:smile2:This may be a dumb question but how do I get the little weight tracker ticker thing at the bottom of my posts. I looked everywhere, at least I thought I did, as to where I would enter when I was banded and how much I've lost and all that but I can't find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thnx!

Chicken-Spinach salad I got this recipe from Georgia Girl...I lived off it on mushies (just used the food processor), now it is great as is or on crackers: 3 TBS Tostidos Spinach Dip 1 Can All-White meat chicken Mix ingredients and eat. Refrigerate after making. According to Daily Plate this has about 130 calories/15 grams of Protein a serving.

Anyone use these? Or have you? I'm thinking about getting this as landline is going to cost too much and every call is longdistance since I'm in the middle of two areas- everything costs! And with my cable...digital phone is like 20 bucks per jack for installation plus the 29 for installation and 40 bucks a month. A little pricy for me. Thanks everyone!

Has anyone tried this? I've seen it on infomercials (which I normally assume are lies), and it looks tempting. If you haven't seen it, its like Spanx, but more for your whole body... I can't seem to find a photo of it online. If you have used it, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Oh! And that one by Dr. Ray from Dr. 90210. He makes one too. Opinions? Gripes?

News flash -- hot ladies make dudes want to be hot too. I don't know whether to list this as a "duh" or "brilliant!" concept. scale and objectified images, image the impact it has on some poor guy who's been thinking he's a 2 or 3 on the scale due to his weight. Imagine now that weight is coming off, he's moving "up" the scale ("away" from his partner, perhaps?), and yet he still isn't closing in on that 11 and her 3% bodyfat boyfriend. Does he Celebrate the distance traveled, or mourn the remaining gap? Is there a solution to this? There are those out there who would call for an end to the 11s in the media, and a greater focus on real people, but I cannot agr…

Today, I hit (and crashed through) one of my goals. Today, November 25, 2008, I weigh 311... That is 59 pounds down since my July 25 surgery. But with my pre-op diet, and earlier in the year weight loss attempts... that makes my loss at 101 POUNDS SINCE JANUARY 1!!!!! I just wanted to shout for a second. :thumbs_up:Thanks for being here and giving great support!

I want to sell some of our packrat "stuff" in the basement on eBay (some small antiques, books, and lots of my kids stuff now that my youngest is 13 and they've moved out of the toy stage). I've been planning this for a year, but I'm afraid to get started because I don't know what I'm doing. I've been setting aside stuff in boxes and the mound is growing. We've got a verified PayPal account we've been using for years to buy...yep, more "stuff". I've watched some of those video training things on eBay awhile back, but I know they changed some of their costs, etc. the past year. I've been collecting small boxes, bubble wrap and peanuts for a year. I'm afraid I'll make…

I had my first "non plus size store NSV" at the J Jill store (which is 125 miles from my house), since then, I have just been in love with the store, the clothes, the fact that they FIT my slimmer me, etc....... But now--and this is the exciting part-- I live in a TINY northwoods Wisconsin town. No where to shop for clothes except Walmart, Kmart and Shopko which gets a little (alot) old after a while. NOw some cute hip chick has opened a fab boutique right here in our town! I went today "just to look". I found a pair of pants I thought might work. She put them in the dressing room. I am still too big to fit into the gorgeous sweaters and most of the tops she h…

Hello everyone, It took me long enough to figure out how it was done, but it's easy, and we're official. Thank you all, and really, let's talk. Anyone have any gigs? I have a couple, and my mind is racing, probably I'm still in the insurance fighting phase for my band. But music keeps me sane Looking forward to hearing from one and all! Debbie.

Well, it's been fun. Scratch that. Actually it hasn't. I may as well be real. I'm saying goodbye to the me I see in the mirror. I'm saying goodbye to fat clothes, stretch pants, sweats, red face, panting while walking, aching joints, and feeling out of place at most functions, or simply feeling invisible. I'm saying goodbye to hating myself and being uncomfortable in my own skin. I'm saying goodbye to feelings of inadequacy due to my weight (the other stuff will be dealt with, however), and, let's face it, a difficult sex life. I'm saying hello to the person I was meant to be, hello to regular clothes, walking without discomfort, tying my shoes with ease …

Hi. I am getting ready to help host a scrapbooking presentation in our hospital's bariatric support group meeting in January. I've been doing searching on the internet for different funny weight loss jokes, inspirational sayings for weight loss, etc. I thought it might be fun if we share material to use in our scrapbooks. Here's some ideas to get started: 1. Christmas cards - cut out various design components from last year's old cards (if you keep them until the next year so you know who to send cards to again). You can find all kinds of pretty inspirational scenes and funny things too. One of my before pictures was in a Snoopy Christmas T-shirt so I'm going to see…

Well, I'm 2 weeks out and I've decided to start studying for a new career. I have always been interested in alternative health, so am going to study a western herbalist course. Anyway, I've entered a competition to help me cover the costs and would really appreciate others helping me out. Winners are decided on the number of votes you get. So, if you can spare a few minutes to go and vote for me, I'd really appreciate it. If you don't want to, then I understand  To vote, simply click on one of the numbers from 1-5 that appears under the picture. ING DIRECT My Dream Is... - Home

Green Chili chicken 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or however many you need) 1 can green chili enchilada sauce sliced onions, optional Throw everything in the crockpot. Cook on low 6 hours or so. If you are pressed for time, you can cook on high for about 4 hours, but the sauce tends to burn around the edge. Shred chicken with two forks and have on tacos, tostadas, or burritos. Also great the next day on salad.

