I had surgery yesterday (sleeve) and have been freezing ever since - especially now that I am home? Has anyone else experienced this? Also, I live in Southern California so it’s definitely not the weather

I work as an orthopedic technician/surgical assistant. I am worried about going back to work and getting enough water. On surgery days we go back and forth between two rooms. No breaks. I am taking 4 weeks off.ni plan on bringing protein water with me on those days. Has anyone else had issues with this?

Are you following up with your surgeon annually for blood work or do you see your primary care doctor? My surgeon has me coming in every 6 to 8 months (I am 20 months post bypass) for blood work and to have an in person appointment. I met my goal at 6 months, have maintained, don't have any issues so I am not sure if it's really necessary to see the surgeon. I would also assume I just need annual labs done at this point.

So, I'm 3 months post op today and it's gone very well. I've tolerated everything I've eaten, and never threw up except the first couple days post op. I have had some times where maybe I took one bite too many and had a little discomfort, but nothing major. I actually just talked about this with my mom yesterday. I was wondering if I just got lucky or just really did chew well and eat slow enough. We were at my mom's all day. I was helping her clean and organize her basement and I can really lose track of time when I clean, so I hadn't eaten all day after breakfast. I was very hungry by the time we got food. We ordered Mexican. I got pork carnitas, which I thought would…

I’m newly sleeved (10/26) and just wondering if feeling nauseated is normal. I am not vomiting but do have a lot of gurgling going around in my stomach and a real sense of nausea. Still in fluid stage and trying to get protein down. Some days better than others. Could it be dehydration? Also, I’m still in some pain/discomfort on the right side incision where they pulled my stomach out. Is this normal? I find it difficult to bend over or twist at all. I thought it would be better 9 days out.

I had gastric sleeve May 28. Will have 6-month check up end of November. Just this week, I am shedding hair everywhere. But I have very fine hair but plenty of it. Don't see any bald spots. So not concerned and expected. My 3-month checkup blood work showed all vitamin levels and other tests perfect. I am just 9 lbs above clinic's goal weight with seven weeks until 6-month checkup. My post-op experience has been extremely smooth. No pain with eating. Always getting all my protein and water requirements without any issues. Eating normal food now with just one protein shake per day. Stats: 5'1", age 67, female. Highest weight: 245. BMI 41. Surgery Date: May 28, 2020. Weig…

Happy Sunday Everyone! Just wanted to get some advice and see if anyone has had a similar experience. I dumped tonight for the first time and man oh man was it unpleasant. Pretty much felt like my body evacuated all stored or working to pass BM’s. It was a wild experience. My stomach hurt suddenly so I went to the bathroom. Then my mouth started watering like I was about to vomit (thankfully that passed) I was wearing my apple watch and my heart rate spiked from 58 resting to 95bpm. I started shaking uncontrollably. such a strange experience. It has since passed but i’m worried it will happen again. 3 hours prior I had eaten a 1/3 of a banana. 1 hour prior I had high prot…

Hey there WLS family, Back in 2017 I had a sleeve done and then a roux-n-y conversion due to severe acid I was dealing with due to the sleeve. Since then I’ve dealt with ulcers every single year since. No matter the medications I’m on they always come back and they have left me in the hospital from just a couple of weeks to even 3-4 months on feeding tubes, and hydromorphone for the pain. Last year was probably the scariest of all the years as my ulcer began bleeding and left me have to get a transfusion only a week after being discharged and told I didn’t have any more ulcers. Due to these ulcers, I’ve been on long term disability now for two years. I’ve…

The only discomfort or pain i really feel 5 days post op is the incision where my Drain is. I'm pretty sure I get it out tomorrow. Has anyone else felt this, and does that go away after they take it out? Or do I need to suck it up a little while longer ?? Thanks

I'm 7 weeks post-op and am down almost 50lb. All of my clothes are too big (literally, from underwear & PJs to jeans & sweaters - nothing fits) and I've been buying things here & there so that I have stuff to wear to work, etc. My question is, what do I do with my TONS of old clothes that no longer fit? I don't have room to store them somewhere "just in case", and I almost feel bad about donating them or tossing them, because I still have that little devil in the back of my head saying "You never know! You might fail & be a fatty again!" I have a packed armoire, dresser & closet so I need to get rid of stuff to make room for new things. I don't have a…

I had my surgery on the 29th October. Im feeling so great and feel light. Best advice is to walk and walk in hospital, to get rid of gas, my only discomfort at start. I weighted 101kg and am now on day 3 and weight 96kg. Its good to weight once a week, so thats my goal mark. Drinking my fluids sip by sip, and vitamins, fiber in my fluids. Looking foward to seeing the progress, so exciting

Hi all. I'm new here and still in the pre-op stage. With that said, has anyone skipped the puree stage? The idea of eating pureed foods makes my stomach turn. I have a major aversion to certain foods textures, I don't like cottage cheese or mashed potatoes for that reason and highly doubt I'm going to blend up some chicken and veggies and be ok with it. I'm almost certain I will gag and they will come back up. I'm wondering if I can do the liquid stage a bit longer. I know this is a question for my Dr but until then, does anyone have experience with this?

