Pooping makes the world go around! The world go around! The world go around! Many think this song should be about money, but nah...I think it's all about the (Mr. Hanky). Good Lord! So I've been through MOM 60ml x 3 days, Mag Citrate 400mg Pills Daily, Mag Citrate Liquid (1/3 bottle--oh the humanity! Never again!), Smooth Move Tea, and Miralax x 2 days, psyllium 12g x 3 days, chia seed pudding (standing by), and daily Colace 250mg pills...and finally. Finally! FINALLY! The earth moved. I would like to thank the academy. I feel such a sense of relief. I was seriously bloated, uncomfy, was 4 lbs up on the scale, and generally in a pissy mood yesterday.…

Hi guys. In 10 days I start my two week pre-op diet. I can only have protein shakes during this time. I’m a bit lost as to which one to buy. My doc says any brand will do so which ones do you recommend?

  5. Started by Orchids&Dragons,

I was planning to order several types of vitamins from the BP store. I was thinking of getting them set up on auto-renewal. When I buy them today, I know they will be bundled together and I'll only have one shipping charge. For those of you who have used the auto-renew service before, will the items be bundled together next time, or will I end up with 4 separate shipments each charging $6.99 shipping? What if I order both vitamins and other food products? Will those get bundled in the future? I tried chatting with a customer service person but I'm not sure they understood the question. TIA!

I had my VSG on 8/12. I had a few days of a mild fever post op. Ever since I’ve been having terrible hot flashes and sweating. I’m 49. Could it be a coincidence and menopause started at the same time I had surgery, or is this possible surgery related? Anyone else experience this?

  8. Hello all - newbie around here, and still learning to navigate the boards, unsure whether to post this in the ladies sub-board or not, I know that men get catalogs too! Surely not as many as women ha ha (who knows, I digress...). Suffice to say after many years in the plus-size world, I get reams and reams of plus-size clothing catalogs in my mailbox every day or every other day - yikes. All those attempts I made to look as nice as I could while being in 2x+ really made those companies a lot of $$$ and I don't blame them for wanting more lol. However, I'm really big (HA no pun intended!) on not just the food aspect of the post-op journey, but on the emotional he…

Post your theme song that typifies either your old relationship with food or your new one! Get creative! Make The YouTube your friend! It feels like this morning, this is many people's theme song: Fleetwood Mac The Chain

  10. I ate a bag of protein pretzels wayyyy too fast and have foamies at work - spitting into a paper towel currently. ;( I also really like kitties. Send healing pics of your cuties? Please?

  11. If you could close one fast food chain, due to disgusting food, what would you pick?

  12. Fuel that burn baby!!! What are you listening to? Post your YouTube workout tunes of the day!!!! Inspire us! I ran 45 minutes this morning (ok I ralked=run/walked at 3mph)--but still, I did it for 45 continuous minutes so I'll take it. And I love ralking to these tunes!!! I love the drum beats and tempo of all of these--really puts me in my zone. Def Leppard - Rocket Tom Petty - Last Dance With MaryJane + American Girl U2 - Pride Boston -- Rock and Roll Band

  13. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-7327101/Weight-loss-jab-dubbed-exciting-obesity-treatment-helps-patients-lose-10lbs-month.html Thoughts? Yes, I know the DailyMail is not exactly prime news source... but just for the basic overview. Maybe would be good for those with some weight regain later on post-op or in lieu of revision. I wonder how long the effects last... and clearly it doesn't have the "training benefits" of surgery. I also don't like how DailyMail put dumping syndrome as a disadvantage... I consider that an advantage and is an excellent negative reinforcement tool for those that get it.

Do you think that some day you may forget what a certain food tastes like? lol. I am in a group on Facebook where everyone posts meals/foods and people roast them or say that it looks flavortown. Someone asked if condiments on mac n cheese is good, and I obviously said no because NO. But will I someday forget the deliciousness of mac n cheese? Or the taste of a 7 layer burrito? Or a real fudgy brownie? lol. Will some day I not be able to participate in this group because I truly cannot recall what a piece of cake tastes like? lmao.

