At what point are you NOT considered a Newbie to this forum? I read alot of posts/threads that point out the Newbies do alot of things they should not. Just wondering.

Help! I can't get into the thread "Calling All April Bandsters". Every time I click on it, I get a message that says 'The controller could not be found'. Can you look into it for me? Thanks! ~Carol

I have always been able to view the before and after pics up until yesterday. I checked all of my settings to no avail. The funny thing is I am still able to look at scar pictures but not the before and after pictures. It is saying that internet explorer cannot display the webpage. Can someone please help?

Hello! Not sure if some kind of setting was changed but apparently my signature went a bit weird (pointed out by another LBT member). It used to say "Dr. Woodhead, Delta BC" as in British Columbia and I guess for some reason the forums were assuming that stood for "birth control" and spelt it out long form instead so that it said "Dr. Woodhead, Delta Birth Control" yet when I looked at my signature in "Edit signature" it said "Delta BC" I'm almost positive it used to just say "Delta BC" when viewing posts so this has to be a relatively new thing... kind of a strange "autochange" in my opinion. Thanks!

I didn't realize I had any, my suggestion is something on the right side near private messages that says "New Visitor Messages". I feel bad now, since I just now noticed them.. woops. I guess now I'll be checking it, but would still be nice to have something over there that lets you know to look!

We've added quite a few features recently and you'll see some major additions in the very near future. I noticed B.......M........I.......... automatically converts to Body Mass Index now (re: signature below). Why? Can't even type it in a post anymore.. no other acronyms are spelled out, why is this one? :thumbup:

I have a quick question on the acronyms I am seeing here. What is PB, NSV and DH? There may be others but these seem to be recurring. Thanks, Mary:confused2:

I am having trouble uploading a profile picture. It keeps telling me it couldn't save the picture. Is my picture too big? I have been trying to make the picture small enough, I don't know what I am doing wrong. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Hi, I can't seem to turn off underline in my signature text. I see the U button is "pushed", but when I click on it, it doesn't toggle it off. Any suggestions?

Whats with the LapBandTalk ads taking of 2 pages at the start of the forums in Lap-Band Talk Community Center?? At first I though I was being redirected or the forums were hi-jacked. Can you please remove that?

There was some talk about whether or not we cared if our names came up on Google or other search engines. Alex had talked about changing something so lapbandtalk came up, but not individuals. People were discussing privacy issues.

Hello Alex, Mr. LapBandTalk.com! :thumbup: Just a small problem I've noticed . . . I like using the smilies, and there seems to be a problem with the "two thumbs up" smilie. When you click on it to put it into a post, it shows up as the "thumbup" guy with shades (you can see both smilies in the box below). Can you please fix the "two thumbs up" so it will display properly? Thank-you!

Angie4B1g posted a question on another thread about the lady (model) at the top of the home page which made me think about becoming a suggesturer... :huggie: Who is this lovely woman? Is she a random model, or is she a forum member? Suggestion: It would be interesting to have a photo of one of the LBT forum members who've reached goal at the top of the forum page... or maybe a rotation of members. I realize this might be a bit difficult as far as getting a professional photo of the members, however, it was just a thought. Thanks for letting me suggest. :w00t: Sheri

I am still pretty new to LBT but I have noticed one thing. There is a thread of Before and After pictures, I absolutly love this thread. Being a new bandster "Jan 3" I look at those pics for encouragement. I have noticed that lately the older pic pages are gone. I understand that there were so many posts,that they had to be thinned out and that not all of them were of pics. My suggestion is to get rid of all of the old posts that do not have pictures in them. Then leave all of the picture posts. I do not know if that is possible, but I would personally love it. I've been chatting with some teachers in a thread that had gotten pushed down the list for awhile and forgotten. We know that there are many banded teachers that have not seen this thread. Teachers face unique band concerns because of scheduling, requirements, and foods/eating times available to us. So we were wondering if there's any way we could have our own board, like under "special interest groups" or something. We'll deal with it no matter what your decision, just thought we'd throw it out there! Thanks!

Hi all, I joined this forum about a week ago and i love it! The only problem Im having is with the speed. I have a good connection and never have problems with speed of other forums or any other websites, but whenever i visit this forum it can take up to 5 minutes to open up a thread! im really enjoying this forum and really want to get stuck into it! but at the moment i can't. When I am in certain forums, I can't navigate back to the main forum page if I am visiting a thread. I have to click on HOME to get back to the main board. On this forum, if you scroll up back to the top and go higher than the thread title, you see LapBandTalk.com - Lap Band Forum > Lap-Band Talk Community Center > LBT Forum Suggestions, Feedback & Questions But on many other forums, you don't get this anymore.

