I didn't realize when I lost weight that _____

  • Popular Post

I would always see commercials for pillows and stuff where people are trying to get comfortable shoving a pillow between their knees. I'd chuckle to myself and say "who needs pillows between their knees?! That's weird!" Now thin me can't sleep on my side. Why? Because my knees bang together and hurt! I'm totally one of those people now that need some weird fancy pillow to put between my legs!

I also want to carry an inflatable donut around because I lost all my padding and my tailbone hurts sitting on a lot of chairs. Time to start a squat challenge and build up some glutes!

What has surprised you about your new body?

I didn't realize when I lost weight that ... People would no longer recognize me. It's led to a lot of awkward personal and professional interactions.

Well at least she did not use the "poop" emoji. I sent one to my friend thinking it was a Hershey's kiss[emoji13][emoji23]

Hahahaha! OMG! Hilarious! Ok, so I had to be "schooled" about what that emoji was from my great niece! I thought it was a little Hershey's too! Hahahahaha!

I can cross my legs now and do not require a seat belt extension on an airplane!
Sitting on a hard chair is a bit uncomfortable, lost all my padding!

I didn’t realise quite HOW much stress this would take out of getting ready to go out.

That’s still changing as I have a painfully small amount of wearable clothes, so mix ‘n’ match is limited and have lots of washing to do. However, I rarely consider how much attention I can emotionally stand as a key part of choosing and the decision to go out at all (the equation that saw me stay home the vast majority of the time pre-surgery).

I now, both cos of weight loss and justifiable warrior vibes produced by proudness at achievement and on-going effort, think about nothing but being covered in an appropriate and nice way for the occasion, or if heading into typically judgier waters (PTA anyone?!) I think ‘FU all, this is me, and I’m a legend’
