I am still on full liquids but I don't like drinking the protein. I got unflavored hoping to mix it with better tasting juices as I am extremly lactose intolerant, but its not working. I get nauseous just thinking about drinking it...are there other alternatives to get the 60grams of protein without drinking? like a chewable? please let me know.

So i was banded 4-23, and have had zero compl. I had a fill June 19, and that also went off without a hitch. Felt pretty good restriction, and have had no problems, the only thing I've not been doing is chewing well, but haven't had anything get stuck. Well, I went back Thurs. for a second fill, and he ended up saying no, b/c i had lost 4lbs. since June 19, and thought I was doing great, and didn't wanna overfill. Ok no biggie, I'll wait. So Friday night I wake up to aweful reflux, and this is like stabbing pain reflux, which i have had before banding, but I haven't had it at all since being banded. It lasted a few hours, which it never has before...so I'm getting a…

So it may be becasue I am in Bandster Hell and eating what I want and not seeing the end of the tunnel. I sit here and think how do these people lose the weight, if all it takes is the will power to eat right and eat the right foods then why couldn't this be done pre-surgery?!?!?!?!?!?!?! So then I think ok the band must really help alot, but what if you are a picky eater like I am, will I fail because I can't eat the "right" things. Or is the band really going to crack down on the portion control. Being in bandster hell has really got me depressed thinking this cannot work for me in in turn making feel like maybe I made a bad decision for myself. I go for my FIRST fill n…

Just curious if anyone has been feeling "anxious" shortly after surgery? I'm 2 weeks post op and have had this intense anxious feeling that comes and goes throughout the day - it's horrible. Makes my heart race and a nervousness goes through my entire body. I've been talking with my sister and she had an idea that perhaps because I can no longer "medicate" myself with food - I'm feeling anxious about not having that "tool" any longer. I haven't had any situations where I felt that I needed to gorge myself to feel better as I had in the past - but, perhaps she's right...just knowing that when that situation does come up - how will I now deal with it? Has anyone else…

I had my surgery done in frankfurt germany and he just kept saying to watch my portions. My question is will i know if im hurting my band? Like say stretching my pouch? or a slip? Has anyone had these things and noticed them? i figure i can eat about 2 cups of food, i think i should just eat 1 so im trying to limit myself because i don't want no problems. Hi, I was banded on Friday and I still have no hunger at all. I am still waiting for any gas to pass, no burps no nothing. My port site pulls when I get up, but other than the pain in my shoulder, I don't have much. Today I had 3 oz of Protein drink, 3 tsp yogurt, 1/2 popcycle and then another 3 oz of Protein Drink. I know this is not enough. I don't drink anything before I eat and I wait 1/2 hour after. It takes me almost 1 - 2 hours to drink the protein. Any suggestions on getting me moving? I know I should appreciate not being hungry right now, but the gas is awful. Thanks, Gilta

I dread doing this every night and I keep wondering if this is even safe for me to take them that way. The pharmacist hemmed & hahed about how if I should be doing this that way but the doc said so....!!! Anyone else have probs with taking cymbalta? Help?

I don't think I have too much fill because I still have an appetite and when food do go down I can eat quite a bit. Are there certain foods that I should stay away from or that will almost assuredly get stuck?:confused2: Thanks

One thing that disappointed me after banding is the huge amount of swelling in my belly. I mean, I look pregnant - I'm beginning teaching in the new school year in two weeks and the kids are definitely going to think I'm pregnant. How long did it take your swelling to go away? Did you use Spanx or something to minimize the look of it?

Yesterday I ate approximately 4 meals, and they were all frozen meals, nothing good for me! I just can't believe I am doing this to myself... right after I had the surgery I so desperately wanted and paid for just a lil over a month ago! HI, I just got my surgery on July 30 (Wed) and on Friday, I got out of bed the wrong way and did something to my stomach. I now feel like I have a burning sensation where my port is. Is this normal or did I pull some stitches? It's making me nervous because I thought I was moving right along with my healing until this happened. I also can't get rid of the gas and burping. I am starting to get depressed. My stomach says no to food but my mind is craving pizza and hamburgers. Can anyone help? Or at least comiserate?

