I just wanted to give a heads up to the folks in Northern Virginia /So Md that Dr Robert Pinnar split from his son Eric. They used to have a practice together. Eric (son), sold his half of the practice to a big corporation and has moved to an office next door. Robert, stayed on his own and kept his long time PA Paul Marino (fill guy). Paul rocks! Both are good doc's. I am a patient of Dr. Robert who is in his 60's. OUTSTANDING SERVICE, great people and after care. I highly recommend him. The procedure at Reston hospital was fantastic. Hey there. I'm looking to have the Lap-Band done and am debating about who and where to go for it. I'm considering St. Vincent Charity Hospital with Dr. Ben-Meir, Parma Community General Hospital with Dr. Craig Eyman, or the Cleveland Clinic, not sure with who yet. I met with Dr. Haggerty on 10/9 and am currently undergoing all the tests and pre-op appointments such as nutrition, psy, and bloodwork. I was wondering if anyone else has seen Dr. Haggerty in Highland Park? Any if you have any advice on how to make the process go smoother? Thanks

Hi I had dr. pitt and I really liked him. If you are looking for a great surgeon to do your lap band in duluth I suggest to go and see him. He is very informative and he did an excellent job with my band. I am officially one year out from my surgery and have taken off 71 lbs. Dr. Dietrick and his staff are great, very friendly and were available to answer any questions I had. I am ALWAYS full of questions. Dr. D does things a bit differently than some of the other doctors I researched like not just having clear broth or Clear liquids the first week after surgery. I got to have actual Protein shakes which helped keep my energy up so I could get up and walk around right away. If you have any questions please feel free to email me.

Hi my name is tia. I had my surgery july 13 and live in detroit mi at the moment. I will be moving to butler al in november. Just wanting to know if the anyone knows of a surgeon that will take me on as a patient or that takes out of state patients for after care anywhere in alabama

During my visits I always felt that I was treated very well. The staff is amazing specially Bariatric Dietitian - Melissa Sullivan and Physician Assistant - Jason Reese. I would absolutely recommend this Dr. Barba to my family and friends. I felt my lap band surgery was an amazing success! BTW - They are also bi-lingual for any Spanish speaking patients.

I'm 2weeks into post operative, Stage II eating schedule. Having a rough time with nausea but no vomiting (thank God). I'm ready for any Stage eating schedule because I'm tired of the foods I'm supposed to eat. I'm trying to find other ways to prepare those same foods without cheating. Baby food is a total turnoff at this point. I must have suggestions as to how to perk up the foods on Stage II. And I'm totally turned off to Splenda, as by the evening, the after taste is overwhelming. Otherwise, stitches are good. No horrors there. I'm down 16 lbs. and looking good.

Hi- I have been studying, debating and going through all the inner turmoil of having the surgery. Been to support group - although I don't see them that well attended Thought I want band; but now I think I want to have sleeve. I'm just a big chicken - a little bit of knowledge is dangerous - I'm a nurse and can think of all the things that can go wrong - It's hard to get stats on post op complications etc. Anyone have surgery with Dr Tekata ? Dr Fuller? Is there anybody that regrets having had the the surgery? What's the worst post op complicaiton you have experienced - other than leakage

Another person on this site recommended I look into Dr. Chae, who works at Sky Ridge Medical Center in Denver, Colorado (in the Lone Tree area). I went to the weight loss seminar there on August 20th to learn about their bariatric program. My name was put on the list to be called to set up a consultation. Now it's been almost a month later and I have not received a call or anything. Is that normal? Do I need to call them? I've just started my six months of dieting, so is it even worth it to go in right now? If anyone has dealt with or is dealing with Dr. Chae, I would love some feedback! Thanks!

Hello fellow bandsters, I feel compelled to share my experience yesterday. Yesterday I had my first fill with Dr. Susan Brinkley. The procedure itself was uneventful. She numbs you which feels like a little sting and then she fills you. I didn't feel anything after the numbing. Now, if you are wondering why I am writing, I am writing becuase it was 'her' that was so different as well as the office. I had to drive nearly an hour for the appointment and it was worth every minute. The office is decorated with household furnishings, not the furniture you find in office catalogs. Nope it was the sort of furniture you would find in any country furniture store. Even …

Hello everyone. I am researching lap band surgeons because I have decided that I WILL get this done. I weigh enough but I am not sick enough for insurance to pay so I am on my own. I believe it was the July issue of Atlanta magazine...they had a section for their top docs. Dr. Sweeney was voted top Bariatric Surgeon. I went to his seminar and LOVED him, but, sadly, I'm self pay, and can't afford Emory.

I had my procedure done by Dr. Esquivel presidents day (Feb 16, 2009) of this year. So far I am feeling great, and have not had any complications. He was very nice, and had a pleasant disposition.

I went to NJ Bariatrics not knowing what type of bariatric surgery was right for me. I was banded in May 2008 and according to my scale have lost 80 lbs.
