I'm watching my husband to see who it is....if it was for me or what. Who ever it was, just kept going on and on and on. MY husband was listening patiently and then all of a sudden I hear my husband say..... My name is Tommy and I'm going to get to ride in a police car. Then he says...I'm going to ride in a police car andddddd go get ice cream. Then he put the phone down and turned the tv back to our show. He is just sooooo good at tel a marketing calls.

  3. and I'm already in over my head! I don't even ATTEND baby showers, much less PLAN them! (I hate showers, and typically avoid these things as a rule, but I always send a nice carefully thought out gift.) Now what? It's not a surprise, so does the mom-to-be pick the place? What about the guest list? I have someone who has offered to do the cake and mints, but I don't know where to start! Oh, and to top it off, she's new in town, not really a close friend, but since she's so new here, I thought I'd be nice and offer to have the shower for her, since she's not working yet due to the pregnancy and doesn't really know a lot of people here yet. Anyone want to help me come up with a name for the new band in my life? Yeah, I'm feeling a little on the goofy side today (thanks Lexapro!) :smile2:

Ok, so I have been sitting here pondering what my first NSV will be. My DH pipped up, well your pants could fall off (this is via email as he is deployed). I was like, well they do that already if I don't have a belt. I am cursed with a obnoxiously small waist and a HUGE bottom half (read as over a 20in difference). So with out my belt or a tailor I could literally slide my pants on and off with out unzipping them (it actually sucks). So that one is out for a first NSV. Then I started thinking about the things I liked doing when I was a kid that I don't do anymore. Running, I think I am going to work my first NSV to try and be a 9min mile again. I used to love ru…

While I believe this is one step forward to democracy in Cuba, some day hopefully.... I don't think it will bring changes now... His brother who will be taking over, and is as evil as Castro, has lived his whole life in his brother's shadow, and the ministers and everyone else in the government will still be the same, so his brother is not going to do anything now that would jeopardize his own interests, now if Castro dies, then maybe he'll venture to try something different.... I don't believe someone as narcissistic as Castro will be absolutely removed from power, I know he will continue to be consulted. Bottom line is that real change has to come from the military…

I suffer from a mental illness called Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Its a reconised mood disorder. Affecting a lot of people, mostly from the cooler climates. Its rarer in Australia as most of this country is warmish enough, but I happen to be one of the few who have been blessed/cursed to have it. For those who don't know what it is perhaps you are more familiar with bipolar (old name manic depression). SAD is considered a younger sister to bipolar, in that there are two marked mood changes, but with SAD they are dependent upon the weather. For the majority of people with SAD, you are happy go lucky, with energy to burn in summer and completely devoid of emo…

I don't do condescending well at all, I tend to get pissy with people that treat me with that particular attitude. Yes, go figure, was walking down to my basement, on old wooden stairs. Our house is 100 years old, and so are the stairs. So, took one step and boom, down I go 10 feet into the basement. I live alone, so it took my dog barking to wake up my sisters dog upstairs for her to come down. Once all the dust cleared, and surveyed the damage to me, decided to go to the hospital. Ironically enough, had a fill scheduled for today, so I decided that since the fill was in the hospital, I would get everything looked at once I got there. My surgeon did the fill, looked at the damage and told me to go to the ER. Thank God nothing was broken, but have gigantic, ugly red, blue, purple…

Hi all, Anyone have any ideas to rescue a libido that's been killed off by anti-depressants? This is a problem I've been dealing with for quite a long time, but I thought I'd bring it up to my new "cyber friends" (I was banded 11/2/07 and doing well with that). A little history: I have been playing musical medications for depression for about 7 years, and being sexually dysfunctional the vast majority of that time. The combination of drugs I am on right now (Lexapro, Seroquel, Wellbutrin) has the depression largely at bay, but the complete lack of sex drive is so pronounced that I wouldn't care if I ever had sex again. So my new area of "research" is vaccinations. I read the book by Jenny McCarthy and her autistic son, as well as many other books by doctors on the subject. FYI, the latest stat is there are 1 autistic kid in every 150 (1 in 90 for boys). Some believe it's linked to the MMR shot and their kids change around the 15 month mark when they get that shot. I'm quite sick at all the toxins found in vaccines - like formaldehyde, aluminum, mercury to name just a few. The doctors don't tell us this before we let our kids get vaccines. New moms hardly have the time to research this. I sure didn't. I remember thinking at the time I wish I had the time to look into this, but …

I had a "client" at work today. He was morbidly obese, wheezing, could barely breathe, poor grooming and hygeine, stank of tobacco with stains in his beard and fingernails. I caught myself judging him. I was pleasant to him as I am to everyone, but it was there, in the background- If I am honest with myself I at first found him a little repulsive. This guy needs help, and I am doing everything to help him get it. The fact is- we judge each other- part of the reason I got the band is b/c I am so sensitive to what people are thinking. Please dont bash me too hard, it was hard for me to write this. I think we all need to look in the mirror sometimes. I know I do.

This is something I taught myself to do when I was a kid. It occured to me that it may be relevant on here. If the hiccups have just started and are real angry it wont work and you have to let them clam down a little. You have to focus on the hiccup sensation and shut out everyone and everything around you. Stare at a point on the wall or shut your eyes. Now concentrate on that little tug sensation you get in your throat with every hiccup. Imagine it is there and imagine what it feels like. Keep holding that thought over and over for a minute or so and the hiccups will go. You don't have to imagine it gone or tell yourself it will go, just imagine what the feeling …
