  1. My surgery date is January 19th, coming so fast.... My second day on my liquid diet.... Today is much better than yesterday. Praying that everyone going into surgery has a safe journey and quick recovery.
  2. My surgery date is 01/19/09 sooooo excited!!! Good luck and let me know how everything goes. I know we all can do it. Just think of ourselves 6 months down the road. Thats what keeps me going.
  3. Yes!! I'm so excited, nervous, anxious all in one. I go for my Pre-Op visit on January the 4th and I'll find out my date for surgery that day. I'm going for the 21st of January. I don't want to mess this up , I've been going to appoinments and through insurance set backs for over a year. Thank God I finally got approved!!! I'll pray for everyone up here that we stick with it and go forward with our lives. Have you started your pre-op diet? What did it consist of? Keep me updated on what you go through and how you feel. Kharissa
  4. Congrats!!! What are you eating in the first weeks after surgery, and are you real hungry? I also wanted to know if after you began to loose weight did you notice in your clothes first or with the numbers.
  5. What type of eating changes did you make and do you have any sample menu plans that are easy to accompish with three kids? I'm excited and nervous that this will be my last chance at freedom.... as far as weight is concerned . Thanks for your help!
  6. I'm in East Hartford, Ct I'm with Dr. Papasavas. So far they're great! No real issues, just playing the waiting game. Wish me luck. How was it after surgery with saying no to sweets? I love sweets, and I'm trying to ween my self off. IT's extremely hard.
  7. My name is Kharissa, and I'm 26 years old as you all probally can see. I have three children and decided to have the lap band surgery. My first consultation visit is on August 19th 2008. I'm nervous and excited to get this part of my life started with. The first thing that I'm doing to start this out right is cutting back on my junk food. I hope this is a good way to start. I feel like I have to learn how to eat all over again and this I find to be the hardest part. Everyone is saying to me that you have to stop suddenly, but I find that changing the way the whole family eats is very slow process. Can anyone tell me the easiest way to start the whole family eating healthier that way when my operation gets approved I'll be ready.
