Dr Garcia is doing mine and my Moms sleeve June 8th at Cer in Tijuana! It's getting so close now! Im getting anxious about the procedure and my Mom being ok. I know it's nerves and everything will be fine I'm just starting to freak out a little! I'm also starting to have mini panic attacks about the foods I will miss lol This is silly and I'll get over it but I'm mourning my food addiction I guess lol I'm also starting to worry about gas pain after, hunger pains, and dehydration headaches!! I'm just in the worry stage I guess everything is starting to sink in!!!!!

I had my surgery at Florence Hospital on May 13, 2015 with Dr. Zavalza and Dr. Luna. Let me start by saying, I could not be happier with the results. I was pain-free, had very little gas discomfort, no vomiting, and was up and moving pretty quickly; I was very fortunate as I handled the surgery very well or as Dr. Luna said, "I rocked it!" I was communicating with a man the other day who didn't really do any research on his surgeon, so he went with Dr. Almanza...big mistake. His story is so sad and that's why I am on here because he has no clue how to get on here and tell his story... But it's a legit story, you can even look him up on Facebook and ask him. This is a bit of an introduction since I have stopped lurking and officially got an account. I have been considering VSG for a little over a month and am set on it. I am a preschool teacher and am hoping to have the surgery this summer. May 12! I've been on this journey for so long that I can't believe it's almost here! I'm nervous and want to begin my pre-op diet immediately but I think I should have some "food funerals" first. I plan on going to my fave Chinese restaurant before starting the pre-op diet. Man, I can't wait for the brand new me! Wish me luck!

The place I plan on going through only has a 2 night stay and you head home on the 3rd afternoon. A flight from Houston to San Diego is about 3 hours both ways but the only flights that I can find have a one hour layover in Phoenix. One hour from San Diego to Phoenix and then the last two from Phoenix to Houston. I did a search and saw that people recommended moving your legs and feet, getting up to walk and buying compression socks. Does anyone else have any other tips? The thought of blood clots makes me extremely nervous and I haven't really seen many people talk about the flight back home. So today I start my pre-op diet. I'm so excited! I will be having protein shakes during the day and lettuce with some skinless grilled chicken in the evening. If I crave something sweet I will be having either sugar free jello of a suger-free popsicle. I can't believe 2 weeks from now I will be having my surgery! I've waiting for so very long to save up money for this and now it seems to be moving so very fast!

My flight leaves early tomorrow morning. My nerves are just now kicking in. I was never scared of dying during surgery before but now I'm getting paranoid and am writing lists of directions to friends and family just in case I don't make it.