I'm still pre-op, on my pre-op diet currently, and I'm trying to practice habits I'll need for after (drinking water in sips instead of gulps is the hardest. I love water and am a gulper). One is eating food very slowly, with pauses... Thing is, stuff gets either cold if it's a hot food, or warm if it's a cold food. I dunno about you, but cold scrambled eggs are gross to me, for example. What are the best ways you've found to combat this issue?

Hey everyone! I am about two months post op with my surgery date having been 08/31. I had the gastric sleeve surgery and on the date of surgery I was 358. Currently I am 330 and have been losing weight VERY slowly. My goal weight is 160-180 so I have quite a long way to go. Has anyone else experienced this? Are there any tips on how to ramp up the weight loss or any meal plans to help keep calories in check so I am not eating more than medically advised? Thank you

Ok so..... first off I apologize for my question. But I’m really curious..... it involves the lady parts post surgery so if you aren’t comfortable with it please leave the thread. Onto the question: did any of you have appearance changes in the lady parts post surgery? Like.... my lady part is plump.... will this change the more weight I lose? Did any one end up with like saggy skin there?

While at my 3 month appointment with surgeon we discussed the pain in my stomach and food texture intolerance. Doctor recommended a endoscopy, which I had done on Tuesday. Gastrojejunal anastomosis characterized by ulceration. So I have to be back on Prilosec (omeprazole). Everything else was pretty good, except for vitamin A levels being low, which I am ok with because it is an easy fix. At least I know where the tummy pain is coming from. ?

I am 11 weeks postop today, and have tried everything under the sun for nearly constant constipation?. Appt. with PCP this morning, gave me samples of Linzess to try—he is certain it will help. Has anyone else tried Linzess? I get in more than 64oz fluid daily, 60-70grams protein, soft vegetables and fruits, avg 800-900 cal daily. Walk 2-3 miles at least 5 mornings weekly, avoid cheese, ya di ya da. Last Sunday I was so blocked, drank an entire bottle of magnesium citrate and still nothing. It took a full dose of milk of mag that night to get anything going. Not healthy to continue on that way....thus trying Linzess. If anyone has postop experience with it, w…

I’m thrilled to have reached goal today! Coincidentally, it happened on the anniversary of my initial consult with my surgeon. I’m down 100lbs and feel lighter than air! Pics are below! For those that wonder about loose skin, yeah I gots it! I’m having PS to remove it, but I’ll take the loose skin over fat any day! Tried to show what I look like with clothes on, with shirt pulled up and with loose skin untucked out of my pants! LOL!

A fun NSV. While on a call with my Dr. yesterday to check on some other things, she took a couple minutes to update my official medical record. Under issues, I used to have super morbidly obese --- she deleted it Also, on the scale front, officially 20 lbs to goal (which will also be half of my previous weight).

Hello all. I have been browsing the forum for a while and been building up the courage to write what’s been going on to see if this is normal. Got a vertical sleeve 9/25. Today according to my doctor I would be on soft. The first few weeks of liquid weren’t bad but I was over pushing a few things nothing crazy. Long story short I have been trying different things like corned beef, tuna, refried beans, chicken lemon rice soup and I can’t eat anything. Everyday I feel sick every meal I feel like **** excuse my language I can’t get throughout the day without a nap. I started taking vitamins this bariatric ones but they taste nasty but they help sometimes but not …

So...prior to having Gastric Bypass, I heard stories of people losing 15lbs a week. I was 297 lbs on day of surgery (09.08.2020). Today I am 267. Im curious as to the whether this is normal. I was hoping for more. My surgeon, nutritionist and fitness coach have assured me that I am progressing well. However, when I get on this forum I see people who have lost much more. Thoughts? I am eating my protein. I walk about 6000 steps a day. I am optimistic as I write but I just want to make sure I am successful. On a happy note, I know that I am losing inches because my skinny jeans literally fell off the other day

Sherry McKenzie Surgery was almost 10 years ago. In the past year and a half, I've developed problems no one can answer. My bariatric surgeon no longer has the practice, so I'm not being followed by anyone unless a problem arises, then its my family practice who refers me out to various specialists who find nothing wrong. My issues are as follows: nausea daily sometimes more than once per day with or without food. Sometimes eating makes it worse. No appetite. Thought of eating makes me ill some days. Vomiting once in a while. Dizziness, ready to faint. Sweaty, like cold then hot flashes. Heart palpitations. Irritability. Fatigue. Female hormones and thyroid all…

Hello everyone! Had my bypass Monday Morning. Immediately waking up I felt awful because they had complications during surgery and I couldn't get on narcotics. However, after the happy drugs I started to progressively get better. But today (Thursday) I feel much worse. I am not getting much in protein and calories wise, I am lucky if it's more than a couple of ounces a day. I also haven't pooped since Saturday night. I originally chalked it up to not having anything in my stomach, but now I don't know... Any ideas or tips?

Hi everyone. I’m new to this forum. I just had RNY on Monday, and I’m having terrible gas pains. I did pass gas inthe hospital eventually, but now I’m home and it feels like it’s building up a lot. Hopefully this is someone normal and I don’t need to be as worried as I am yet. I’m happy to have found this community and I’m looking forward to learning and sharing experiences with everyone.
