So I've decided to start the process of looking into getting the vsg surgery. I've been doing my research, even joined this site to read the different experiences. Its after 1am (eastern time) and later tonight I am attending a Bariatric seminar. I have no idea why I am so nervous but I am. I'm going to the seminar solo which is doing nothing for the jitters. Have no idea why I am so nervous about it. Anyway, I hope everyone is having a nice night. Sorry for the long winded nerves post. Just had to say it.

Ok so I am in the process of getting a band. There is this one thing that came to mind and it's regarding performing oral sex on a man. I hope this doesn't come across as slutty but I am worried that when I do this I might gag and that can hurt my band. Is that possible? I happen to like doing this specific act of love and been known to gag in the past. I dont mind the gagging itself because it never hurts and I don't throw up, but if I have the band and gag, can it slip or somethin? If I'm crossing the line please feel free to lock/delete this thread!

Well I've made the last step in competing my team for Bariatric Surgery Support and that's reaching out to other people going through same struggle. This is hard for me because I'm so used to doing things on my own. But it's past time to start taking care of me. Just wanted to come in and say ? Hello, look around, and get a feel for the forum. I wish all of you the best on your journeys.

Is there anybody near Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area in PA who would like to chat. I'm completely new to the forum. I just started the pre-surgical work to have my procedure in January. I believe I'm going with the sleeve. I would love to make some new friends who can relate to this whole experience. Thank you!!

I don't know if this is necessarily the place to post this, but I just got married!!!! This woman has been by my side through the last 2 and a half years in this journey. She met me when I weighed over 600 pounds. I am now back down to my playing weight for football in college, but I am much healthier and and in better shape than I was then. I still have a lot of work to get under 3 bills, but I am extremely happy to head down this new path in life.

Hi guys, I need some help with something creative. I am trying to start an Etsy shop for some of my crochet items. They tend towards the geeky/nerdy side. I have some cat toys inspired by, harry potter, star wars, pokemon, and i plan to list hats scarves and gloves as it gets colder. I need help coming up with a shop name. Something fun and nerdy Any ideas?

I rejoined the Veterans of Foreign Wars Department of Michigan State Honor Guard last month. Well yesterday (4 July 2017) was our first official event. It was a 2 mile (give or take) parade. When I was on the State Honor Guard 2 years ago I thought I was going to die by the time we reached the end of the parade. Yesterday, I was like huh, when is this parade going to start. I carried the Department flag and had zero issues. What a difference losing 100 pounds makes. Also, 2 years ago the uniform I was issued had become a little too small for me (I couldn't button the pants (thank goodness there is a wide white belt that covered it up) and I had to buy a larger uniform) bu…

It's only a month late (sorry - life happens!), but I've finally gotten my podcast going! In the first episode, I mostly just introduce myself and explain why I chose the sleeve. Direct Link // iTunes // Stitcher I'd love your feedback! And if you have suggestions for future topics, that would be awesome too! So far, I'm planning episodes on insurance, head hunger, what wls is and what it isn't, and a more in depth look at the different kinds of surgeries.

Now that I have had my RNY surgery, meet (and exceeded) my surgeon's weight loss goal and am starting to get self conscious about my short comings I am thinking about getting multifocal lens implants http://yaldoeyecenter.com/multifocal-lens-implants. I just turned 50 in February and I have bifocal glasses and hearing aids (due to loud noises on the flight line (when I was in the Army) and I am pretty self conscious about the hearing aids and the bifocals. I know I can't do anything about the hearing aids but I think I can do something about needing glasses. I already tried contact lenses but that didn't work too well. Has anyone had this procedure done and if so are you …

So my support group awards you with a pin for 100 pounds lost or 1 year since your surgery. Last night I received my pin for 100 pounds lost (two days short of 7 months). I will wear this with pride on my Veterans of Foreign Wars Uniform Hat to remind me of my journey.

