Has anyone else found the IM system - called Personal Conversation here - seems pretty flaky. I've received several messages from folks here and I go to check them and get : [#10229] We could not determine which message you were attempting to view. I go the other route and directly enter the IM system and see the message headers but then they give me a similar error. Last week I had a couple of messages and looked at one, decided to delete it and BAM! ALL the messages were gone. Is there some sort of trick to this forums version of IM? BTW: If you've IM'd me and I've not responded please try again.

We've had several posts simply "disappear" in the Feb 2011 Bandster forum...also, posts will be cut off after only a few sentences. What's the dealie-O? This is getting really, really frustrating.

I havent been able to log into chat through VST or LBT in a few days. Are they down right now?

The way I was doing it no longer works...... the way it was explained in this old post http://www.lapbandtalk.com/topic/17414-how-to-attach-a-picture-to-a-post/ The paperclip is gone. I don't have an image URL. I have a pic on my computer. Someone please explain in terms like "posting a picture in a post for dummies."

I've been trying to change my avatar, and while my new avatar (the one where my head's painted over in blue) seems to upload just fine and shows up when you click on my profile, it doesn't show up on my posts - instead, the old one (with the red) shows up. I've tried it a few times and it still doesn't seem to work. My new avatar fits within the 90x90 200kb limits and is a jpg file, so I doubt it's something to do with the image itself. Help?

I was wondering if it was possible to block a member so that I cannot see their posts? I apologize if this information is posted somewhere, I've been looking off and on since yesterday and cannot find that option. If it isn't possible, would the moderators consider making it so? Thanks!

To Alex or anyone who has any kind of control over the website - I have been clicking on the new content button for the past 2 days and it keeps coming up with "Sorry, there is no new content to display". There is no way for me to see new content other than going through each sub forum individually. I love posting and contributing to LBT but I don't want to go through every forum individually. Is there a solution? I really like LBT but I'm thinking of finding a more user-friendly WLS forum. If anyone is paying attention to these concerns, I'd appreciate a response so at least I know someone knows about it and is/is not working on it.

I am trying to put all my post into my diary. I love posting here for the support, but I want to keep my thought in a seperate place for reflection. Is this possible? I am asking while I am newbie, so I will know if I need to copy and paste my post as I write them to save.

I would like to know why the web admins never respond to issues in this forum? Except for members to come here and gripe about things that are wrong, it seems nothing is ever resolved. How are we supposed to get things fixed? (I have an outstanding issue with my member title)

What happend to the IP format???

I was wondering how a new section gets added to lapband talk. There are at least 3 current threads either started by or about providing support for husbands, wives , partners and friends. The divorce rate is so high amoung bandsters and there really is no place on the net for this kind of support for our loved ones. If you could create a section where they could talk or ask questions i bet it would get active quite quickly. While some do participate in the general forums, having a specific space for them to create community might begin to address the high stress levels in our relationships. Thanks

Do you have any idea when you will be able to fix the chat to be more like it was? We had a whole roomful before the changes and the chat room has been completely dead since we got this new VST. I miss chatting with everyone and I am sure everyone else feels the same way. Please keep us updated!

when we got this new lay out, there used to be chat at the bottom of the screen There was an option to chat one on one with someone, or enter the chat room. The chat room was not the same as the chat room we had before the new board came along. Now there is not even an option to chat ! Are we getting chat back?

Hi, I've been getting a lot of "Personal Conversation" sent from people who have quoted my post and left a reply on a thread I posted. How is a personal conversation any different then someone just replying to a thread? Am I suppose to be writing theses people back? They don't say, and I don't know how to do that. How can I change my Member Title? I notice that there are various versions of member title for alot of users, but there is no where to change it in my profile.

I left a couple of comments against member's photos in the gallery, and both times got a msg saying a mod had to approve my comments before it would be published. It's been a week and the comments haven't appeared. How long does it take a mod to approve photo comments?

I haven't received any new updates through RSS since Nov. 23rd. Has something changed?

I know that I had put a story about my weightloss journey when I started on this site. When it was changed to the new site ( without any notice) of course now my journey is no longer on there! Are our stories somewhere else that I just cant find on this new site??? Has this happened to anyone else? Apart from the issues with the LBT that have already been pointed out there are a few more that I would like to raise. Previously I used to get email notifications when threads that I had posted in or subscribed to had new messages. This is no longer happening. I really don't have the time or the inclination to keep logging into the site and then trying to find out if there is anything new or not and where it is. Please bring back the email notifications as it is a far quicker and easier method of replying to threads that I am interested in. Has anyone else had problems not being able to sign into their account? I tried for over a week. I emailed Admin a couple times with no response. I tried to do a reset password and it said the user name is not known. I searched the forums and followed the instructions of deleting Cookies from my computer. Nothing has worked. Now I had to open another account with a different user name and email just to post and PM a admin which i still haven't heard back from. I am beyond frustrated. Anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix the problem so I can sign into my original account? Thanks.

