Would it be possible for your monitors to notify an individual by private message the reason the post is being deleted. That should help the individual to be mindful of the subject of their posts. So many sites have different rules and/or enforced differently that it would be helpful to know reasons why a post was removed from site.

Logged in this morning and there's a new "Give Feedback" overlay in the bottom right of my screen. After a short time I got a full screen pop-up asking if I wanted to give feedback. I clicked yes, but then canceled...nothing says Lap Band Talk on it. I've looked all over this site and can't find an announcement about this, and I'm guessing there would have been. We recently got a virus just by clicking OUT of a pop-up (not from this site) that took us a long time and $$$ to fix two computers. Can you tell me if this is from LBT or not? I don't mind giving feedback, but I want to know from the administrators that it won't hurt my computer first. Thanks!

:cursing:I often, about 1/2 the days I try, have problems accessing this site. I'll get "Link Broken" or "Can't access site" messages, sometimes for long periods of time. This has been happening to me since last summer when I started here, but it's becoming more often and very annoying. Sometimes it knocks me off even when I move to another page. Tonight I couldn't access for hours. I was able to access every other site I wanted (and I clean out my history/cookies daily)...it's ONLY THIS SITE I have this problem with. Hi Alex, Lately when I click on the "New Posts" tab, it loads the pages squished to the left of my screen. This is everything within the green boarder. The page itself loads so that I have to scroll sideways to get to, say "Quick Links" and my "Welcome" box is just about completely off the page too. I don't know if I'm making any sense. Everything else loads just fine, each thread, subscribed threads page, etc. Just seems to be the 20 "New Posts" pages. Also, and I think it has to be with usage volume on LBT but sometimes Safari won't load the page and says it can't be found or some such thing. Oh and before posting tonight, I emptied out my cache and cookie …

Alex, I am having trouble getting to threads. I changed my setting to have more posts per page. Of course that slowed me way down. I changed it back to forum default, but it is still loading extremely slow as though it didn't really change back. Can you help me? It is taking several minutes to load a thread. I don't have a problem getting onto the site. Just a problem getting the threads to load. Thanks!

When I click on Quick Links and then click on subscribed threads, all of mine aren't showing up. It is only showing very old ones and none of the new ones I have subscribed to. Is anyone else having this problem?

How do people put things underneath their user names? For example, John249, and underneath, Banded. (I'm using a screenreader, so it seems like it's underneath to me. thank you. Debbie

Hi everyone, I just signed up to this site. I've found this site to be very informative. I am thinking about having the lap band surgery. I am going to my first seminar in a couple weeks from now. I do have a question though. After the surgery are there any side effects such as losing your hair? I know of a couple people who have had the gastric bypass and they have lost quite a bit of their hair due to not getting enough protien.

There used to be an indicator on posts made by the OP in a thread (I think it said Thread Starter, or something similar, in bold). Is that gone for good? I hope not; I found it very useful, especially in multi-page threads. Thanks, Marianne

It seems like I have a lot of trouble with not being able to access this site. I always go to other sites and have no problems, but about half of the time I get an error message when trying to get to this site. It just says the site is unavailable. Do others have this problem, or is it just me?

Many times when I am trying to calm a situation in a thread down or when I want to remind someone of no advertising etc. I refer them to the forum rules....I used to tell them they could find "forum rules" at the top of the page and they needed to review them. But that is gone------and I had a hard time finding them, even though I have a pretty good idea of the rules! Can we get an easier way to direct people to them again??? It is much easier when they can see them for themselves, it isn't like we are hiding them only to spring them when they disobey! LOL Kat

My email notification stopped working sometime yesterday afternoon.:grouphug: I am pretty sure that I am not alone.

Why don't new comments made to my blog show up under my user CP section-that's where I check for new things right? Or is there another place I'm missing...probably so, knowing me...LOL. I did get the notifications on my email, but I don't check my email that often so I've been missing things. I try to keep up with current blogs, but some comments were left on older ones. Thanks!

I don't get the Quick Links drop down menu when I click on it on the Home page. It works on the other pages, as far as I can tell. This has just started either today or yesterday.

