Over the course of a few months now I have been reading many resources on the matter of post op lifestyle and one of the topics that intrigued me was on dating. Many WLS professionals (counselors, doctors etc) are rather adamant in their assertion that most patients should wait until after one year past their surgery date to consider dating again. It's been quite a while for me already so waiting until the one year mark ain't nothing but a thang. Hi there I'm a 34 year old single woman with Wanderlust who is currently living in Houston TX. I have many family members who have gone through WLS but none of them live in Texas. I'm 30 years old and I never really dated. I haven't had weight loss surgery, I'm trying to lose weight on my own without surgery and doing well. I've went from 470 to 430 in about two months. I live in Airway Heights, Washington. Distance should not matter too much in this day and age though. I would be willing to eventually relocate for the right person. I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with this website. I have not had a date in a very long time and feel that I am ready to start. You have to pay for a membership which for me would be about $30.00 a month but they guarantee that if you don't meet someone in 6 months that they will give you six months free. Hey all! So I'm a 31 year old, newly divorced, Mom of an amazing 2 year old boy. I'm a year post op VSG, down 102 pounds and only 9 pounds from goal. My ex husband also had VSG at the same time I did, lost a significant amount of weight and began an affair with a co-worker. I'm finding it to be difficult to adjust to life, not only adjusting to life in my new body but now also single. The prospect of dating is more than slightly terrifying. Online dating has been an adventure. I recently thought I had met someone truly compatible. After 2 months, he tells me (in a text, btw) that he thinks we should both move on. None of the reasons he gave made sense and I could tell he was holding something back. Finally, he typed the words "I have never been with a heavy woman." I was stunned as we had been intimate several times and he commented that it was the best ever in his life, etc. I have lost 15 lbs since we started dating and 82 lbs total. He knows about my surgery and that I am shrinking. While I know I will get over this, I feel defeated and frustrated.

So this guy I met on Bumble asked me to grab drinks next week (he said he was busy with work this week) and I said yes. Question is how do I go about this because i don't drink do to the surgery and just not really wanting to I didn't want to say "oh I don't drink, but..."
