So I'm down from 231 to 176. I'm having a little stall and it's driving me crazy I just want to make to my first goal of 150. My surgery date was oct 21 2014 anyone else around the same time? I'm interested in how your weight loss has been progressing.

Having a debate with someone. I drink a Gold Standard whey Protein shake (24 or 27 grams of protein) every morning for Breakfast with 8oz unsweetened Almond milk, 1/2 banana & a tsp of Peanut Butter. I'm being told whey protein will make me gain weight because it builds muscle. I do about 30 minutes of cardio 3-4 times per week. What are your thoughts? Do you recommend a different protein? Banded on 10/15/13 and down 23 lbs. Had my second fill of 1.8 ccs 2/5/13. Total fill 6.8 ccs in my 11 band. Still not in green zone but stuck in Bandster Hell.

Been going for massages weekly to help with the lower back pain/sciatica. Got a really good masseuse today and gonna stick with her since she did such a great job. So I also told her my tailbone (which is not aligned particularly well) was bothering me and she started working on that area also. As she worked, she asked me if I used a pillow when I was sitting because I must need something to support the area since I have no body fat back there to pad me. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. The girl with the big bottom just heard someone tell her she literally wasn't a fatass anymore. Whoopee!

So I get discouraged all the time because ive lost 45 lbs and I feel like you cant even tell that ive lost the weight. Yes the major reason I got the surgery was to get healthy but lets all face it, we wanna look better too. Anyways last week I had my favorite pair of jeans on and the button popped off when I was adjusting and I had no other cleann jeans so I found a pair of jeans that I had put away before my surgery because they were extremely tight, well I put them on and they were so big I couldnt even wear then!! Seeing that made me so happy! Then today I was in the bathroom and my grandparents have one of those scales that only goes to a certain weight and I haven't…

I can't believe I am down 44 pounds since I started this journey, in Nov. I want to thank Someone for posting the recipe for Punkin Chili, and no you can not taste the punkin, you would never know it was there. What a healthy recipe. I had a hard time keeping my 50 yr old son out of it. I am not yet in love with my band, it is still to much like a diet to me. Put I will adjust.

My surgery date was July 18 2012. I am about 10 pounds shy of what the Dr said I would lose but about 40 from where I want to be. I've been stalled for a few months and was curious if anyone else has had that issue and how the fixed it to start losing again.

I am down 43lbs 211-168 in 3 months...day to day I struggle to see changes! My belly is not changing but everywhere else is, this is depressing bc while I am down a size or two I could be down more if I was proportionate! This leads me to feel like I'm stuck! I have been stalled for a few weeks losing very little(maybe 1-2lbs) but today I had an AHA moment when I saw this selfie! I have another 55lbs to lose but hurray for changes even if it's just my face

I never thought this would happen but one year and one month after my surgery I am four pounds below my goal weight. I never even thought the goal weight was doable! I have gone from a Size 22W pants to a 6P. I have so much more energy and work out with a personal trainer twice a week. I have to believe the working out has helped with the loose skin. I still have plenty of loose skin, but I'm sure it would be worse without the exercise! Good luck to everyone!

Hi everyone! I just wanted to post a few pictures of my progress since having been sleeved on 5/3/13. I know that there's someone reading this that's either considering surgery or already had it and are not where they wish they could be. I just want to say that it takes time, effort, dedication, and determination. I'd be lying if i said that i ate a ton of junk food since having been sleeved and lost all this weight. I lost this large amount of weight by working out and training like an athlete, eating clean, and staying hydrated. There were days where i cried, cheated, and gave up but ultimately, i got right back on track and continued. It hasn't been easy but it's de…

Yesterday, I went back for my six month visit to the biomedical research facility that is conducting a long term study on patients having lap band surgery. (Participating in the study is how I had my surgery and all follow up fills done for free.) My first NSV is that I lost seven inches around my waist. My second NSV is that my BP was 110/72. My third NSV was when I stopped on the way home to Dress Barn. I immediately walked in the store and turned to the left for the "Women's" sizes. A sales clerk approached me to ask if she could assist me. I said "No, I'm just looking around." She asked if I was shopping for myself or someone else. I responded, "For myself." She res…

