Investment idea - 1 million dollars - dead beat dad

I want to start investing in something as I've always heard to buy while the market is down.

Then it hit me! Life insurance on my daughter's father. He is much older than me and I'm almost 40. I know it won't pay out (or I guess it could) but surely in 20 years or so, right?

Can I take out a policy on someone else like that?