I am not getting any email notifications of replies to my messages, despite setting them to "instant notification" in the user control panel. How can I fix this?

Um... I'm no longer able to get into the chat room. Is it still working? Last I was able to log into it was I believe Tuesday, maybe Wednesday... I do really really miss the chat room.

I tried to sign in today with my username and password and it said one of them was incorrect. When I tried to re-register, it said that email address was already used (yeah, by me) - so I had to register using a different email address. On some other Forums I visit, there is a link where I can see a list of links to posts I've made, or threads I've started. Is there anything like that here? If not, can we set up something like that? It'd be great to have that kind of option, so I can quickly get back to threads I'd like to revisit, without wading through all the others on the site. This site is so large, and is so busy, I often find it difficult to find posts I made a day or two earlier. Email notifications are not very useful, especially since I don't really care if my post is one of a hundred in a thread. This is driving me insane. It's taking forever for posts to load. when I want to repond to someone's post, I click on it and nothing happens. then I wait, and wait, and eventually it brings me to the post I clicked on. The ads load and load but the rest of the board is really slow. I liked the IP board. It had no ads and I didn't have the problems I am having wtih the pink and purlple board. But now the IP board is gone. The IP board wouldn't let us see the chat rooom though. Are you still working on getting the old chat room back? I have my band now for one month now and have had several times when I felt as if I needed to vomit....but I held it down for fear of pain and making the band slip off. after the fact I feel so horrible at least for a couple of hours. what happens if you do vomit or for example get a sickness that makes you vomit. Does it hurt and will my band slip off?

The ticker help tutorial does not work. When I paste the code into my signature, I get an error message that tells me to go to the help menu. I am doing it exactly like the instructions say to do it. I can't send any private messages because I get a pop up that says Undefined I am getting really frustrated here!

Hello, i am just about to start a thread with a link to a journal article i found and felt that actually i wish there were a specific area in this website where we could share the evidence based stuff (statistics, studies and articles) that we come across. There are many threads where people make statistical claims, and as someone who wants to have as many facts as possible before taking the step, thought it might be helpful to have an area on the site dedicated to various WLS research which showed sources as well as statistics. Is there a place on this site for spouses of banders to discuss stuff? My wife is getting all the prerequisites completed to have surgery later this year. I would be curious to here what other spouses (husband or wives) are doing to support their mate before/during/after they get banded. What positive/negative affects has the band had on their relationships? I would get value from this... Anyone else?

I keep trying to send a pm. I get a pop up that says undefined. Then I went to my profile and it said undefined. What does that mean? How do I change it? Also , my ticker disappeared and I can't find where I change my sig line and paste the code in to get my ticker back. Somebody help me!!!

the ads are taking up almost half of my screen.... most of the ads are repetitive... causing my computer to run slower as well... not at all well thought out... dissapointing

Hi All, I like the new design but have one small issues. On the top of the page where there are three different colored toolbars. The third one which is a light pink that starts off with "You are here" the pink is too light and makes it hard to read anything in that toolbar. Thanks

I use a desktop machine, regular notebook and rarely my netbook to get on here. When I use my netbook I can't see the topics or posts for all the advertisements. It specifically annoys me because I am one of the folks with a history of demonic Lap Bands and I don't want to see Buy a Lap Band now for 99 cents and get free installation! Is there any plans to offer a Premier Membership where the adverisements disapear? I now this place has to be paid for but this is getting annoying. Thanks.

When I click on the post title or even the icon 'go to first unread post', it always takes me to the last message. Is this going to be fixed? Its very frustrating. I either want to read from the top, or the true 'first unread post' Please help!

Click on the Attachments icon (the paperclip) located above the box where you enter text, just to the right of the white smiley face icon. That will open a "Manage Attachments" window. 3. When you go to your pms, I don't see a way to delete several at once. I don't see a box that you can check to delete a bunch of pms at once. I have been having to open the pm and then delete it. Is there going to be a spot to click on new posts? Also, we are all really unhappy with the new chat. There isn't a way to make the font bigger, or change the color. Is this the chat room we are going to be stuck with? There are a lot of us that really liked to chat in the evenings but I think the chat will just die a slow death if this is the chat we are stuck with .