3 years 5 days ago I have gastric bypass surgery. 2 years 8 months ago I began cheating on my husband. He still to this day doesn't know that I have been out getting chased by men and being a very bad wife. We have been separated for a little over a year now. I didn't want to have sex with him after the surgery. Something changed in me that made me resent him and lost all attraction for him. He is a really good looking man and has all of the right anatomy. He loved me as a large woman and I became small very fast and he didn't change with me. I found that men were becoming more and more attentive and I was enjoying all of it. Once I broke the ice and cheated the …

Well tonight is my first post op sleep study. My sleep doctor has said that the surgery corrected my obstructive apnea but now the data shows that it is central sleep apnea. So tonights sleep study will a) see if it is indeed central sleep apnea see if I need to go from a CPAP to an Autopap machine and c) to see if I can go from a full face mask to a nasal pillow or something similar. Don't get me wrong, I am so happy that the surgery took care of the obstructive apnea, I just wish (and hope) that the machine is interpreting the sleep data wrong and that I don't have central apnea.

OK, I know that I posted a photo before joking that I was going to buy the flamingo suit and wear it to my daughter's wedding. Well I did buy the suit and I did wear it to a Department of Michigan Veterans of Foreign Wars Testimonial Dinner for the State Commander and President. I became what I hate, the center of attention. As I am running for the position of Department of Michigan Jr. Vice Commander 2017-18 it helped me get noticed (not sure if it was good or bad) and I was definitely the talk of the event. Oh, and I am wearing new white Chuck Taylor's and matching flamingo sox.

Please forgive me if this is long.... And some of you might nail me to the cross for this I've been married going on 15 years. I'm 35 years old with 2 Children 12 and 15. 2 years ago almost to the day I met a guy. Now I may have been what society considers a fat girl but only now am I able to actually express that. I truly did not see myself that way. I was very confident, dressed well, hair did nails did everything did and although I was married-- NEVER had a problem attracting men. I was doing some shopping and kinda ran into this guy and looking back I think he may have strategically planned it but when I looked up there he was. I felt like I had been hit by ligh…

Alright you guys, I did it. I went and started a wls podcast from the perspective of the patient! It's called 30 Second Chew, and should be available most anywhere you choose to get your podcasts. I am by no means an expert, only someone who wants to share my successes, my struggles, my fears, etc. You can find my intro episode here: http://eloquentgushing.com/30-second-chew/episode-0-introducing-me/ I officially launch in April - and I'd love it if any of you had questions or comments/thoughts for me to share on the show!

Today, I was reunited with Mrs. LittleBill after a long week of separation. Actually, it was a seven day week just like any other. It just seemed longer. But anyway, I got to spend some time with four of my grandchildren, all boys and all 7 years and younger. The initial contact for as long as I can handle it, is tag team wrestling. And there is ventriloquism involved when various stuffed animals appear. There is lots of carrying on. It wears old people like me out. So I resurrected a game from when their mother was small, called the Quiet Game. The rules are simple. Whoever stays quiet the longest wins a quarter. All four of them will sit on the couch with their lips …

I'm getting on a plane in a couple of hours to go to Vegas for a work seminar. Some good things so far: Able to pack everything I need in one carryon bag, because my clothes don't take up as much space. Not worried about who I'll be sitting next to or if I'll make them uncomfortable. Some not-so-good things so far: Nobody to go with me. Some maybe good things: I've lined up a date for while I'm there. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Some not-so-good things: What happens in Vegas sometimes shows up on youtube! LOL!

Looking for families (couples, parents/children, siblings, etc.) who are considering going through bariatric surgery together. Or perhaps you're still trying to convince another family member. I'm working on a documentary series and I'd like to chat. Please send me a private message if you're open to sharing your story. Thanks.

Hey everyone! I'm tinkering with the idea of starting a podcast about wls. The main ones I've seen are run by doctors and medical centers. Would that be something any of you would be interested in listening to? I'm thinking it would be a weekly 5-10 minute show where I share my experiences, answer questions, and share favorite tips and recipes.