Hi all, Although I spend most of my time over at MyFitnessPal, I still check in here on a regular basis. I am done purposely losing, and attempting maintenance, using the MyFitnessPal app and website. It's a HUGE reason behind my successful weight loss. I just finsihed the Whole30, where I lost my last 5 lbs and spent a month eating 100% clean- no dairy, grains, or legumes, just whole foods. Along the way I learned how to read labels. During maintenanceI am focusing on eating "clean", and following a mostly "paleo" diet, avoiding highly processed foods in favor of healthy fats, vegetables and fruit, lean meat, eggs, no artificial sweeteners, limited full fat dairy…

I've posted before about this, but with new folks on the forum all the time, I thought I'd mention it again. I'm not thin...I'm not slender. I wear a size 12/14 pant and mostly L (sometimes XL or M) tops. I'm still overweight per my BMI. But...what I am and how I feel is summed up in one word. NORMAL. I'm normal. I look like everyone else...I'm invisible but now in a good way. This is still new for me and I'm always amazed by the things so many people totally take for granted. I not only had all the room in the world sitting in an airplane seat recently, I even crossed my legs. OMG! I crossed my legs in an airplane seat. Amazing. People sit next to me now …

Four months ago today, I started my journey. Today I'm down 78 pounds. 33 more to go to my goal! Today when I stepped on the scale I made it to Onderland for the first time since I was in my teens. I've never felt better. This surgery part was easy.... Afterwards it is work, but thanks to boards like this I was prepared for it. Every day I think about what I'm putting in my mouth, what nutritional value it has, what my best choices are. Not wanting to eat junk all day has been liberating. Sugar was my big addiction, and I have very, very little in my diet. It has made an enormous difference. I'm fitting into normal size clothes12-16 depending on the store, style, et…

This might be TMI...but we all get excited about going down a clothing size, right? I've just purchased the smallest underwear I've been able to wear since about age 9 and a whopping 3 sizes since my surgery. Women, we KNOW that's a big difference. Woo hoo!

So it's been a little while since i hit the site but i wanted to swing past and up date you guys. I had my surgery Oct 9th 2013 and am 96 pounds down effective this morning. I remember wondering if this surgery was even for me, reading all the post and wondering if i really would be able to have the success that i wanted if i would ever really get this small well i can tell you this is the best decision of my life. I would post pictures but i refused to take them. I read a suggestion on here that i choose to do which was to buy a disposable camera and every month take a few photos of my self and then once a year is up to get them developed so i could see the difference. I…

So I have now had my lap and 13 months and I am down 134lbs...sooo happyyy!!! I would let people take pictures from the neck up for so long and now I get so excited and tell them to make sure they get my whole body. Wow how things have changed. I can see my collor bones which is crazy never seen them before. Its the little things that are starting to mean the most, like not weighing more then everyone in my family! Right now I weigh 244 I have never seen this weight. In 5th grade I weighed 230 and I did not weigh again until high school and was at 315!!! Getting the lap band was best choice I could have made. So many things have changed and contiune to do so.

Hi everyone. I have joined this forum because I have decided to have lap band surgery. I was hoping to hear from you about the challenges that you encountered and how you managed through the things that you weren't expecting. I have an appt with my doctor to begin the process and I'm just trying to get my head around the change I am about to encounter. Thank you for your insight.

I am sure there are threads on this, but couldn't find anything quickly, so thought I would start anew. I have read several success stories regarding pounds lost, but I was hoping some existing bandsters would share their success in inches.... In all my dieting, the scale moves much slower than inches lost, so I would love to hear the time line of losing your inches and how many, if you all would like to share... My surgery is coming up on Thursday.... :-)

We went to a fabulous wedding reception last night. There was an amazing array of food and then of course the cutting of the cake. I was handed a lovely slab and stood there with it for about ten minutes before finding a place to put the plate down. I had zero interest in that cake -- I just wasn't hungry. In fact I didn't eat much of anything all evening but did a lot of dancing instead. This really is a lifestyle change and I'm so happy to have the self-control the band is providing. I wasn't denying myself anything but I just didn't want it. This, for me, is huge.

