I have been contacted regarding a research study locally about GLP 1. I normally wouldn't consider it because it is very pricey. I have not had luck finding doctor to take me seriously, but I have had struggles with hypoglycemia even before I had my bariatric surgery (RNY). I live with a protein bar handy everywhere I go in case of emergency. Had anyone with PBH seen a different after using a GLP1. I had seen a few positive research studies but curious. All I know about the research study is that it will be a self-injection and they are studying different dosages. For all I know I might get placebo. I will be doing an intake questionnaire on Monday. Was hop…

Hi Everyone I had gastric sleeve surgery in 2019 and the result was amazing. Since then, I have been watching what I eat and how much I eat and when I eat. This self-discipline worked until in 2024 I lost my job through no fault of my own and on top of that there were family bereavements. With having lost my job along with it lost my home. Anyhow I'm now slowly getting back on track, but the hunger hormone ghrelin is raging havoc again and I'm beginning to pile the pounds on especially in the bloated stomach area. I have been to see the G.P and they prescribed multivitamins tablets along with a B12 injection every twelve weeks and had has also prescribed me 10 mg Citalo…

Hello, I just started Mounjaro!! I'm on Week 3 of 2.5mg and the appetite suppression is no joke! My doctor put me on this after stalling out at 80 pounds lost post op. Surgery March 2021, stopped losing March 2022 (but haven't gained). I'd like to hear about anyone else's experience so far, the weight loss has been slow, but I'm hopefully because the scale is finally moving again!!

Hi everyone again! Long venting sesh. Looking for support and advice. I'm back perusing the forums because I've been on a most frustrating journey to curb my regain. Unfortunately, life, life-ed and I went through a lot of stressors/changes and let the old maladaptive comfort eating cope slither back into my life. I am working on feelings of shame around my weight gain. I've gained about 25 lbs now and it's been a slow burn. I feel so embarrassed, so ashamed that I can't even talk about it with my family or my husband. It's pretty bad. I keep thinking "how did you get a gastric bypass and still have issues controlling what you eat?! What is wrong with you?" I know this …

What’s y’all’s take on the Wegovy pills? I know they assume they the same risks of thyroid cancer and such but I have to admit I have a Wegovy sample in my fridge I have been scared to do because of it being the shot more-so than the other things. Has anyone heard from someone who has taken them?

I lost over 100 pounds and then life hit me. I changed jobs, left my husband (long time coming) & moved out of our home/town. I moved back home until the divorce is final (hopefully around thanksgiving) and we sell our home. I found myself less interested in going to the gym and more interested in going out with friends and enjoying life. I have not gained anything in the past year but I also haven't lost a pound. I have recommitted myself to eating healthier (lower carbs, sugar and calories) as well as returning to the gym. I also looked into different GLP-1 injections to maybe help me get into the right mindset and attitude as well as help jump start my weight loss …

I have been on Wegovy for 6 months and have been on the highest dose for a month now. I have not had any side effects that I can tell, but I also haven't had any effects at all. No weight loss, food noise is still there and don't notice that I get full faster or less hungry. I asked my Dr about switching to Zepbound but my insurance won't cover it. Anybody else have this medication not do anything?

I'm a 40 y/o mom of 3. HW 265, GW 150, CW 142. Sleeved January 2023. I loss my first 90 lbs within 6 months of being sleeved and maintained for another 6 months (without quite getting to goal). Unfortunately, at the beginning of 2024 I had some health issues (unrelated to the sleeve) and had to have a total hysterectomy. I turned to my old comfort of eating and gained 20 lbs in 2 months. My appetite came back with a vengeance and my head hunger was getting the best of me. In a moment of panic, I seen my Dr and she prescribed Zepbound. OMG, where has this drug been my whole life?! I loss the 20 lbs. I gained plus the rest of the weight I needed to lose to get to goal …

Hello, I am new to Mounjaro. I have had my 1st injection 20 hours ago. I am wondering about everyone's experience with Mounjaro and Zepbound (same drug). My doctor started me at the .5 mg dose. The pharmacist told me not to leave the house, go on vacation or a family function??? How sick am I going to get. In the last 20 hours I experienced a mild headache. I am making sure that I am eating very small meals of bland food. So far, no major side effects. When did these side effects kick in for everyone? I am really wondering what is going to happen and when!

What's up, folks. I'm a 40-year-old guy who's finally admitting my diet has been complete trash for way too long. We're talking years of wings, pizza, and basically everything that tastes amazing but makes me feel terrible afterwards. I've been researching GLP-1 medications and I'm both curious and overwhelmed by all the options. My eating habits are pretty much what you'd expect from someone who thought fast food was a food group, but I'm hitting that age where I can't pretend my metabolism is still 25, and I'm sick of feeling like garbage all the time. I'm looking to connect with people who've been through this. Whether you're researching like me, …

I got down to within about 10 pounds of my goal weight a few years ago but slowly started inching back up. I have been on Wegovy for 8 months now and I've lost those 30 extra pounds and I'm staying consistent. I am one of those who were genuinely hungry ALL the time. Like not snacky hungry but really hungry. I have no idea how long I can stay on Wegovy but I'm on 1.7 right now and will increase to 2.4 if necessary. It is a total game changer for me. Im not plagued by constant hunger. I will say though, full disclosure I've felt sick to my stomach every single day while on this drug. I mean, every day! It's the price I'm willing to pay though to not constantly feel hu…

Morning, folks. I’ve received word from my insurance company lately and they just confirmed that they cannot cover the cost of ozempic for weight loss. I am left with no choice but to pay for it out of my own savings. If anyone could point me in the direction of where to find the cheapest hassle-free store online/physical, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Has anyone heard the latest podcast by Dr. Matthew Weiner who covers a lot about GLP-1’s? The episode discusses: “recent studies that debunk the myth of increased risk of suicide and highlight the positive impact these medications have on reducing depression, curbing alcohol and binge eating disorders, and slowing the progression of Parkinson’s”. I’m curious to see if they are soon approved to treat these conditions. May be more reasons for insurance to cover them, hopefully ?

Just asking others on their thoughts with Zepbound? Ive been on Zepbound since Feb 2024 and have lost more weight with this then my gastric sleeve surgery; however I can get the normal side effects nausea (its manageable) but I am really experiencing lots of hair loss! Anyone else losing their hair at a steady pace just like the weight loss? Im 56 so could be age induced as well and I have very fine hair anyway but even I am getting concerned with the amount I am losing especially on the top!

Hi everyone, Has anyone in the UK managed to get Mounjaro from any of the companies prescribing it after sleeve? The ones I’ve looked at say prev bariatric surgery means you’re not suitable. I’m 6 years out and finding it harder to keep the cravings at bay so weight has crept up a bit. My BMI is 35 so would qualify from that point of view.

It's been 5 years since my gastric bypass. Have done fairly well in staying in my safe zone. My goal weight was 170 initially although mentally I wanted to put 150. After starting at almost 400 lbs, I wanted to see if I could even hit 170 which I did. For 2 days about 2 years ago I briefly 'dipped' down to 167! LOL. Fast forward to 9 months ago, I hit a rough patch and went up to 180'ish. I knew some folks going to a local place that compounded their own semiglutide if I understood them correctly. After asking repeated questions about whether taking this would disrupt the supply to diabetics who needed the medicine, I decided to try it. I was never one of …

I don't know how to feel about this. Not because she's taking weight loss medications, but because she's taking these 2 together. I've done about 4 hours of research and 95% of what I read says NOT to take these 2 meds together. The other 5% is from people who take them together and have had excellent results. She gets the phentermine from her doctor and the tirzepatide from a compounding pharmacy (they mix it with sterile saline and not b12 or niacinamide). I don't think she's told either provider that she's taking them together, and I can't help feeling like there's a reason she's hiding it. I'm on here partly to vent because I've shown her the research and ex…

So during my online readings and searches I’ve pondered the thought of adding B-12 injections. My levels are low and lately I’ve just been sluggish and tired….all the time. Like consistent since my last bout of Covid about 6mo ago. anywho….I’ve come across this B12 + mic injections because if I can feel less sluggish and loose a few pounds, then why not. As a side note I’ve gained a few pounds from my lowest weight. Currently 147 @ 5’5….I’ve tried to convince myself it’s due to muscle gain ? but summer is coming and I’m being honest with myself. My workout schedule has gone from easily 6 days a week to maybe 4 on a good week. my work schedule has bee…

Expansion on the use of Semaglutide: “The popular weight-loss drug Wegovy, which has helped millions of Americans shed pounds, can now be used to reduce the risk of stroke, heart attacks and other serious cardiovascular problems in patients who are overweight or who have obesity, federal regulators said Friday. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved a label change requested by drugmaker Novo Nordisk that expands the use of semaglutide. The decision was based on the results of a study that found that Wegovy cut the risk of serious heart problems — including heart attack, stroke and heart-related deaths. Higher-weight patients with heart disease but n…

Unfortunately, I didn't see much weight loss (but I can also admit I didn't work as hard as I should). Anyways, the doctor just recently put me .25 of Wegovy and I was wondering if anyone out there has tried it and or switched from Saxenda to Wegovy?

A couple years ago I was prescribed Phentermine from a weight loss doctor/family physician. It worked wonders and did exactly what I needed it to do, lose the extra 15 pounds diet and exercise wouldn't work to lose. Sadly i gained some weight with this pandemic and would like to try Phentermine again, but the doctor retired and I'm not looking to see a huge weight loss clinic type setting. Was wondering if anyone knew of a doctor they could recommend in the Cherry Hill area that I could possibly use? Any info would be greatly appreciated, Sara

I tried to hide from the stall but it did not work. On week five I did exactly the same thing I had done the previous weeks that were successful for me and the stall found me. Although I did the same things the darn scale did not move one bit. I walked a little bit more on the treadmill and walked a little faster, I drank a little more water and it still did not move. I just have to believe all you folks who have been here and trust the process, this too shall pass and one day I will get up and do my routine and Sunday when I get on the scale I will see some progress.....right??? I was down to 284 before my first try at VSG but wasn't meant to be as Band had to come out first and took too long to remove for a safe VSG. So I knew I had to wait until after May this year for my Medicare and Supplemental was active. Well, I gained all that weight back. So 8/10/20 I contacted a health coach I knew from before and at 304 began a 3 month journey so I could have VSG by 11/30/20. By second week in November I was down 33lbs. I am now 1.2 lbs from 50 lost.

Due to a weird set of circumstances I have moved back to my home city (Brisbane, Australia) and am about to start a new job on Monday. As a result my Sleeve surgery is currently on hold until such time as I build up some personal leave from this new company to be able to take 2 weeks off to recover from the surgery. I also have a big final professional exam coming up in the middle of the year so really need to focus on that as well... so no WLS for me until July earliest. In the mean time I am going to go on the Diet Doctor program, I did the 2 week challenge a year or so ago and did lose about 5 kg in the 2 weeks.. that's about 11 pounds, Hubster also likes the f…

Not sure if anyone pays any attention to this forum but on the off chance someone does.. I was wondering if anyone has tried Phentermine as a weight loss tool and what their experiences with it were? I have a friend that has said if she knew about Phentermine before she had her VSG should wouldn't have had the procedure and just took her time using that product to lsoe the weight. I've read of the possible side effects and they are pretty unnerving.. though no more unnerving than the unknown of having surgery.