New here, and brand new to blogging, but I've already noticed that lots of short specific questions, that should be in the Forums section get posted in new blogs (mainly by brand new members). Some get answered, but I think they'd get more answers if they were in Forums...so I'm feeling bad they don't get a response, and for some it's their very first post. I've noticed that the more experience bloggers also put questions as part of their journal, but they're more like "needing support" questions or affirmation, which works well there. I know I had no idea what a "Blog" was when I started...it might help to add something at the main Blog page that lets newbies like me …

I was a member and could no longer get my password to work. I tried to reset password for several weeks. Never got email with new password, so I have created new profile. Has anyone else had this experience. I could not find a way to get to a help desk or assistance of any kind. I didn't loose much weight during my several weeks away from here, so I guess this is my opportunity to start over new.

First, do we specify male/female when we register? If not, is there a feature we can activate that requires everyone to select a gender.. If so, is there a way to make powder Room/Men's Room gender only? Meaning, only if you are marked male/female you can go into the appropriate areas? I don't consider myself prude, but I general don't like to participate in some of the randy conversation in the Powder Room just because where I would be more candid with my lady friends, as a married woman I don't feel it'd be appropriate for men to see some of my responses. :biggrin:

Hi All: I've noticed a lot of you have added signatures from sparkle.com and other sites like that one. I'm trying to add "Notorious Novembers" to my signature, since my surgery is in November, and its not working....I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong!!! I created my new signature, copied the proper code, went to Edit Options, Signature, and tried to paste it in the proper place but I keep getting an error message! What am I doing wrong???? ok, i admit, i'm 'older' (37) but normally, my eyes are mostly fine... i've seen several new posts where the font is SO tiny i cant read it... i know one response was to me, but i couldnt read it cause it was really tiny... i copied and pasted and changed the text, but this is the font and size: it was this small and a huge paragraph

I need some help please. I need to change my goal weight on my ticker and can't fugure it out. I set my goal 40 lbs heavier than I really want it to be. When I created my ticker months ago right after banding I guess I felt I wouldn't make it 1/2 way to 170 much less anywhere near the 130 I really want my goal to be. I have been having trouble getting here all day. Is there something going on, or is it just me?

Noticed that posts from my Firefox browser (3.0.1 and newer) weren't retaining paragraphs, auto insert quotes, etc. Posts were also truncating after any instance of "<" as though it was being perceived as a code start, and emoticons were not translating. Tried in IE and it works just fine (including a copy/paste of the same exact post that didn't work in FF).

I noticed today that my emails no longer contain the data posted by the responder. I liked this feature because I don't want to necessarily look at every post, I read them in the email and decide when to respond. The Comprehensive Ignore System allows our members to ignore more than just another members text in a post. First, members can ignore entire threads. These threads will then not show up in searches, forumdisplay, and "new posts". Second, if a member puts someone on their ignored list, they stay ignored, meaning their threads will not show up in forum displays, searches, or "new posts". Members can ignore threads with certain tags. Members can select to ignore an entire forum, so that they no longer see it, nor do search results that are located in those forums show to the user. Members can review and remove ignores from their UserCP.

I think the ads have become obnoxious on the forum lately.. but I am able to look past it, I understand you have to make money somehow. But is there no monitoring of ads? I mean.. this gem keeps popping up-- I hate pizza, so doesn't mean all that much to me, but I can see someone here, crying about how hard the liquid diet is, or that mushies suck,etc.. and then WHAM.. Registered members can now personalize sticky threads that only they will see as stickied; these "personal stickies" will appear beneath normal sticky threads at the top of each forum.

When you click on the double thumbs up smilie, it posts this one instead: because they both have the same code in the database. Can you rename one? I like the double one better. :biggrin:

I am one of those who have to do the 6 mo diet before insurance will even look at me, I have looked all over this site, tried to post a couple times for support and people kinda just snub their noses like I don't need support! But guess what, this time is just as frustrating/hard/scary/difficult as just before being banded and post op! We should have an area that we can discuss our issues too!

How do you post to the forum and talk to the ladies and gents. What is the best way to start? I thought I did last week but apparently I did something wrong.
