  7. I got down to within about 10 pounds of my goal weight a few years ago but slowly started inching back up. I have been on Wegovy for 8 months now and I've lost those 30 extra pounds and I'm staying consistent. I am one of those who were genuinely hungry ALL the time. Like not snacky hungry but really hungry. I have no idea how long I can stay on Wegovy but I'm on 1.7 right now and will increase to 2.4 if necessary. It is a total game changer for me. Im not plagued by constant hunger. I will say though, full disclosure I've felt sick to my stomach every single day while on this drug. I mean, every day! It's the price I'm willing to pay though to not constantly feel hungry and I'm likely going to weigh what I did in high school before summer is over. If you can handle feeling sick (nausea/diarrhea) then it's worth it. You have to be sure to hydrate and eat extra protein but I'm used to that anyway. I know a lot of people are scared of it but for me it's been worth it
  8. Ive had absolutely no problems
  9. I’ve determined that I absolutely cannot eat Ramen. (Ate it once before, made me feel sick) I have been laying here for over an hour with my mouth periodically watering because I feel like I’m gonna throw up. If I didn’t have a phobia over vomit I am sure that I definitely would have. I feel like I’m dying!! I have no problem eating any kind of pasta or other kinds of noodles but there’s just something about Ramen I can’t digest. Anyway this is definitely the closest I’ve come to puking since my surgery. What do you do for dumping?? I tried papaya enzymes, laying down, tums…. Nothing helps. Just wait it out? I feel like I never want to eat again!

  14. Im coming up on 2 years and have never gained any weight. I admit I havent done a lot of what some people do in terms of tracking, never eating pasta, rice etc. I do eat pretty much what I want but I dont like junk food or fried foods and I can only eat very small amounts of sugar. I feel like I havent gained because I never really considered this a diet, never radically altered the way I did things and just kinda try to stay healthy. I feel like some people get the surgery and go crazy eating the perfect protein diet, gallons of water and tracking every calorie. To me, that just wasnt sustainable. Im in this for the long haul. I guess I'm doing ok. 2 years ago I was a size 18 jeans and now I'm a size 8.
  15. I can only speak for myself and my experience. Recovery was not bad. I was extremely tired for about 4 months so I agree with the previous post that rest is essential. I remember binge watching Call the Midwife and a lot of shows I had on my list because I had NO energy. Just plan to have a lot of down time and take it easy. I read so much information that scared the crap out of me and none of it came true. 1. I never dumped or had food get stuck. Never puked (to this day) 2. I never got dehydrated. Water was not that hard to drink when I added limes or water additives. Hint water also went down very smoothly and I ordered several cases 3. I did go through a period of depression and most people do. You wonder what you did, how long will life be strange etc. Im about 1.5 years out and life seems really normal to me now. The only time I feel "altered" is when I eat at a BBQ or family event and I cant just have a hamburger and some sides. Its just the patty, cant really finish it and I cant have a bunch of beans and potato salad but other than that eating is pretty much the new normal 4. My hair did fall out more than usual but I never had major hair loss and it slowed down a little more than a year out To sum up...dont be scared!! They tell you all the terrible things that could happen because they kinda have to but dont expect those things to happen. Keep a positive outlook and you'll do fine
  16. I did They said everything looked "normal". From my own research I believe the problem is Leptin. They dont know why some people have too much or too little but having surgery most certainly didn't "remove the hunger hormones" as is sometimes reported. I was absolutely starving the first few days right after surgery and remained starving the entire 10 day liquid diet post op. Most people say after a 2-3 days on a liquid diet you lose your hunger but for me it was torture. I'd give anything not to be plagued by constant hunger
  17. Same here but my problem is that I'm hungry all the time. I think a lot of us have been snacking more since we're stuck at home but I'm legit hungry all day long. I have no idea what to do about it. I havent gained more than 1-2 pounds yet but I feel it on the horizon. Pants are getting tighter

  19. I don't dump at all. I can eat cookies, cake, whatever. I feel sick to my stomach if I overdo it but I dont get dumping syndrome. (RNY)
  20. What bad information>? This RNY was my first surgery and I have the same problem. Im hungry ALL the time.
  21. I have found it to be really uncommon. I have had no change in my appetite either and Im pretty much hungry all the time and have been since day one. Its pretty annoying but I guess it's better than everything making me sick. Everyone is just so different. You really cant predict the outcome as it's drastically different depending on a huge variety of factors.
  22. I have no idea how I've lost 90 pounds because Im hungry all the the time and I have been since day 1. I had them check my pouch and i did that swallow test where I had to eat/drink this semi solid jello like substance and I watched it slide right down into my intestines. So how am I losing weight? I have no idea but for me it's been VERY slow!!
  23. I wish I would have known that having gastric bypass really wasn't going to be anything like I thought it would be. My journey has been very different than the youtube videos I binged watched and it's been significantly easier than I thought. Easy is probably not the right word, but problem free. Basically I can eat anything, nothing makes me sick except maybe eggs and sometimes anything with too much oil like salmon. I have only experienced dumping in terms of a rapid heartbeat with upset stomach but NOTHING like I read about. I am almost 1.5 years out and have never thrown up, not once. I can eat steak, rice, pasta, bread, no problem. I just dont have any of the scary problems I read about. So if I would have known I would have done it 10 years ago!! I had severe acid reflux before the surgery and NONE after. So yes it's been the best thing I ever did for myself. As far as skin, sure you'll have saggy skin but it sure as hell beats being 100 pounds overweight.