Okay, I realize you have to make money somehow but the site is starting to look really crazy with advertisements. The one I'm really having trouble accepting or dealing with is where you now insert an advertisement after the first person adds a new thread and this advertisement is so big that it scrolls off the screen that there is anyone else who has responded to the thread-- you have to scroll past the advertisement to find the real stuff you want to read. I think this is a really intrusive form of advertising, much worse than banner ads at the top or right hand panel side of the web site. Hope you'll rethink this.

Hello Ya'll: I just joined the site today. I have pics of me on my computer, but I dont know how to transfer them from my computer to this site. I tried cutting and pasting them but all I got was that little "X" where my pics should be or a whole buncha text. :confused2: Any help would be beyond fantastic. Thanks a million. --BB

Would it be possible to add State sub-forums to the Insurance forum in addition to General (where you can add the existing posts) and non-US sub-forums? I believe having the sub-forums would be very beneficial to forum readers. Thanks.

Hello: Yeah..so..uhm..with your hepl I managed to figure out how to post pics here. But they came out HUGE. I am talking huuuuge. :crying: It is bad enough that I am as large as I am now.. but then to see me in apicture large enough tot ake up my ENTIRE monitor... :: faints :: Can someone tell me how to get my pics not to post so huge? Goodness. I thoroughly apologizes for all the retinal damage, psychological trauma, and all out making folks blind, crippled, and crazy when they viewed my pics. :: takes another look :: I am talking about gigantic me. oh my. can someone offer a little help?

there are a few posts/threads in a forum i like, that i dont want to show up when i click new threads. i know it used to be an option to ignore whole threads, could we get that back too? thanks much

Alex, I started the new thread when you closed the lower BMI old thread. I started it out as "I guess we got moved. " I guess I really didn't even think about the fact that it would be the title of the new thread. I think that's a bad title for a new thread. Are you able to change it so when people get their email notification of new posts in that thread, it says Lower BMI thread rather than "I guess we got moved?" If you could, that would really be awesome. Thanks for all you do here Alex. You rock!

Alex, There are some Christians on LBT, and it would be nice if we had a place where we could talk freely about that without being questioned and/or attacked. Even when our faith isn't being attacked, whenever someone tries to start a new thread for Christian bandsters, people of other faiths and/or no faith, feel the need to point them in the direction of other Christian based threads, as if we're not welcome to talk about it except in certain threads. So, my suggestion I guess is to have a sub-forum for Christian bandsters (and maybe for other faiths if there's any interest) where it's not up for debate, or argument. Pretty please??

I Have Been Trying For 2 Weeks To Update My Tickler, Has Anyone Else Had Trouble??

I was in the habit of clicking on the "most recent posts" link...or whatever it was called. I liked seeing the new posts without having to go to each forum. I can't seem to find the link anywhere. Am I blind or has it vanished? Take a look, let me know if I'm overlooking it. Thanks!

I'm having a very strange problem. The only way I can see the new skin is if I log out and just view things as a guest. The moment I log IN, the screen changes to the old skin. Thoughts?

Is there a problem with the site navigation? Every link I click on in my subscriptions is going to the same post about fills. And every forum I click on seems to be going to the same forum. I cleared my cache, logged off and back on and the problem still exists. I don't even know where this post is going to end up.

can we please have the new posts link back? that was the easiest way to keep up with what is going on!! i miss it terribly. also, is there a way to make my view not so BIG...the text is huge to me?

I haven't been around since the forum change so I apologize if this has already been asked. Why does it seem like many threads are stretched, requiring you to scroll left to right and back again? This happens on other forums when people post huge pics or have huge signatures but that doesn't seem to be the cause here. Do I need to change my setting in some way? Hi Alex, am i missing something? i used to be able to ignore a good chunk of posts in the "new threads", now when i click the new threads link you gave earlier, i have posts from Intro, General Questions, etc (threads I was previously ignoring.) how can i not get these threads to show up in new posts? thanks!

I love that you guys keep trying to make the forum more feature full and better for us. However, I am having trouble with this color scheme for some reason. It's much harder to read through the threads and differentiate between whose post is whose. I wonder if the colors can be tweaked a bit to make it easier to read? Maybe make the borders a bit darker?

Where's the ability to search for new posts and subscribed threads? It used to be one mouse click.
