Just wanted to make everyone aware that we're working on our servers at the moment and we're aware of the technical issues some of our members have been having over the last few days. These issues should be corrected within the next few hours.

Before these changes to the board, there was an option, I believe under 'thread tools' to save a copy of a thread. I did this now and then, to one particular thread that contains ALOT of my posts/experiences/whatever. I save it, because if for some reason all was lost from this website, I'd still have that text file to look at to recall important events and dates.... I can't do that anymore, can I?!

Ok, I have been a member on here for over a year, but the new look is driving me nuts How can we get things off the main page when we load it. Like for example: the pictures of everyones albums? How do we get those ofF? I remember they use to have a link for you to go to peoples albums now they are right on the main page. Just asking.... :confused2:

Is there a tutorial somewhere, that tells you how to use this system? I'm having a hard time, and I am in the IT field.

Now that we have all these cool forums for surgeries other than lap band, will some of the forums get converted to be about more than lap band? For example, it would be great if "Lap band in the News" would be "WLS in the news".

Aare there any Hairstylist in their 40's that had Lap Band Surgery? If so how long was you recuperation time? How much do you work and how long is your day? I'm curious. Is it working for you?

Is anyone able to update their ticker? Mine looks a little funny and when I click on it, it won't take me to the "ticker page" to update my weight loss.

I went to update my ticker today but when I clicked on it, it only took me to a graphic image of the ticker in a new window, not to the Ticker Factory update page. I had to go into Edit Signatures, right-click on the ticker in the editing window (not on the display) and choose Open Link. Choosing Open Link from anywhere else, e.g. on a post I've made, just brings up the graphic. Also, I noticed that when I first go into Edit Signatures, the ticker displays in the preview at the right size but after about 1-2 seconds delay, it resizes itself a little bit smaller and the numbers don't display clearly any more. Hi there. I recently saved a blog entry as a draft and am unable to figure out how to retrieve it. Does anyone know how to do this? And is there a technical FAQ on this site? If not I hope they make one because I don't participate here as much as I'd like because things are so hard to move through. I supposed I've been spoiled by other forums. Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong forum but I can't find anywhere else more appropriate, nor do I see a way to contact the board administrator. For the last several days I've been having problems with the site -- I click on a link to a specific forum or a specific post, the page refreshes, and takes me right back where I was instead of taking me to the page I clicked the link for. This only started happening a few days ago. I've tried rebooting my computer, clearing my cookies & history, etc., but the problem persists. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing it, and if anyone knows how to contact the board administrator to advise them of the issue? Thanks…

Hi, I’ve tried twice to create a group for musicians and music lovers. The last time I did, I thought I had completed everything successfully, but my group never showed up in the social groups forum. What am I doing wrong?

What do you think about a subforum dedicated to mental health issues and how they are integrated with our lapband experiences? There's been a good thread on discussing medications & weightloss (LapBand strugglers area) and I thought we could probably expand on that. I've just noticed that so many of us struggle with depression, anxiety, bipolar, and panic disorders (just to name a few). Discussing and offering support to each other might illuminate our struggles and help us understand the totality of our experience with weight loss (and gain!). If there's already something that covers this adequately, please redirect me! Thanks.

Whenever I post a quick reply now the page never shows it coming up with the rest of the posts...i don't like this is it normal ? :ohmy: if you changed it let me know i dont like it not showing it though i have to goto the forum page goto the forum i was looking at then open it again to see what i put. i liked when it just came up after submitting

Tonight when I click on the Forums tab, the forums are badly skewed to the right. I've tried it on multiple machines. Anyone else seeing this?

What does the term "Rep Power" mean? It is located on the left side of each person's post, underneath their name, age, join date, number of posts, etc. I can't find an explanation anywhere. Thanks, Mary

Just wondering... So the males have a special forum for themselves... Why don't the females have a special forum where they can discuss things... Such as: Irregular periods. Bras bothering incisions. Breasts loosing firmness. ETC. There's a lot more things but I am just trying to make a point. Maybe we should have a forum specifically for us too, instead of us posting in all the main forums about things guys may not want to hear?:lol: Thanks.

