Anyone else catch this show? My Tivo recorded it last week for the first time, so I don't know if it's new or what (on National Geographic Channel). First one I saw, they follow the story of how someone (tourists all I've seen so far), agree to do smuggling to make some extra $$ while on a vacation.. get caught, and go to jail. First one was a guy smuggling nearly $2m in gold to Napal, and got caught, and was sentenced to 8 years in Napal's jail. He had an uncle in the royal guard or something, and was able to get him pardoned on the king's birthday after 8 months of jail time. It's really surreal, so this is what I expected. I watched Mexico last night …

I am hoping some of my LBT friends will be able to help me. My daughter is 15 and, as usual, we are having a terrible time finding her a bathing suit. In terms of pant sizes, she is a 8. But, she takes after her mom in the boobs and is a 34D. Like most teen girls, she wants to wear a two-piece bathing suit. I don't mind her wearing a bikini, but we can't find one that is appropriate for a large-breasted teenage girl. Any suggestions on stores or websites where I might find some suits for her? I have tried Venus, Lands End, Speedo, etc. Thanks.

Hey everyone, just looking for some words of wisdom perhaps. I am a college student in the second semester of my sophomore year. I go to a four year school and am currently an art education major, which also requires a minor in basic education, grades k-8, although I would prefer to be an art teacher in an elementary school, which where I live is grades K-4. As of right now, my parents pay for school, mainly because I work part time as a waitress and am completely broke. I'm taking a full course load now and I am HATING all these teaching classes! They are so hard! And its full of all these technical mumbo jumbo terms and such I can't seem to follow. A big part of me w…

"Eat all you want and still lose weight! We couldn't say it on TV if it wasn't true!" LIARS!! I'm so sick of these commercials. There is supposed to be "truth in advertising" but I don't see it. Sorry, just happened to be online when I heard this commercial again and lost it. Any others out there you just hate?

I blog on this one site, but it just does not seem very user friendly (or it could just be ME being stupid). If you blog, at what site, what all do you blog about, how often? Sherri

I've been doing research on how my mother, retired no income, gets the Stimulus Payment....because filling out a return...everything is zeroed. Found it! For all those retirees, disabled, vets, etc..... here's what you do: File a 1040A, don't know why but the info I found said 1040A...make sure it's A and not just regular 1040. At the top of the page write "Stimulus Payment" Line 14a. Social Security Benefits _____________ This is where you put your 2007 Social Security, tier 1 railroad retirement, veterans compensation, disability and death benefits. You can round. Must be more than $3,000 to get the $300 check. Spouse? $300 Kids under 18, $300 eac…

I'm getting banded soon and i'm starting to think of birth control. My periods have always been irregular, the doctor said it's probably due to the fact i've always been over weight. When me and my husband first got together I was on depo for 3 years, and i've been off for about 1 year and 9 months (only 3 or 4 light periods). Anyways, we want to have a baby but the doctor recommends that I wait a year first. So my question is, what birth control are you using? Does the pill work ok?

 My daughter just got home from spending time with her boyfriend's family and brought home a bag of clothes for me. My daughter's boyfriend's mom had gastric bypass in June 07 and sent home size 14's that she used to wear. She's very excited that I'm heading towards being banded as she tried to get me to have GB with her. It was very sweet of her but it's going to be awhile before I can wear them as I'm currently a 28/30.

So I start my new part-time job tomorrow morning. I'll probably be working there at least three days a week, with possible part-days for two days a week. It pays pretty well for an entry-level part-time job ($10/hour) and the work is mostly office stuff that a trained monkey could do - lots of routine paperwork, data entry, that sort of stuff. I'm also still looking for some additional work, since they aren't open on weekends or later than 4:00 on weekdays. I've applied and been interviewed for a barista position at a Starbucks that's close to the new job (not that I know anything about coffee, lol), where I could work either early mornings or late afternoons/nights, …

So one of my bosses, who is from the UK, comes in my office and asks me if I know why when cats are spayed in the UK the incision is on the side and when they are done in the US the incision is on the abdomen. My 2nd job is vet tech so I guess he figured that I would know. I had no idea that the surgery was done differently in the UK. Does anyone have a clue why this is? When I asked him why he wanted to know he said it came up while he was out drinking with friends and none of them could figure out why. Now he's got me wondering why. :guess

