to come up with the funds for me to have surgery. I went to Holy Family Hospital for a seminar that Dr. Trotter was doing about the WLL surgeries he performs. Does any1 know what happened to Dr. Salimitari. I went to the office the other day for my adjustment and he was not there, instead this other person wanted to do my adjustment. It is ridicules, im not comfortable having some1 else do the adjustment for me, who does not even treat me with respect. Dr. Hamn has done good by me. The process has been easy. Had surgery on Monday and I'm doing good. We didn't talk about pain management, but he went ahead and install a pain pump. I don't know if that made a difference, but I can honestly say that my pain was minimal throughout my recovery. Granted, I'm only 3 days post-op. I might feel differently in a week or two about the pain, but for now, I'm good. I recommend Dr. Hamn if you live in Plano, TX. His partner is Dr. Cribbons. Ok, well I went to a seminar on Saturday with Dr. Benevides and really liked him. Today I called my OB/GYN to see what he thought and he recommended Dr. Hamn in Frisco. Says that several of his patients have had tremendous weight loss with Dr. Hamn, and that his facility is at the hospital in case something happens, which would be safer. He did not have an opinion on Benevides. I have read good things and bad regarding Hamn, like how he won't let you go to another "fill Dr", appointment issues, bedside manner issues, etc. And have not read any negative things about Benevides. I am sold on Dr. Aceves and am quite happy to go down there from So. Cal. to have this done, paying out of pocket. I checked with my husband's insurance carrier (HealthNet PPO) and apparently they are saying they will cover the sleeve if the doctor thinks it's medically necessary. In other words, just like they'll cover the band. It always has to be medically necessary for insurance to cover it. So my question to you all who have investigated this thoroughly, would you still go to Mexico (Dr. Aceves) for the sleeve if your insurance would pay? Keep in mind that my insurance won't pay every single penny of it - I'd probably still have about a $5K co-pay as that's the most …

Hi, I just recently found out about the lap band. I am 27 yrs. old, 250lbs. and I also have Hypothyroidism. I have been overweight all my life and it is really difficult for me to lose weight. I am currently living in Nicaragua as a missionary and I was thinking about getting banded in Costa Rica. It's not that far from me and I know it is a lot cheaper there. Hi Everyone, I'm still searching for a surgeon and I've narrowed it down to either Dr Turnquest or Dr Richard Collier. Other than expierence, after surgery support for fills and questions on new eating lifestyle is VERY important to me. Dr Turnquest seemed very down to earth and easy to talk to during his seminar. He answered all our questions and made sure we understood how HUGE of an effort on our part this would be and that this isn't an easy way out. I liked that he cared enough to be honest.