I'd like to make a suggestion for a permanent thread. I am on a 6 month diet and a lot of people including me have asked about a specific place for us all to talk. I get lost trying to find where I posted LOL. Anyway take it into consideration. I'd appreciate it and I'm sure many others would too. Alex, I was wondering if you could merge the monthly forums for bandsters out a couple years. I love the monthly support groups for those that have been banded for the first 12-18 months but by the time you get to 2+ years so many have disappeard that the monthly groups get quite lonely. I'd rather there was just one forum category for all of 2005 where we could start a thread for all of us that were banded in 05 and are still around. And another forum for those from 2004 and earlier. - 2008 - jan - feb - mar - etc. - 2007 - jan - feb - mar - etc - 2006 - open to posting non-monthly threads (depending on how active this area still is) -…

I have much less time to spend here than I used to. There are a number of members here whose posts I really enjoy and often find thought provoking. My previous forum behaviour would be to find out what they were up to by clicking on their names and checking in their profile to see where they had last posted. That would be, with my limited time, where I would go first. However, I have discovered, to my dismay, that now every time someone visits another person's profile, their name comes up as having visited. So I have just stopped doing this. I don't know if this feature already exists and I just haven't been able to find it, but I'd really like the ability to subscribe to a number of forums, rather than just to individual threads. I tend to only use a half dozen or so of the various forums (my month group, my location group, my age group, rants and raves and a couple of others) and it is really a pain to have to navigate between those. I use the Subscribed Threads link a LOT and because my posts are mostly in those forums that does get me there in a roundabout way, but it would be nice to have a personalised list of forums.

I can't remember or find the link for all the codes like PB etc. Can anyone help. LOL I am a dork.:biggrin:

Up until yesterday, I was getting email when people posted on a thread I was subscribed to. Last night and today that's not working. Anyone else having issues? I've verified the setting is still on in Edit Options and I've verified that the notifications are not going into my junk mail folder. I'm receiving mail from other sources just fine, so my email is not down.

I'm really busy with work right now, and have the added joy of being a care-taker for an elderly family member. Once summer gets here, I'll have more time, but right now, I can't fit the support groups into my schedule. If they would only change their schedules to fit my availability, but, alas, that is not gonna happen. (Nor do I really expect them to do so.) Yesterday when I was logged on, I noticed that under my name was more new additions, it once again said the city and state I was from. Then today it is gone again, but others show.....how is that being determined? Or is it a work in progress??!! Kat

I would like to block someone so I don't have to read their post. I come here for support and her attitude and her rudeness really depresses me. I don't want to respond to her because she is so violtile, but her opinions and comments really irratate and annoy me. Is there anyway I could just block her?

Hi: I hope someone can help me with this problem.:biggrin: I have the updates on the threads sent to my e-mail address. Just yesterday this strange thing started happening. I use aol for my e-mail address for the lapbandtalk website. Yesterday I tried linking back to lapband talk from one of the e-mails and it just locks up my e-mail. It always worked before that. I have anti-virus software that is up-to-date and I did an extra scan and it seems fine. Any suggestions? Maybe I hit something that doesn't allow a link from e-mail, but I don't know where that option is. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Sue

I know we get notifications when we get new ones, but how to we find them when we've read them? "Messages" on the menu only goes to PMs, not the profile messages

I like the look of the new LBT site. However, I use to just click "My Account" and could view all the threads that I subscribe to. Now I have to go to "New Messages" and then click on "User CP". Is there an easier way? Can "My Accounts" be brought back?"

HELP!! I no longer get instant notifications when someone posts to a thread I'm subscribed to. I also no longer get emails for private messages or friend requests. Nada, zip, zilch, I haven't gotten an email from LapBandTalk.com for about a week and a half. I've looked under my options and such and cannot find anything amiss. I emailed technical support about 3 days ago and still haven't heard a peep.

How do you get those cute tickers on the bottom of your postings. I looked at their WEB site and didn't see instructions about how to get it to print on this forum.

I have one entry in my blog, but it says I have zero. What do I have to do so that it shows in my signature like a lot of people have done, and will it then say that I have one entry? Hope this makes sense. Debbie

I was going to show a few threads that I had hidden .. now I just can't find the area I can do that... I know its there cause I hid the threads!!! Now I can't undo what I did ... *smacks forehead*

I tried everything, doing the lost pass word link ( 6 times btw ) checked the junk maik etc etc etc. send an email to tech support for this site ... nothing. Any suggestions as i had to reregister, which is kinda a pain thanks
