  2. Have any of you run in to the rare "I think you are perfect the way you are physically" guy? Did you feel a little suspicious of him? Would he encourage you to gain weight? Thoughts?

  3. So...we know after time that we become comfortable in our relationships...whether married, dating, etc....and perhaps might not do as much to keep the spark going. Not our fault, just natural progression. Some people say that to keep someone interested in "the chase" - to ignore, taunt, act disinterested, etc. What are some of your ideas? What have you done successfully to keep the interest of the opposite sex? Has it changed pre-band vs. post-band?

So, I've 'met' this guy through an online dating service who is from my State but working out of the country for the next 9 months. We have not met face-to-face but he will be home for a 3 week holiday in a few days. We have not solidified plans to meet but have hinted to the opportunity. I'm sure it will happen - but after my dating experiences over the last 9 months, I'm not holding my breath!! Here's the deal - he mentioned that his last girlfriend had gained some weight and it frustrated him that she would not do anything about it. I have shared MANY photos from the last 5 months and I have repeatedly said that I was not thin but working on it. Part of me just wa…

  6. So, being reasonably young and in the dating world....I have had my fair share of interesting experiences and discussions amongst friends around the dinner/cocktail table. A very thought provoking question/statement was thrown out by a friend that is a bit older and has the non-adjustable band that they did about 17 years ago. *She was in the pioneering experimental group that had one of the first bandings in the US* The comment was..... When transforming through your losing process, you will start to notice people 'noticing' you....and not in a 'just a pretty face' sort of way. They notice you sexually and as a potential conquest. They may start to flirt, exude cha…

Im a little nervous...BUT! Im back out there in the game, looking for someone to have fun. This is taking a lot of courage on my behalf because of how badly I was burned in my last relationship. Im very excited, Im kinda into a guy now and I think he feels the same. IM WEARING CLOTHES FROM AEROPOSTALE AND RUE21 NOW!!!!YAY! I bought an XL dress at OldNavy where as I wouldnt have been able to find a DRESS to fit me there.....Anyways... With me moving soon Im not going to settle with one guy or anything, just going on little dates here and there and having a blast now that I have some confidence about myself! ...This is going to be an adventure....but a fun one! *…

I was just reading someones post about a Jerky boyfriend and i was just wondering if any of you single ladies..or men have tired them? I didnt want to at first but a friend convinced me. Low and behold I met my current boyfriend on one and i couldnt be happier! hes a peach! Of course now that most of us here are banded we might not be considered BBW for much longer ... but seriously it was one of the best things i ever did for myself in terms of self esteem and feeling good about how i looked and felt about myself (no matter what size). It made me realise that that not every man/woman wants an annorexic arm charm to love! I didnt have to pretend i was something i was…

Hi all. I have a small problem. I'm in a relatively new "dating" relationship (with someone I've known for about a year), and I'm starting to freak out. I'm feeling overwhelmed by the idea of telling (or not) about my band. This is a person who I really care about, and who I have known for a while, but I haven't told anyone about my band (except one friend who is a long, long ways away in miles; not even my family knows). My "boyfriend" for lack of a better term, saw my scars the other day, and he made mention of it... I said, I'd tell him about it another time. He knows that I was really sick about two months ago, so he said something like "that must be from your i…

Hello All, 1st, my pneumonia is getting better, slowly but surely...let's hope I'm better by next week. My question is: I was just asked out on a date for next week and this guy does not yet know I have been banded. I, of course, am still eating mushies and he wants to go to dinner. I'm thinking I can order Soup or something, but I'm trying to decide whether or not to tell him that I have the band. What if he keeps insisting that I order something else, or asks me if I want a taste of his food!? I don't want to be the girl in the SEINFELD episode that doesn't want to taste the apple pie and just sits there shaking her head like a crazy person!!! LOL!!! ~Pamela.