So, to respect each other's preferences, I'd like to start this thread for people who would like others to pray for them when they're having difficulty. Please add your prayer requests to the thread and we can be supportive to one another. If your request is personal, just ask us to pray for your intentions. We can support you without the details. My daughter wants a bearded dragon as a pet. I've been doing a lot of research on them and it amuses me the similarities between these cute little lizards and myself. Their diet should consist of high protein insects and a variety of dark greens. Okay okay so I'm not eating crickets and roaches... But things like worms are too high in fat to get daily and should be special treats. They're like cheeseburgers for your dragon. Veggies should be all the good dark green leafies and not iceberg lettuce. Many dragons don't actually like their veggies but its important part of their diet to stay healthy. Dragons have differing taste buds and you have to give y…

After I got down to goal weight, I thought it would be ok to drink on weekends. I was aware of the higher risk of alcoholism after WLS, but not that there was any increased risk of damage to your liver or anything. Now there's this: https://www.webmd.com/mental-health/addiction/news/20190620/drug_alcohol_deaths_soar_after_weight-loss_surgery#1 What a bummer! Oh well, one more reason to avoid empty calories. I tracked down the original article. It turns out most of the reported deaths were from drug overdoses rather than alcohol. They also didn't delve into causation vs. correlation. Big title, but not much real information. If you're interested: https://www…

Come and join the June challenge if you wish. Do as little or as much that works for you. Hopefully @GreenTealael will provide “B side questions “ if she has time. Off we go! Start by saying hi, surgery date (unless you are pre-op), type of surgery and state 1 or 2 goals you plan to accomplish this month. Goals don’t have to be weight or food related. Everyone is welcome to join at anytime, we are just supporting each other.

I love watching shows like My 600 lbs Life since I started on my journey toward surgery. My husband does not watch these shows but he is typically in the room when I am watching. He has been supportive of me. He cooks healthy, he makes healthy shopping lists, he looks for healthy recipes and gently and sweetly refuses when I want to cheat. After a recent office visit with my surgeon I thanked him for being so supportive. He replied with "Yeah! I do not want to be like those dead beats on My 600 lbs Life! I have to be a good and supportive husband! You can do this!". ...apparently he listens to the show while I watch. Do you have any funny stories?

  38. Ok, so, my fiancé and I are planning a trip to Orlando for next July. I’m having some serious anxiety about leaving my puppers for so long (5 days maybe). Like I’m to the point that I don’t want to go! I have a place that I trust to board them, but I’ve only ever been without them for one night. Talk about human separation anxiety. Any thoughts?

  39. I would always see commercials for pillows and stuff where people are trying to get comfortable shoving a pillow between their knees. I'd chuckle to myself and say "who needs pillows between their knees?! That's weird!" Now thin me can't sleep on my side. Why? Because my knees bang together and hurt! I'm totally one of those people now that need some weird fancy pillow to put between my legs! I also want to carry an inflatable donut around because I lost all my padding and my tailbone hurts sitting on a lot of chairs. Time to start a squat challenge and build up some glutes! What has surprised you about your new body?

With 39lbs left to go before plastics in November, I am starting to look towards my next goal. Last weekend, my coworker expressed that she was embarrassed at the gym because she didn't know how to use any of the equipment. I went in an hour before my class with her and showed her a lot of things. I timed her wall squats, showed her proper form, and every time she would say she sucked or was weak, I was the opposite of my usual self and was very motivating and encouraging. She even offered to pay me for the session! I've been thinking a lot about this and how great I felt helping someone else. I think I want to pursue a certificate in personal training in 2020 a…

  47. This past weekend I visited some friends out of state that I hadn't seen in almost 2 years. I had my sleeve surgery 8 months ago, lost about 80 lbs from 260 to 180, and hadn't mentioned it to them beforehand. The first person to see me freaked out and yelled OMG OMG What happened? I told her that I had surgery. She paused and said I want the old back. Such a strange reaction. She said it was just such a shock, she wasn't prepared to see me like that. She also asked why I hadn't said anything to prepare her. I said I just funny really see a reason to bring it up. I have tattoos from my shoulder down to my elbow on each arm and then I have one on my thigh and my calf. I also have a foot and behind the ear that I'm not really worried about. How many of you, Pre-Op, have gone through your refrigerator, pantry, etc... and ate or are still eating all the junk because you don't want to waste it by throwing it in the trash?? I'm so glad I live by myself. I don't know how all of you with families can resist the temptation with all the foods around that your other family members still eat. How many of you have managed to get your family to start eating healthier before they end up in our situation?
