DH & I are planning a family trip to Orlando for 6, our expense. We're leaning toward renting a villa over staying in a hotel. I've found tons of villas online, but I've noticed that most of the owners have UK email addresses and do not offer phone numbers to contact them. Several also require cash, check or MO payment. So my question to you guys - are there known "scams" that locals are aware of, but tourists continuously get trapped in? (Every city has at least one "haha, stupid tourist" pitfall that locals are aware of!) Any rental companies or people that you know, in particular, to avoid? How about any you know are legitimate?

I thought it would be interesting to see what kind of music you all are listening to. I personally am a huge fan of the Moody Blues, they would have to be my tip top all time favorite band. After that, I like almost all classic rock. Tom Petty, Eagles, Foghat, Ozzy! And am also VERY into Oakenfold, Sasha, Digweed, PVD.. if you know the names, you know the genre. *grins*

I just got a new job (YAY!) and I think I'm going to need something that will let me check e-mail and the web when I'm traveling. But I don't want a laptop, since I just bought a new desktop and really only want to use that. I have no idea what I'm doing, though, and could really use some help. Here are my questions: I have Verizon Wireless as my phone provider, and I really like it. Naturally, I just signed a new contract and got a new phone over the summer, and now I find I need more. But I've heard that I can buy a phone anywhere and make it work. Is that true? Is there any way to have two cell phones using the same number? I really like my cell phone and don't wan…

Hello everyone! I was just reading some other threads and it got me thinking to myself about my goals. They were discussing being able to cross their legs at a certain pants size, and another about certain sexual positions not acheivable the size they were at the time. I do not have an actual weight goal, I just wanted to go down a few sizes and keep the weight off this time. I usually tell people my true goal is to beable to sit on my hubbies lap w/out feeling like a "blob". So lets hear it, what are your "goals"???

The summer of 2007 has been amazing for me! It's almost like I'm afraid to bask in my good fortune too much for fear it will come back to bite me. But I have to share my happiness and let you all know what I've been up to. First, after having a slip diagnosed and my band removed in April, and then having my insurer say no to a replacement, I was pretty upset. But in short order I was able to change carriers, they approved my replacement band overnight, and on August 13 I was banded anew. Things have been going wonderfully with my recovery and healing; I'm now on solid food and REVELING in the ability to actually feel satisfied after a reasonable portion. And just this…

The koala says: "Smoking a joint, come up and have some." So the little lizard climbs up and sits next to the koala and they burn a few. After a while the little lizard says his mouth is 'dry' and is going to get a drink from the river. But the little lizard is so stoned that he leans too far over and falls into the river. A crocodile sees this and swims over to the little lizard and helps him to the side, then asks the little lizard: "What's the matter with you?" The little lizard explains to the crocodile …

They've all seen me lose weight on some diet/program, only to put it all back on again. 42. I wonder if being fat determines your hobbies, your perceptions on what is important, your goals OR is it the other way around? For example, if someone is fat and into computer gaming, did the person get into gaming because outdoor sports are too difficult at the heavy weight or did an interest in sedentary games make the person fat? What do you think? I see posts all the time on here about people who lose weight and are suddenly ironman athletes, interested in high energy activities. I have to wonder if being fat is what forms and shapes hobbies, careers, and dreams, rather than "video games make kids fat". chicken and the egg question - which came first, the fat p…

I had my surgery about 15 months ago. I lost about 25 pounds with the first fill, then after losing that weight lost restriction. I've been horrible about going back to get re-filled as appropriate. For about 7 months I've been at a plateau. I feel like I've sort of wasted the benefits of the surgery by not getting fills regularly. I'm scheduled to get another fill next week--hoepfully it'll give me restriction--but I just hope I haven't screwed myself by not going full speed ahead with the fills. I am worried my metabolism may have slowed down and now I won't lose weight as quickly as I did in the beginning. I still would like to lose about 40 more pounds, ideally (al…