Lately my husband has come full circle with the marriage thing, so I've fallen in love all over. But I'm still envious of single gals at my age, because the excitement of new love is one of the best feelings in the world. My single girls here at LBT are dating after losing weight, and there's a recurring topic here about "should we tell the guy about our loss and the surgery?" For me, I'd test the guy awhile before telling him. I'd have to know that he thinks I'm desirable from the inside before discussing my outside. Kare, you are a stunning LBT model. From my end, you don't even look like you have a weight problem. I think we should have an LBT beauty contest b…

I couldn't find the other recent dating threads, and I'm still in recovery from a late night so I just decided to start another one. It was easier before I lost weight. Easier, not more enjoyable or fun or exciting. Easier. I didn't have to put myself out there- face rejection, have to reject someone else, or make an effort. I was too fat even for most of the guys who like the bigger girls. I knew this, and it was safe. Last night I went out with a couple of girl friends to our favorite bar. This bar is seriously magic for me. I never dance alone here. I saw this man from across the bar and felt....something. So my friends and I mingled our way over in his ge…

  13. So anywho, I was reading a post here about dating, which got me to thinking about dating after one has lost weight with the band. My story really quick, I'm single, have been in 1 major relationship (he left for unknown reasons, I guess I wasn't bitchy enough or something, too nice perhaps?). I have dated alot of men, and not really dated, ya know how that goes, actually I have never been on a real date. In this town it's unheard of. Anyway, I've lived in the same town for 28 years. It's a smaller town surrounded by other smaller towns, where everyone knows pretty much everyone. Okay, I figure, since I've been here all of my life, I'm pretty much not going to …

I just saw on the news: WWW.AIRTRODUCTIONS.COM It's a cute new dating service to hook people up that fly. Register at the site, and you can sit next to single people while you fly. So far there's only 700 members but growing every day. I think it's a fabulous idea on how to meet new people!

OK - candid question from a single girl!!! I am single and have lost about 26 pounds in the last 4 weeks since I was banded. I ran into this guy that I really like from my past and we have kinda started dating. He's an amazing guy and I know he would never judge me if I do tell him some day. However, I don't want to tell him - I've told noone! What do I tell him if he sees my scars when (before during or after) we have sex?? I have no clue what to say - they're looking really good and getting faint, but a couple of them are still a touch red and certaily noticable. HELP!!!!! i think we will be doing it this weekend... Thanks Jen 218/192/130 June 16th

I've lost 101 pounds since my banding 8 months ago. The other day my doc suggested I go to this class on how to meet people, why men and women are different etc. She thought i was ready for it physically. At first I thought, wow, wouldn't it be great to meet someone. I've never had anyone really special in my life and I'm 40 years old. I let my mind wander and have little daydreams. Everytime I went somewhere I imagined being there with someone else. Then after one week I've just freaked out. The reality of meeting someone set in. How do I explain the port? I feel like such a freak. I've still got weight to lose - about another 25 pounds. My thighs are awful and stre…

Ok, some background: I've had some really bad luck with men lately. My boyfriend of 3 years broke up with me in July, then I dated a couple guys here and there, then from October to early February I dated Shane, a man that I thought I might spend the rest of my life with...but he got a job in Texas (I live in Michigan), and moved there to take the Texas bar and be an assistant prosecuting attorney. So now here I am, trying to pick up the pieces. I was a wreck after Shane totally cut me off and left, but the past couple weeks I've been trying to get out there again. I went out with this guy 3 times and then suddenly he sent me the "I had a really great time hanging out…

Hi everyone, Sorry for being MIA for a while, too much has been going on. As some of you might remember, shortly after being banded in February, my port had flipped and I had to have another surgery to fix it. I'm a self pay so it took a while to coordinate al the details. My dr. is fabulous and worked out to do the correction at the surgical center, without charging me his fee. He filled me to 2cc at the time of the surgery. With that I had just a tiny bit of a restriction and the following week he brought me up to 2.5cc. I definitely understand the PBing, sliming and all of your other terminology now! Ouch, you learn your lesson pretty fast. So I'm back on track after…