I am so very happy today, I started this journey on the 21st March 2013 and today I reached my goal weight of 60kgs. I now look in the mirror every morning and I just love what I see.

I am so excited about the success I am having with the sleeve surgery. I am half way losing my excess weight. I was scared and doubtful having the sleeve ..whether I would be alive or lose weight post surgery. I had the lap band 7 years ago, and it did not work for me. The sleeve was so different. My hunger has really subsided ..I don't think about food much. Exercise has helped me with a stall I had for two weeks. I am enjoying food, but healthier and much, much less. I never thought I was a big ester be just liked sweets too much.. I think our society has forgotten what a decent serving pg size is to not gain weight. I was one of those people. I hardly eat out a…

As a quick recap, Besides my family, I only told two people about my surgery. But they ended up telling a lot of other people, so basically almost everyone I know now knows. Fortunately everyone has been very supportive, asking How I'm doing and congratulating me for doing this for myself. Well today I went in to get my nails done (the one girlie thing I do for myself ) and as soon as I walk in my nail tech says "you've got to tell me how you've lost so much weight and don't tell me it's exercise and diet 'cause that's crap" Well with a salon full of people, I tried to hum and haw around it awhile but finally told her about the surgery. She and another patron were int…

This has been a huge NSV week for me. 1. I ran down stairs to show my husband that I can wrap a towel round me and tuck it in. Woohoo! Did I mention I can run down stairs now too? 2. I can now fit into a size 10 jeans. OMG! 3. I can now walk on my treadmill for over an hour without stopping (3.5 mph). At the beginning of this journey I couldn't walk for more that 10 minutes at a slower pace. 4. I am no longer obese. My BMI is under 30. 5. Lastly while I was shopping at Christoper & Banks I found out I now fit into a SIZE 10! Then to my surprise the clerk approached me and asked if I would be interested in modeling their clothes at an upcoming event…

Last week, I made a post about my frustration with my weight loss (or lack thereof) and today I am still in the same boat. I only lost .4 pounds this week which is frustrating BUT I took my measurements today and I have lost 4 inches overall in the last 2 weeks. I attribute this to the hot yoga classes that I have been doing. It's a lot less frustrating seeing minimal weight loss on the scale when I know that I am losing fat but gaining muscle. To see my measurements and more information about my journey, visit my blog http://adventuresinlapbandland.blogspot.com/

I've lost 150lbs in 9 months! My start weight was 397 and currently weigh 243! I got 43lbs till I hit my goal weight! The weight loss has slowed down significantly but I'm still grinding everyday and eating healthy! Hope y'all are doing well also!

Hi my fellow sleevers. I don't post here often enough anymore but I get so much support and motivation here. I'm hoping this will give encouragement to someone who needs it. I was sleeved in May 2013. I have spent the last almost three months in a stall and bouncing up and down. Although I felt like giving up I didn't. I stuck with the program. Suddenly in the last ten days, eight pounds fell off putting me at a normal bmi. I have to admit I had started to believe this wouldn't happen. My doc set my goal at 170-177 (still overweight) so when I stalled for so long at about 166 I thought, well I guess that's it. I wasn't done and I'm still not done. I'm now 15…

I got my LB in March and was able to drop 50 lbs. But for the last 3-4 months I've been holding steady. I have 70 lbs to go and I'm beginning to feel discouraged. I have good restriction on my band and am careful to stay away from foods I shouldn't eat. My husband had LB surgery in April and is steadily loosing am average of 1 lb per week. Any suggestions?

I've been a bit down because my loss has slowed due to inactivity. Last month I sustained a stress fracture which had me on crutches for three weeks and, just as that was getting better, I slipped a disk in my back. Oh the pain! Even getting from the bed to the living room is more of a shuffle than a walk. But! These pics make me happy. And I know once my disk slides back into place, I'll be back to pushing my FitBit to the sky. Keep moving, everyone!
