I'm a 40 y/o mom of 3. HW 265, GW 150, CW 142. Sleeved January 2023.

I loss my first 90 lbs within 6 months of being sleeved and maintained for another 6 months (without quite getting to goal). Unfortunately, at the beginning of 2024 I had some health issues (unrelated to the sleeve) and had to have a total hysterectomy. I turned to my old comfort of eating and gained 20 lbs in 2 months. My appetite came back with a vengeance and my head hunger was getting the best of me. In a moment of panic, I seen my Dr and she prescribed Zepbound. OMG, where has this drug been my whole life?! I loss the 20 lbs. I gained plus the rest of the weight I needed to lose to get to goal weight within 5 months. Unlike the sleeve, Zepbound also helps with the head hunger which is an issue for A LOT of us. It's truly a miracle drug! I was on Ozempic pre-surgery for diabetes and it did NOTHING for weight loss so I didn't expect much from Zep but turned out pleasantly surprised. Despite severe constipation in the beginning, my side effects are minimal and manageable. I feel like Zepbound + my gastric sleeve was a match made in heaven. My health is the best it's been in 20+ years. Diabetes gone, fatty liver gone, triglycerides were high and are now in a normal range. My life no longer revolves around food and for once I feel "normal."

I maintain with 10mg every 10 days and it's been working perfectly.

My husband a type 2 diabetic also tried Ozempic for 6 months. He never lost a pound. This time around hes been on Mounjaro and hes flying with it. He is loosing 3lbs a week and has lost 28lbs all together. Find the right one for you and as you say these drugs are amazing. I hope he can loose another 28.

I have no doubt he will. It's truly a miracle drug.

I have been on Zepbound since Feb 2024, I have lost an additional 72 lbs while on this drug. More weight loss than my gastric sleeve. I lost about 52 lbs from that. I am on a higher dose now but have been steadily on it for the past 3 months without upping the dosage. It is not a dramatic loss but steady and Im good with that since I was at a complete stall of weight loss after the sleeve

Thats just wonderful to hear because bariatric surgery, unfortunatley does not work for everyone. You are getting there. Be proud you were brave enough to go and get the extra help

I hadn't visiting BP in a while. I had the VSG in 2013 and lost ~90 pounds. I had an abdominoplasty in 2021: Another great decision: My abdomen is so tight and flat! But due to some stress, I gained 20 pounds that I want to lose. I tried Ozempic; eh. I tried Mounjaro and I lost 10 pounds in a month, but it made me itch all over, plus constipation. I might try it again, though. Before the 20 pound regain, I was down to a size 10 [almost an 8!]; now I'm back to a good 12, and pushing into a 14 for some styles. Grr. Pray.

Hey there! First off, HUGE congrats on hitting your goal weight, that's absolutely amazing!

Your story really resonates with me. The whole hysterectomy throwing everything off track is so real, hormones really are no joke. I'm so glad you found the right combo with getting sleeved + Zepbound.

Are you doing anything specific now to manage your constipation, or did it resolve on its own? And also did your doctor have thoughts on why Ozempic didn't work for you initially, but Zepbound did? Maybe dosing, timing, or formulation differences?

My journey has been similar. Diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2014 and ended up on 4 meds that made me miserable. In 2018 I weighed 238# and was 65 yrs old. I got a sleeve and I lost 95# in 6 months. Diabetes went into remission. I was exercising alot and wore a size 6 at 143# althoughmy goal was 130#. Took off and traveled around the world for 14 months till covid forced me back home. Gyms were closed so I sat around being bored and started eating more. Went back to work and had stress from that...put on about 20#. This past April, the diabetes returned so I started on Mounjaro. What a game changer! I'm on 7.5mg, blood sugars normal again, and I've lost 27# in 3 months...almost to my goal. In order to keep the diabetes under control, I plan to stay on a very low dose as maintenance in the future. I'm back exercising again and into my old clothes. Life is better.

I've been taking Tirzepatide for a couple months now. I buy it as a lyophilized peptide and it's the absolute most cost-effective way to get it. No doctors, no prescriptions and no dealing with insurance. It's about half the cost of getting it through a provider of some sort. Now that Retatrutide is available to the general public, I am going to switch to that due to the triple agonist, which is Glucagon. Retatrutide is GLP/GIP/Glucagon whereas Tirzepatide is GLP/GIP only. In clinical trials, patients are losing 24% more weight compared to Tirzepatide.

I am a big fan of peptides but just be sure you're buying pure products that have been 3rd party tested and the company is reputable. I may use reta for maintenance when I get there but currently my diabetes and weight loss is doing fantastic on Mounjaro.

One caveat about reta...it has been noted by many users that it doesn't have very good appetite suppression and people are much hungrier and have more food noise. One solution seems to be stacking cagri (only need a little bit) with reta to help with the suppression and noise. Best wishes!

I've been using Zepbound since February 2026 and it's been awesome! I eat on a schedule, I'm never hungry, and I've lost 62 pounds so far.