There are so many potential jokes here that if I wrote even a few of them, you would all get together and get a gag order against me. So I will stop here, and just post the link for your own perusal. http://twentytwowords.com/scientific-study-reveals-something-very-interesting-about-women-with-big-butts/?utm_source=socialmob&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=article-or-quiz-name&utm_content=2023

My online persona has been the Anti-Chick forever, for a reason. I was very much a tomboy growing up, and my mother was never good at the girl-fu stuff either, so I got no help from that arena. So now that I'm in my mid-to-late-40's I'm trying to learn how to do all the girl stuff. Hair, makeup, fashion, etc. The whole concept of this color analysis stuff is throwing me for a loop, though. And there seems to be several different schools of thought on the subject. Since pretty much every article of clothing I own is going to have to be replaced, and my career is heading for the management arena, I think that this is an ideal time for me to put some extra effort int…

Occasionally we talk about T.V. and movies in the lounge. I just wanted to give my suggestion, "The Crown" on Netflix is amazing! After the last episode was done, I googled to see when Season 2 was coming out. The creator said it will be six seasons, but they have just now started writing the second one. Looks like I must wait, darn! At least "The Affair" on Showtime started up again last Sunday! "The Crown" is a dramatic account of Queen Elizabeth's life and that of her husband, Prince Phillip as well. So good, I highly recommend this show!!!!

Haha, it's not what you might be thinking. I am a visual kind of person. I scan for avatars even before names, and usually recognize a poster for their picture. It is bad enough with those of you who choose anonymity (and I do not blame you). But it seems a number of you ladies have chosen a beautiful tropical scene, with bright sandy beaches, palm trees, so on and so forth. You're straining my poor old eyes, not to mention my memory, trying to keep you all straight. So I have to work a little harder. That is all. Carry on. Well, don't "carry on". It's Sunday. Behave yourselves.

Tonight is going to be snort of bourbon night. It may be a big snort. This morning started off with the impending visit of a friend of mine. He needed to go to the sawmill I frequent to get some lumber he was not able to source local to his own home. He lives about two hours from me. About 15 minutes before his anticipated arrival, my father called me to inform me that their well pump had gone Tango Utah, and they had no water. Both my parents are in their eighties. They live a little more than an hour north of me. Without going into all the sordid details, I managed to get my friend his lumber, and shuffled back to NJ, from whence he came, all the while co…

Almost 20 years ago, I took my wedding ring off. It was early 1998, and I was working in my shop. I caught my ring on a machine and lost a big chunk out of my finger. I took it off, and bandaged it up. At home that night, I told Mrs LittleBill, "I will gladly give my life for you, but I won't lose my finger". She was fine with that. For the past 19 years I haven't worn it. Now that I am losing weight, women are hitting on me. I know, I know, hard to believe, right? But even before, it was an issue. My voice is deep - Darth Vader deep. Women approach me even with Mrs. LittleBill right there. So I am putting it back on. It feels weird. My finger is not normal. In h…

Anyone experiencing Snowmageddon this weekend? I'm in Virginia and got blanketed with 10.5 inches of snow. Might as well be 3 feet for this part of the country! I did my best to shovel this morning but it was definitely tough work. In my future "fit" life I hope to shovel snow with the best & strongest of them!

This morning, Mrs. LittleBill up and left me. You might say I drove her to it - literally. She is traveling out to visit our middle daughter and her family to help watch the little monsters while our son-in-law is out of town on a trip. She is also taking a car out to them that they are acquiring from my parents. So, I drove her to pick it up at Mom and Dad's house early this morning. She plans to come back though, so I am not a permanent bachelor. But for the next little while, I will be eating my high Protein, low carb meal selections off paper plates using plastic forks and spoons, and quaffing my liquids from a paper cup. Because hey, that's what bachelors d…

I've been doing the online dating thing since early 2014. I met a man last year and that relationship lasted nearly a year and while the breakup was so NOT fun, I enjoyed the time we spent together. So, I picked myself up and reluctantly went back online to see if lightening would strike a second time. I think it just might have. Corey and I started talking last month, have had a few dates, and last night, decided to become exclusive and see where this goes. Amazingly, his business is food based tours of NYC and the outer boroughs so he is a huge foodie as I am and has already introduced me to some of the most delicious food I've ever eaten. Now I've lived in …

I am new to this forum. I enjoy reading the posts. My question is, how everyone handled their rings once they lost weight? Did you have your rings re-sized, or wear spacers? Also a friend of mine has been using "arm spanks" has anyone else tried them. She says they are wonderful!!!

Hi there! I'm new and taking a look around. I've made an attempt to request a referral back in August... but I didn't return the centers call. My husband just went thru cancer treatment and it seemed like too much for our family. So now I'm trying again. The journey begins. Here's a recent picture of me from Xmas eve with my kids and husband.... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