Last year I undergo Lasik surgery for my nearsightedness and like the concern of other people im not comfortable in wearing contacts because my eyes are sensitive for infection and I hate wearing those oldie thick glasses that I had before so my friend suggested me for Lasik exam in my2020 have you heard that? So then to make the story short I flew to Kansas ( I also had a business trip during that time) to have then the LASIK exam ( to determine if im a good candidate) The exam includes a complete evaluation of the internal and external health of my eyes. They create a detailed map of the eyes and perform all of the visual tests necessary to prepare for LASIK. And the …

Hi all. I am not yet banded but I have a question for you ladies that have been. I enjoy performing oral sex on my husband and to put it nicely I am not a spitter. Does the band (or has it) prevented anyone from being be able to do this?

Hi all, I'm just learning my way around, though I've been lurking for quite sometime, but I'd like to introduce myself, and hopefully, give anyone who wants to a chance to ask questions about blindness. There may be many of you who have never come in contact with blind people, and I hope you will feel free to ask any questions you'd like. Don't worry, nothing will offend me. So let me tell you a little about myself. I have been blind since birth. I am considered totally blind, though I do have light perception. I can also see shadows, though I couldn't tell you what shape the shadow takes. I am a switchboard operator by day, and a professional musician. I have perfo…

I have been considering lap band surgery for a while now. I am concerned that the general percentages lost are reported at 50-65% but I am told everyone is different. I see people have lost more. When you guys started out, did the weight percentages bother you. My BMI is 43 and I really want to lose all my weight. What can you do to reach your goal and be more successful.

Is it getting anyone else down how the women are completely being eliminated on BL? I almost don't want to watch anymore - every week another woman. Soon it will be all of those silly men (not that I don't love men and all - just would like to see a woman win for once!).

I went in to the GNC at our local mall intending on buying some Isopure....I've NEVER stepped foot in that store, so had no idea where it was. I asked the young man at the counter where it was and he pointed it out. I still couldn't find it, so he came over and showed me. He asked who it was for and I said, "Me". He got the most incredulous look on his face and said "YOU use isopure?" I was pizzed off so I just walked out of the store......I thought maybe I had misunderstood him....but my sixteen year old daughter piped up immediately and said, "Well, that was RUDE..." Anyway......I do know that I'll never step foot in another GNC!

I WANT CHOCOLATE! I have to sit here at work (at a new job I might add), every fricken Tues, Wed and Thurs and stare at doughnuts all damn day. I don't even LIKE doughnuts but I EAT THEM...WHY? WHY??? I even posted a pre-surgery pic of me on my monitor and wrote DON'T EAT THE DOUGHNUTS on it. People just gave me funny looks, but it did help. I've moved the doughnuts away and they're not used to that, and keep asking me: Where did they go? Um, hello? They went into the kitchen where food belongs. Doughnuts DO NOT belong on a fat girl's desk. But, now...it's after lunch, I'm settling down and I want CHOCOLATE. I want to drink it, I want to eat …

I think most of us had a dream or secret desire we wanted to do, but didn't because of our weight - either because physically we couldn't or emotionally we felt we couldn't. For me it was acting. I desperately wanted to be an actor but always felt my weight was an issue. I'd been told I had serious talent but I never pursued it. The other dream was working in hospitality. I've decided this one I can make come true after the op. I will be taking up an apprenticeship as a chef 6 months after my op. So, what about you? What was the dream? What was the thing you couldn't do then but will now?

What a rip off! They lured me into the store with their coupons and special sales & then when I went to the cash register- no discounts applied to what I was buying. I'll be d**ned if I'm going to pay 90 bucks for an outfit I'll wear for 2 months! I went down the street to Dress Barn & a similar outfit was $55! I feel like LB thinks that since we're fat we're either dumb or rich! What a bunch of bulldung!

does anyone remember when someone said oh, I have to lose 20-30 lbs? then we thought yeah, right, look at me? well, now I'm in that predicament and I don't say that to anyone who is more overweight than I am because I know how they feel. I am so glad to be in this predicament and I will do this. I am 9 months post op and happy with my loss. I just remember people telling me that they have only 20-30 lbs to lose and I guess I was just jealous because I had so much more to lose. they always looked so slim that I thought they didn't need to lose anymore, maybe just trying to tell me something?