I had my lapband surgery done in Feb. of this year. Everything has gone great, however this past week I have been uncomfortable. I used to be able to distinctly feel my port under one of my scars, but now i dont feel it anymore. My left ribs have been feeling like something is rubbing on them and my left side has felt irritated. Has anyone heard of their port moving?? Is it possible? I've been doing more exercise this week such as baseball which has involved more of my stomach muscles and twisting... I called my on-call doctor but no return call yet..

Hello everybody! I have a crazy question. Are blood clots common/probable after this surgery? I was just banded on 7/24/08, and was feeling fine for the most part. Then last night I had a short, slight cramping in my left calf, that went away after a few seconds. My legs and feet have also been swollen off and on (but not really today), which I was attributing to the high sodium in the chicken broth. But lying in bed last night it was scaring me to think about a clot going to my heart! I had the surgery in Mexico (self-pay) and do not have health coverage here right now. I didn't want to just go to a Dr. for 1 cramp, then have to pay a big bill for nothing, but I …

After my 4th fill I was at 7.1cc and waaay too tight. I threw up everything I ate. They had to take out .5, after they took it out, I felt like I had NO restriction. My dr. said it was due to the swelling as well as having some removed. After three weeks, they added back .25, but I still feel like there is no restriciton. The x-ray showed it easily flowing through. They girl who did the fill said that every three weeks I can come back for just tiny fills, to get it to where I need it. I am so frustrated. I haven't lost in almost a month and I still have very little restriciton. It is so hard since I still have the fat mentality. Humphhhhhh:(

How are people dealing with taking medications after the lapband. I was told I could not swallow anything larger than an aspirin. I have found ways to cut pills, and some can be prescribed as liquid. I have one large capsule that I take for leg cramps, it is quinine (extremely nasty tasting) and it does not desolve in liquid, I really can not see me having to get this down, even for the next few days. Does anyone else have a similiar situation, and what do you do. I am desperate to resolve this. I was banded 8 days ago, am 65 years old, and so far, so good. Yesterday I had some tuna for lunch and ever since, I have had pain after swallowing in my chest and back especially when I swallow liquids. It almost feels like it spasms. Does any of this sound like I could have got some of the tuna stuck? If so what do I do? I have gone to a clear liquid diet, but like I said it really hurts after I swallow, so I have just been sipping little little bits at a time. I also seem to have some gas with this now, which hurts when I burp. I am 1 mo. post op and haven't had a fill yet. I had been eating soft foods since week 2. Guess I'm not really sure what's going on, any ideas?

I'm still trying to find out when it's time to have my first fill. I'm going Monday to have it done. I've lost approximately 41 lbs. in 8 weeks, but I've really slowed down on the weight loss. I had meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, and brown gravy for dinner tonight and it was way too easy to eat, so I'm figuring it's time. I certainly don't want to quit losing weight. I have a goal to lose at least 101 lbs. and I still have 60 to go to reach that point. If I'm not happy with myself then, I'll try to keep losing. Has anyone reached their goal weight and if so, what all did you have you have to do it and what do you have to do to keep it off?

I had my surgery 4/15/08. I have lost close to 40 lbs. My ankle is NOW deciding to swell daily. When I wake up in the mornings, the swelling has gone down, BUT both feet are both so stiff that I can barely walk. I image its how a body stiffens up after death, to give an example. My heels and toes actually all of it is immobile. Has anyone else ever had this problem? The only time I ever had them swell even at 250 lbs was during 6 plus hour drives in the car. I ended up making an appt with a podiatrist on friday. (I have even taken a dieretic (sp) to see if that would help to no avail. And my choice of tennis shoes vs. flops makes no difference either.
