Boston, MA Doctors?

Hi,

So I have been calling around trying to find a doctor in Boston. Mass general has a 4 month waiting period before you can even see the surgeon, and at Brigham and woman's you have to go to a seminar. Has anyone either gone through either of these hospitals and is there a quicker way? Or any other doctors to recommend?

Thanks,

Chloe

Hi Chloe,

This is actually my first post here. I am going through Brigham and Women's hospital (Dr. Vernon). I started the process over a year and half ago, but kept getting denied by my insurance. If I remember correctly, I went to the seminar there and was able to see Dr. Vernon within a month. After you visit with the surgeon, they set up appointments for you to get an upper GI and a psych exam. That all moved along pretty quickly for me. Be warned though that your insurance may require you to go through 6 months of weight loss classes. Brigham and Women's has a monthly class for you to attend if that is the case.

I get banded in about 2 weeks - I'm both excited and scared to death!

Good luck with your journey! I swear it goes by quickly (even if your insurance is a pain) :hurray:
