I started 30 mg of Vyvanse on Monday I have to say I feel very well, day 1 headache day 2 had a bit of trouble sleeping I have more energy, no trembling or shakes or rapid heart beat, a bit thirsty but that is good thing for me, it will help with my lack of Water intake, bad taste in my mouth not dry just yuck. but not hungry at all had to force myself to eat something. the bad tast in my mouth could also be from the Protein drinks, have not binged in 3 days yay me

Do any of the Medicare Part D plans cover GLP-1 medications for weight loss? These meds are terribly expensive. Outrageous. What are folks who have Part D coverage co-paying for these meds? I've been told Victoza is cheaper, but less effective due to being a lower dosage.

The surgeons nurse called today and gave me my results. I have a stomach infection and it will be treated with antibiotics. It has to clear up or I can't have surgery. Anyone have this issue with their stomach? In process have mental evaluation and nutrition class. Hopefully not classes. But now this is slowing me down. At least be healthy and they can go forth with my surgery. I was reading from taking arthrites meds and could be caused by radiation. They found a spot on my breast so every 6mths I was being exposed to radiation. Also since I was 38 I have been taking Arthrites meds and I am now 54. Was thinking. I had the endoscopy and it showed some gastritis. Surgeon suggested to come of my arthritis meds. Now I am in so much pain, stiff and joints locking up. Now if I get the Gastric Sleeve I will have a smaller stomach so it maybe easy to damage by taking any arthrites meds. My arthrites could be real bad in July seeing an rheumatologist, then only solution is going be an inflammatory, which can't take. Can I get back on Prozac/fluoxetine capsules? I got off it after surgery 3 years ago but am feeling the need to get back on it. Wondering if the capsules are time released and might not be recommended. If not, do I need to request a pill if it is available?

My pre-op diet lists sugar free pudding. I bought some jello pudding mix. It calls for the addition of skim milk, but skim milk is not specifically liared on my diet. I assume it is ok as yoghurt and cottage ch÷ese are allowed. I'm going to try a recipe I found to make the cottage cheese more tasty- 2 c fat free cottage ch÷ese, 2 c skim milk, and a 6 serving box of fat free sugar free chocolate pudding in blender, then to fridge to set.

My doctor recommended that I continue taking phentermine after my surgery for at least 3 months then taper. She stated that people already taking phentermine do not loose as much weight if they stop taking immediately after surgery. therefor staying on it will optimize my weight lossHas anyone else received the same recommendation? Hello! I’m currently one week post-op for my gastric sleeve. I’m back on full liquids for another 2 weeks. My nutritionist and dietitian said I’m able to have high protein soups AND/OR “Low Fat cream soups reconstituted with milk” I’m one week post op and I’ve only been drinking water and protein since surgery so no yogurt or jello (which I’m able to have but that’s all I ate pre-op I can’t stomach it anymore) I’ve seen a lot of people on here suggest, low sodium, low fat cream of chicken or mushroom then adding skim milk to it. With this restriction what’s the best thing to eat for soups??

First, let me say I am just asking for your experiences, I fully intend to follow my doctor's schedule but I do not see her again for three weeks and I am curious how long weaning off medication will take. I take Phentermine one 15mg capsule each morning. What did your weaning schedule look like before surgery? I am working toward having WLS in September.

Im down 5 pounds... Since last tuesday. Yes soda doesnt taste good at all... I dont drink it.. I have an unquenchable thirst for water... Which is great i love water anyway.. At first i was kinda munching and it slowed down now im eatin one meal a day at dinner basically because thats when i remember to eat and by then im hungry... Im not n 50mgs i take at night before bedtime.. Now i know its for head aches funny enough i kinda been getting headaches but not severe n i think its cuz i have been under stress lately.. Has anyone ever had to do a medical weight loss program to prepare for their surgery? My surgeon's office suggested I start one. I know there are prescriptions involved but not much else.

My sleeve surgery is scheduled for Aug 18th. I'm a single mom of a 6 year old and want to teach him to have good eating habits and a healthy relationship with food. Hi, my name is Cassie and June 8th will be my one year anniversary of my gastric sleeve. I have lost 113 lbs. which is great. I was amazed by my success and how well I felt during the first 9 months. Weight just flew off and getting thyroid meds, I had no real problems. In the last 2 months, things have drastically changed. It took me 9 months to lose 100 lbs. but 2 months to lose only 13 more. I know there are "stalls" to deal with, but this has gone on for many weeks. The worst part, maybe because I'm not pleased with my slow loss, I have begun snacking and feeling VERY hungry. I am 2 1/2 years post op and I was at my goal of 170 one year ago. In the past year I have gained 30 lbs. - my mom was diagnosed with cancer then broke her hip. She's home with hospice and it's a day to day struggle. Every free moment I have I spend with her. I have been struggling with anemia and have a hard time exercising due to getting short of breath. I am just beside myself and I know people who have lost 20-30 pounds with this and I'm thinking this might help with my late night stress cravings.

It's not really supposed to be a diet drink as much as to help curb cravings. At a year out, I'm having a major issue with craving sweet things. I haven't been able to find anything that brings up red flags, but I'm still not sure if it's an ok thing to use. Has anyone had any experience using Plexus Slim?

so i went and saw my endocrinologist yesterday and she wants me on a medicine to control my weight. im already maxed out on topirimate because of migraines so originally she had me on trulicity once a week and oh my god that needle. it hurt like hell and the injection site was sore for a week and a half so yeah i just flat out stopped taking it. now i am on victoza and holy crap this is so much better the needle is thinner than the one i use to check my blood sugar. awesome

Anyone done it? Or is it a waste of time? I have books from a past membership.

I am surprised this medication hasn't been mentioned yet on here. First I want to mention, I have tried phentermine in the past and couldn't handle the jittery feeling or heart palpitations. I only used this for a short time, and I had to cut the pill in half because it was too strong for me. It is not paid by insurance. It is around $30.00 for a months supply and you need to see your physician every month to have your blood pressure and heart rate monitored. Now to get to the medication Bontril. I also used Bontril. It is usually prescribed 35mg tabs 3 times a day. I really liked this one because it did not give me the jittery…

Hi all, I am thrilled to be making the first post on this new forum! I take Victoza for diabetes 2 with one of the side effects being weight loss. It is a once daily subcutaneous shot in the stomach. You really can't feel it since the needles are sooo small. It comes in pens where you just dial out the dose. It is prescribed for diabetes mostly but I believe I have heard of doctors prescribing it for weight loss, but I am not sure on that. Yes, Victoza is someone effective for gradual weight loss and maintaining. It doesn't have the 'tension' that phentermine can give but phentermine is faster. Do they count as "Weight Loss Medications"? I researched and sourced injectable B Vitamins and have started self-injecting. I found a 'recipe' combining B6 and B12 in Dr. Bernstein style forum or blog and have been giving that a go. I'm not sure yet whether it is helping with my weight loss efforts. The scale did not move for me for about 3 months, and I still had a long way to go. And I've been avoiding the scale for quite some time. Anyone seen this before? My doctor a naturopath gave me this at our last appointment. It's an amino acid based therapy that is FDA approved so could be covered by insurance. This particular one is indicated for obesity and hypertension and chronic pain. The idea is that people who are in chronic pain like fibromyalgia and arthritis are depleted in the amino acids that trigger feelings of satiety because they are being upregulated for pain relief.....I'm trying it, I feel less hungry, but I'm still having the surgery.... curious if anyone had seen/heard of this before...