I'm an extremely neat and tidy person, like almost OCD about it. When I click on the right hand side where it says Unanswered Posts, I have this crazy drive to answer all the questions so they'll be neat and tidy (and gone) I mean, there are a LOT of pages of unanswered questions. The neat person in me wants to clear it all! Anyone else have this weird desire?

Does anyone have ideas on how to deal with/treat insomnia? My mom is having a major breakdown becuase she hasn't slept all week (again) and I don't know what to do to help. She has seen several doctors, completed a sleep study, has tried several medicines for restless leg syndrome and insomnia. The restless legs seems to be getting better but the sleep medicine makes her feel so out of it in the morning that she hates taking them. She called me crying on the phone about minor things that really aren't a big issue. I know it is becuase she is so tired. What can I do to help her? What can I suggest that she try? Any advice is welcome. Thanks for listening!

OMG! Haven't experienced blizzard conditions and this volume of snow in a 12-18 hour period of time in over 30 years. Thought it would be fun for those of you in warmer climates to see a picture of this. Also, I'm going crazy thinking what if I can't make it to the hospital for my surgery date due to a blizzard after working for 6 months to get there ---I tell you this-- it will be a cold day in ...... before I'll miss that surgery date!

At the bottom of most of the post there is a "yardstick" of where you started and where you are now. I would like to add that to my post prior to my surgery but I don't know how. Also how do you get your picture to show up with your sign in name and where you are from? Would someone help me please? Thanks Barbara

Help! Today I am having a BAAAAD "I want to cut my hair" day. I used to have short hair for yeeeaaarrss. And over the past year and a bit have been growing it out. I would say it is now officially medium length (longer than the "longer hair" example pic I will post. Since I've had short hair for a long time I thought I would try it longer. I am not one that spends a long time in the morning getting ready, doing hair, etc. and my hair is usually brush and go. One reason I was hanging onto the longer hair idea is that it will be easier to have an "up do" of sorts for my wedding next spring (2009) if it's longer. Anyways, let me know what you think. The short hair pi…

Ok, so hubby calls me yesterday all excited because he has won an all expense paid trip from work in the 3rd week of April. It includes aifare, hotel, meals and spending money for 3 days in Vegas. We are pretty excited as we have never been to Vegas and were just saying we could really use a mini vacation with just the two of us. Here is the problem. Being as we live in Florida, and Vegas is a bit of haul for us, my hubby says it simply would not make sense for us to drive all the way there for a 3 day trip, especially when airfare is included. So, I am officially terrified because I have never been on a plane before and the idea instills pure terror for me. Are …

Ok, I admit, the goofiest stuff entertains me and makes me happy. Now as to why I am happy, first, got my jeans back from the tailor! OMG I am soooo thrilled to not have a pair of jeans that I gotta worry about the ass gap or butt slide. Best money I have ever spent was getting my jeans tailored. Now my belts don't "slip" and cut into my skin they stay with the jeans, and when I sit I don't have to constantly pull my shirt down over my jeans cause of the gap, and slide. THen the other thing that made me very happy was I went to the store, all clearance items were on extra markdown (60%) Momma went shoppin!!!!! First off, I got an outfit that fits now, well the …

DH is a sci-fi nut and didn't have an answer. I bought the book I Am Legend. Good book, but in the back it has a series of short-stories. VERY MORBID short stories. Also good, I liked it a lot. But there was one story about the "Loopy Dance" which was the Dance of the Dead. Now, I know it's a fictional writer and fictional short story but it makes references to the gas after WWII they realized the gas used to kill people, animated them, and thus the Loopy Dance. Just wondering, was this true? When I google it, I don't get any good information. Was the Loopy Dance a real term? Be nice please :smile2: DANCE OF THE DEAD-PAGE 1 That's the story if you like morbid…

Has anyone just packed up and left? Not really told anyone until after the fact? I have been thinking for a couple of years to move. I always go on vacation or to visit someone and I think I would love to live here. For years I kept going to Vegas, thinking I really wanted to move there. Now I am thinking more rational (I think) and not just wanting to move to vacation spots. Almost everywhere I go I want to move too. I have lived in this area my whole life. My college was only 30 minutes from home. I like it here, but at the same time it's getting old. I think I need a change of scenery. I am bored w/life and it's depressing. I am single, no kids, I hate…
