  1. Hi: I had my lap band surgery June 5, on June 23 I had a DVT (blood clot) in my left leg. I had lost 12 pounds but quickly gained it back. I had my first fill July 30, but I am still not losing weight. Any of you had problems with coumadin? Please write back.

Hi everyone! I just joined the site today. I have been watching you all for the past few months since I decided to get banded. I am really lame when it comes to forums and such, as I am not that savvy...Hopefully I will learn as I go. Please bare with me through this learning process. I am open for any suggestions to make this journey easier as well. Thank you, Lori

  3. the surgery is on a Thursday and I took Friday, Sat. Sun., Mon and Tue off from work. Do you think I will feel better by then? How long until you can drive? Do you need to put medicine on those cuts on your belly? I am sooo thankful that insurance approved me (I worked my tail off to get all of that together), and I have a family that supports me......I will start the liquid diet tomorrow. Thank you everybody for the help that you offer me and each other. Have a good one!

My goal is 199 which i had hoped to hit by my 40th b-day on August 14 but not meant to be for me so I changed it to by my bandiversary....... despite being in this prolonged plateau and not meeting my goal for by b-day, I am still extremely grateful for what I have accomplished & try to not get frustrated...I feel & look better, blood pressure and blood sugars are good (no meds), feet don't hurt, I've gone from wearing 26/28 to 16's & 18's. I have a surgeon's appointment the day after tommorrow and I have been researching WLS for a number of years....but have decided to go with the band if possible....other than the usual questions to ask about the surgeons experience (going to the Cleveland Clinic), things to expect, testing before surgery etc, is there one question that YOU as a BANDER didn't ask that you wished you would have asked before your decision to get banded???

Hi there. I've been thinking about WLS for almost 3 years and have been waiting for surgery since January, now that it is 6 days away I am feeling a bit nervous! I am excited and a little scared. My biggest worry is how I am going to deal with cravings. I have lost 30lbs since January while waiting for surgery, I yo-yo like crazy between about 6 lbs up and down. My eating is most difficult around my monthly cycle when I crave the junk. I am also a vegetarian and have been for almost 20 years. i am curious if it will be difficult to get the Protein without the bulk. I am also a single working parent of a 7 year old and do not have a ton of support, I have 1 goo…

Hi I've had my lapband for 2 years now. Everything was going great, had lost about 85 lbs, was feeling great, getting some confidence back, then my problem started. I lost all restriction. Went to see my Dr. and he did a fill, almost immediatly could not tell a difference but thought I should wait a few days to see if it would kick in. I kind of felt there was something not right but was trying to keep positive. Also my heartburn had returned with a vengence - which I told my Dr., Anyway, to make a long story short I have been in and had a fill almost every week for the last month and a half - no change. He said I don't have symptomes of a slip or erosion but now s…

I was very impressed with Dr. Ortiz and his facility just over the border in Tijuana. The first week post surgery was the toughest for me. So far I've lost 23 pounds. A friend of mine had her surgery about 15 months ago and she has lost 80 pounds and has reached her goal weight. I'm hoping I'll be as successful. Begone:rolleyes2:

Third fill done in xray, I was so discouraged and ready to give up. I complained loudly that I only felt restriction on the first day and by the next morning, nothing. I've never particularly liked beans (it's a texture thing) or cottage cheese, and protein drinks are pretty expensive. I was doing fine until the death of my husband last year and since that time, I have lost all motivation. The fact that I have come back to this site and am asking for your help must mean that I am finally deciding to get back on track. I am thinking about getting banded and I am not sure. My sister had gastric bipass over 5yrs ago and thinks it's best thing since butter on bread. But I have seen her get sick, and have seen her go through that "dumping feeling". Does that also happen with banding? How do you continue to go out to eat with family and friends when you are finished eating in 5 minutes and the rest of the party will be eating for the next hour or more. I just don't know if I can do this. Physically, my body is screaming for it, I know I need it, mentally I just don't know. :confused2:
