It was by no mean the dreaded dumping, but last night I had about tablespoon of salmon didn't like it so stopped eating. Then I realized I had one more calcium chewable tablet I forgot to take so I slowly started to chew that till finished. Shortly after I felt this huge pressure in the center my chest. It felt a massive bit of air and I just needed a good burp....but couldn't get it out. Then I was nauseated and coughed and up came my liquid calcium fluid twice. After about ten min. I took 5 MLS of raglan and felt better. So I think I didn't give time to let my full feeling kick in before I took the calcium. It surprised me because usually I eat more than 2 spoonfuls. …

So I'm 3 weeks todays and feeling great. I've been a little tired but my energy is coming back. Over the weekend I had my first NSV...or shall I say I had two? I was going out with friends and went shopping for a new outfit....after being in a 22 for so long I can actually fit a 16. I have never worn a 16. When I was this size I was a teenager and I wore mens clothes anyway so I didn't know what a 16 looked like...and now I do!!! And my second NSV...I was the sober driver. I had an ok time...it wasn't really my scene but hanging out with friends and being able to relax and enjoy myself without being intoxicated felt great!!

Hi all! My name is Mimi. I am 31 from NYC. I have been overweight, obese or now morbidly obese my whole life. Three years ago I was diagnosed with Moyamoya disease after having several "mini strokes.". I have endured countless evasive tests as well as a brain bypass so I'm not about to let my weight kill me. It's time I get serious about my health so I can live the long happy life I was meant to. I am scheduled to see a Bariatric surgeon next week, so I am still very early in the process, but I have my mind made up -- I want the band. I decided on the band because of the short recovery process as I hope to be able to return to work within one week. One thing that…

  15. Holy crud... 1 week from today (5/15) is my surgery. I am totally freaking now. I am scared of the pain, scared of the actual surgery - people die in surgery! I have had surgery before but not something "elective" so to speak. I know I NEED to lose the weight and dieting doesn't work long term for me so the sleeve is a great option. I read peoples postings abut how they thought about this for years and had to do all this "pre" stuff..... Prior to 2/17/12 I was one of those people who thought bariatric surgeries were the easy way out!! Boy has the opinion changed!!!! Maybe the fact that 3 months after my seminar on the different procedures I am actually going to be having …

I'm on my last week of liquid only and am sooo excited about all of the good things I have seen on this forum. I started thinking about getting the sleeve done about two years ago. I had been working out with a trainer for over a year and only lost 20lbs because of my eating...I would do good for a little bit and then give in to temptation..I knew I needed help. 22. Just spent the weekend changing over the winter clothes to the summer clothes (a new england tradition) I knew there would be some clothes that would not longer fit; but did not realize that 95% of them no longer remotely fit my new sleeved body. Rather than keep the old clothes, just in case, I have chosen to remove it all so I can't go back. I have always been considered a nice dresser and people I work with have actually asked me for my "too big" clothes - so, I have divided them amongst the people who have supported me over the past few months, put some in consignment and gave some to the homeless shelter. The experience was cleansing and rewarding. My closest is…

I never struggled with my weight until my mid 20's. Even when I gained 50 pounds in college I was able to lose it with no problem. After having 3 kids in 3 years in my late 20's I gained 150 pounds and had tried everything to lose the weight with no success. After several years of trying to lose the weight I gave up and told myself that my weight gain was genetic and there was nothing I could do about it. Then in November of last year I lost a very close uncle at the age of 53 due to complications related to Type II …

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I'm beginning to seriously research lap band. I've been certain for over a year that lap band is the right step for me but because of lack of insurance I haven't perused it. I've decided to begin to save for the surgery on my own. I've been searching for prices in the US and have found everything from $10000 to $30000. My partner is a little uncertain about the surgery and made me promise to stay state side to have the surgery done rather than going to Mexico. I currently live in California on the Central Coast. I'm willing to travel in the US for my surgery. I've tried diets and exercise and have been disappointed with the results. Ev…

I must say the sleeve already seems like a much better fit than the lap band as I have already lost 5 pounds! However, i wonder when will the pain end? When I drink anything other than water right now, I get a pain in the top part of my stomach. Is that normal? It feels a little scary to me even though the doctor said that its normal. Hi, I had the sleeve done on 4/24/2012 and I returned home on 4/27/12. Out of all my research prior to surgery nothing prepared me for the constipation after. I soon learned by the end of week (last week) to leave my prescribed pain medication alone and use extra extra strength Tylenol if needed for pain. Next i leraned to to follow my physician's direction to get up and walk. Folks the key is keep moving along with taking your fluids daily to aid in alleviating the constipation problem. Also, I now take Metamucil to help add fiber to my diet daily.

Plus, tomorrow I have 2 tests that require food-and-drink fasting, so after my first day of 600-900 cals I go without food and water for 14 hours, then quick squeak in a shake before fasting for another 6 hours. Kinda tough. Going to make it, though! :-)
