Does anyone have a recommendation for a surgeon in the NW Chicago suburbs?

HI there, I really wanted Dr. Billy to do my lap band. I have great insurance but they still wanted me to put up 3500.00 up front and then told I could get it back from my insurance co. after my op. I dont understand why you wanted me to put up money when my insurance would pay 100%. i went somewhere else had it done and was really happy and have lost 15 pds in 3 weeks. i am very disappointed with Dr Billys offince......

Hi All, I just wanted to post my surgery experience. I was banded by Dr. Steven Bonomo from Greenville, NC. The hospital is in Washington, NC though, only about a 40 minute drive from his office. The staff at the hospital couldn't have been more thorough and kind. I initally thought that I would stay overnight but found out only after my surgery that I would go home that same day when I was ready. Well the surgery was timely and I was up and out of the bed going to the bathroom only hours after recovery. I can't say that I remember seeing the Dr. after the surgery but there was no need to see him. The nurses were able to tell me everything I needed to know and the …

Hi everyone!!!!! New to this so please bear with me. I've been given a date of Dec 11, so I am nervous. I was researching for about 6 months, then the doctor had an opening and I said yes. I don't even know if i can lose the ten pounds pre op that he asked me to do, so I'm wondering if I'm setting myself up for failure. Exercise has been difficult, and I'm already wondering what bandster hell is gonna do to me. If anybody has felt this I'd really be greatful to hear your story. Thank you!!!!:Yawn:

I had the LAP-BAND® surgery done by Dr. Doru Georgescu from the Surgical Specialists in Thornton, Colorado in May of 2007. His professional staff quickly became like family. They are friendly, inviting and truly care about every patient. My life has drastically changed since having the surgery and I would definitely recommend it and Dr. G. to other patients considering the surgery! Hi, I wanted to find out if anyone on here has used Peachtree Surgical & Bariatrics Dr. Titus Duncan in Georgia? I have heard that some only saw Dr. Duncan for the initial visit, but that he didn't do their surgery? I believe I have to attend a seminar before making my first appointment. I guess this is to get all my paper work together to see if my insurance will pay or not. When I asked the office how long it would take to get my first appointment with the doctor, after attending the seminar, they said it was all up to the patient. I'm considering dr. Spivak for my lapband surgery. My BMI is 32 and I would like to get to a healthy BMI. I have recently lost 27 pounds with diet, exercise and and diet pills under a doctors care. I have been doing research concering the band for some years and I feel that the Band would be right tool for me. I have no health issues; other than just being fat. Looking great is not about being a size 4, it's really about how you feel. Therefore, I do not feel healthy being the size that I am. Anyone used Dr. Corrigan McBride of University of Nebraska Medical Center? Apparently, she has performed over 600 adjustable band procedures and is around $13,500 self-pay. Anyone have any personal experiences with this?

Hey - I am just starting a search for a good program - I live in Maine and would like to stay closer to home - but, hey - Im willing to travel for the right person. My insurance will help cover - but I have to go to a Centers of Excellence program. I am currently going to a program for GB, LB - but, after doing my research I think VS is the best choice for me. Unfortunately Dr. Urbandt is no longer in Monroeville. He is just in his West Penn Hospital office in the Bloomfield section of Pittsburgh. I went to him for a second opinion and then switched to him from my former doctor.

In December of 2008 I flew to Mexico and had my surgery done. I had to say that was a great experience. But living in Florida posed the challenge of finding a doctor who would take me and give me the aftercare I needed. After some search I found U.S.Bariatrics and Dr. Perez. I scheduled my first follow up back in January of '09. The staff there was great and Dr. Perez was excellent. Since I am a self pay patient the prices were reasonable and I have since been back for additional follow up appointments. I would recommend Dr. Perez if you are thinking about any bariatric surgery.

I need some help from anyone with information on San Antonio surgeons. John is putting in for a job at Lackland AFB, and we could be there as early as next spring. I'm considering surgery in St. Louis. I usually trust the Wash U doctors and Dr. Eagon looks great but I'm wondering - how long does it take to get an initial appointment and then how long for surgery? Is Des Peres a quicker option? But is it as good? Any experiences would be great. Thanks!

I know that there is another thread out here for Dr. Gonzalez, but that seems to have evolved into more of a discussion on the pros and cons of this doctor. While I absolutely agree that this is a necessary thread, I feel like those of us who have done our research and are comfortable with our personal decision don't really have a place to post anymore. There have been many outlandish statements made with absolutely not an ounce of truth nor documentation to show any possibility that these accusations could be possible. I really have to give big shout-out to Dr. Feiz and to make sure that everyone knows what a wonderful surgeon he is. If anyone is looking for the greatest lap-band surgeon within the greater Los Angeles area Dr. Feiz is the one you want to go to. I was going to get RYN several years ago and chickened out. Now after loosing and gaining back 100lbs, I am thinking of getting the band. Dr. Lackey has moved to an office behind the Lakeshore Mall. Also, my understanding is that he isn't operating in Sebring anymore, but I haven't confirmed that. Somebody just told me that, so take it with a grain of salt. I"m so glad that he did my surgery, it was one of the best things I ever did!!!

I was banded on Jan. 8,2009. By Dr.Patel. I had a great experence ,his is such a good Doctor and his staff is great also! They also have support groups twice a month.

I am so confused on what Dr to choose. They all seem qualified and have completed a lot of surgerys.
