Hello I am new to this site found by google as I was thinking I was having issues with the band I had the band for 5.5 yrs. I have lost about 70 ibs not much for 5 yrs. most was lost the first few weeks of placement. I had some issues 4 days after surg I ended up in the hospital due to gas outlet syndrome- all the gas from Surg was going to my stomach it was one of the 2ost painful things I experienced. Well they stuck a tube down my nose and sucked out the gas. 3 days in the hospital. Found out I had issues with morphine it is not a good pain med for me I then started having pains in my stomach. And dry heaving for about 20 min and the. Was fine for about a few hrs. …

It's been 10 weeks since my surgery and I am doing well. I do find myself wanting to eat the wrong things but I throw the thought out the window for now. I do realize if I take one bite too many oh boy I feel it. But I am so much more energetic and I love trying on new clothes. I am loving my sleeve.. I have added photos to my Gallery for anyone who wants to see the before and after. who would have thought 60 pounds would make such a difference. I love doing zumba and kick boxing classes and I am going to try fit boot camp.... Wish me luck... But I am trying to work this sleeve and not let it work me.. Good luck to all who is on the losing side as well as the ones going f…

I wandered if anyone could give me any information on to why they think this is?? Also, how does it make you feel afterwards, towards food I mean? My problem is with food is that while im busy all day I dont even think about food, then I come home from work about 8.00 in the evening, starving and want to stuff myself silly. And I remember complaining in June about my ins requiring a 6-month supervised weight loss plan.. I have to honestly say that without these last few months of consults and dr visits, I would probably be nuts and still totally oblivious to several things. Basically, this is my manifesto of sorts.... I've learned not everyone who has been supportive in your addiction, delusion, destructive behavior (in my case overeating) will support any decision that will encroach on the benefits they are receiving I don't have to depend on another person's validation, support or acknowledgement of my decisions about my life, yes, nice to have, but It's MY LIFE and I want a better o…

  9. Hello everyone and thank you for giving me so much help and inspiration as I start this journey. I am a 39 year old single mom of two kids (18 and 6). I divorced about 1.5 years ago and am just starting to now be happy again. I got the lap-band from Dr. Ortiz in TJ back in December of 2009. I have to admit that my head wasn't in the game. I hate the damn thing and am so tired of getting stuck and puking. Just started researching having the band removed and maybe getting bypass. That is when I came across all of the sleeve info. I researched docs. and since my insurance won't touch WL surgery with a 10 foot poll I chose to venture to Mexico again. This time I am…

I eat much more than 1 cup of food per meal although much less than I used to eat (!) I have not felt restriction. Don't ever want to get anything stuck or to vomit! I take a 30 minute walk 4 times a week. I feel great. I go for my 4th fill April 17. Not sure if I should get one since the weight is coming off slowly but surely. Total of 20.2 since start of pre-op and 7.4 since surgery. Bmi has gone from 37.2 to 34.6. I'm not sure if I would be considered a slow or fast loser, but I'm pretty happy with my results so far. Btw, I am a 26 yr old female, 6'2 & goal weight of 170-175.

Then, this morning, I got on the scale and it hadn't moved and I felt that little frustration monster whispering to me, just for a sec tho because I realized something. I thought about how many times I have been on a diet and fallen of the wagon, been unsuccessful, and given up. I thought about how many mornings I have woken up and felt disgusted with myself for what I ate the night before. I thought about how hopeless I felt about my future ability to lose. And I remembered all of the negative discourse in my head about what I failure I was. …

I am 22 years old and my husband and I have been trying for our second child for a year now, which is what made me decide to have this done. Its been very hard coming to terms with the fact that I cannot conceive for 18 months after the surgery. I think I am starting to become okay with it now, knowing that this will hopefully improve my chances of getting pregnant. Any advice would be awesome! Has anyone out there conceived after the surgery? If so, was it hard? And were you sick a lot? Thanks everyone!

I joined this forum 4 or 5 years ago, because I wanted to get the lap band. Unfortunately, I never got it because of insurance problems, so I gave up. My health and mobility has deteriorated since then and I really do feel the affects of being morbidly obese. Also, I'm a one of the many of Americans whose incomes has decreased over the past few years and I only work part time and have no insurance. Anyway, I'm back on here with a new plan to raise money to get the procedure. So I'm here to learn and stay motivated about finding a way to get the lap band.

When I made my initial visit to my surgeon's office, he gave me information about a support website calle RealizeMySuccess.com. It allows you to track you intake of calories and vital nutrients from the food you eat. It also allows you to track your weight lost and inches lost and present it in graph form. It is a great site, but sadly, I got notice yesterday that it will be shutting down on May 30. I would like to find a similar website that is user friendly and does what this one does. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am 21 lbs down as of this morning....I was hoping for more but have had a few stalls along the way My first stall was about 2 weeks after surgery but that was due to my period I think....I am trying not to step on a scale everyday, but find this to be more difficult than I thought. I guess its due to the excitement of seeing the scale actually move after years of it not budging. Just wanted to share my anniversay and small but huge to me success!