I want to start investing in something as I've always heard to buy while the market is down. Then it hit me! Life insurance on my daughter's father. He is much older than me and I'm almost 40. I know it won't pay out (or I guess it could) but surely in 20 years or so, right? Can I take out a policy on someone else like that?

It may be a little early, but I got a call for a Christmas gig today. I've done this particular one for several years, and it's very nice. the last time I went, however, the hostess arranged for me to have transportation. (Before this, friends drove me there.) Anyway, she didn't pay me afterward, but told me she would send me a check, which she did. But it wasn't for the amount she said it would be. This happened to me at a local theater where I was the music director for several shows. The last one I did, I wasn't paid until several weeks after, which is not what we agreed on. I hate having to ask people for money, but I know I have to, and that I deserve t…

I don't have young children or boys but I always bring my great nephew a gift at Thanksgiving, early Christmas present and was wondering all you moms/dads of kindergarten aged boys out there what they like. He will be 6 this January. I'm having a hard time getting ideas from the grandmother or the mother! Any info would be appreciated. I have another 6 yo nephew who wants "powerful Pokemon" for his birthday! Too many six year olds to deal with this year! thanks Nancy.

My doctor wants me to take a cortisol test, and that's measured through urine output. So I have to pee into a container for 24 hours -- it looks awfully small to me and I'm wondering if I'll fill it up! We'll see. It's pretty gross to open up the refrigerator and see it sitting there. Blech.

:rolleyes2: So I went out last night and had a rip-roaring good time, I just love Halloween and dressing up! I was a pirate, which I've been for the past few years (what can I say - it's a fun costume and it fits). And when I was out laughing and dancing and having fun I stopped for a moment and thought - "Whoa!!! This will be my last fat Halloween!!" Of course I shared with my friends and we all celebrated. Next year at this time I will have been banded for about six months and will be rockin along in my new healthy body. Ahhhhhh, I can't wait! No more having to go to a special store or website just to find a costume that fits me. No more figuring out how I ca…

Hey all, I have some bad news. I am admitting myself to a mental hospital and won't be able to be around for some time. The reason is, is because I've been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and have been having panic attacks all month. I'll make this story somewhat short, so bear with me. I was home schooled all my life, until I begged my parents, to let me join a regular high school. Freshman year was okay, but my sophomore year was hell. I was stalked, sent death threats, was in verbal and physical fights with three girls from this school. Not only that, but the school administration told me it was my fault. The reason these girls picked on me? I was ta…

Acting has been an interest of mine all my life. I did get involved a few years ago, studying it at uni and also tafe (a college), but never stayed with it. I let my weight get in the way. I was way too self-conscious. I'm getting the band soon and I'm thinking now I might be able to give this a really good go. If I don't have the weight to stop me, then I might just be able to stick with it long enough to have some fun. I'm not expecting a huge career now, but to at least be able to work in the industry, maybe just teaching others, would be a blast. Anybody else been interested in acting at all?

Hello everyone. I am new to this website and I am desperately trying to find some way to have LapBand surgery; however, I just don't have the money available. The procedure, I was told, cost approximately $13,00 and Insurance WILL NOT cover one penny of it. Does anyone know of any way to have this procedure done, maybe a trial or experimentation, or group, etc. I am working hard and making enough each month to get by but I cannot get a personnel loan and don't know what else to do. I am approximately 150 lbs. overweight and my health is at risk. I am NOT asking for a handout, just some information to help me get this surgery done. I appreciate any and all suggestions. Tha…

OK.. who plays an instrument, sings, writes music, etc. What do you play? What style? Pro, simi-pro, wantabee pro, just for fun, just in the shower... etc. I will kick it off. I play guitar, bass, keyboards, some drums (a "root drummer" keeping the beat, but not great), some mandolin, dulcimer, and have played woodwinds, though I am about 10 years out of practice. I sing in the folk-rock style, but I have one of those voices that makes people miss the sound of Bob Dylan (sort of a joke, but I have a somewhat unique voice that some people love and some people not-so-much - I would have made it big in the 60's, except I wasn't born until 1960 and didn't start…

Hi all, I think this may be the first time I've done something like this. I was approached to be musical director for something which was called "an opera with jazz influence." I agreed to listen to the music, and decided it wasn't something I was interested in, so I turned it down. I didn't hear the influence from either genre, and the melody lines for the songs that were written seemed to have no shape; no theme, none of the traditional stuff I'm used to hearing in the music I've played. Has anyone else dealt with anything like that? Or have you ever simply turned down a music job for any reason?

Hi everyone: Mods - Feel free to move this to what you believe would be a more appropriate place as this was the closest one I could find. Anyhow....Sometime ago, I decided to start a YouTube Group (Yes Virginia, contrary to what you may have heard before, there ARE actual groups on YouTube :smile2: ). The group can be found here and the primary purpose of the group is use the power of VIDEO to do what we do on the boards - TALK LAP BAND!! Of course you can use text too, but that would kinda defeat the purpose of the group, now wouldn't it? There's also a general WLS discussion group on YouTube, which is here. And just so I don't have to repeat myself over and…

This is one of my staples: 8 oz skim milk 1 scoop Slimfast chocolate 1 frozen banana (peeled! LOL) 1 TBSP Peanut Butter Mix in a blender until smooth. The frozen bananas are the "ice" so you're not watering it down. Sometimes I add a second scoop of Slimfast if I need the Protein. Sometimes I add more peanut butter or even use the PB2 powdered peanut butter. Hope you like it! ~C

Hey gang... I just finished it... my "Ike Special" guitar. The three-string guitar, based on the depression-era "cigar box" guitars, was made from debris of hurricane Ike. It's an ugly guitar, but a fun thing. See it at my website, www.itsagodgig.org. Let me know what you think. Steve
