Hey guys! I have recently started the process of being preapproved for the sleeve. The nutritionist gave some directions on vitamins to start taking now, but I can't seem to find any that will meet all the criteria. *multivitamin with: -900 mcg copper -folic acid -iron -magnesium -5k to 10k IU vitamin A -15 mg vitamin E -15 mg zinc *calcium with vitamin d and vitamin k -1200 mg calcium -400 IU vitamin D - 80 mcg vitamin K Do any of ya'll happen to know a chewable I can get that has all of this? Thanks so much!

  3. So my surgery is Tuesday, July 17th and I did my pre-op testing yesterday, July 11th. However- this morning I received a call from my surgeons office that there was a mixup and my nicotine level test was never ordered and I needed to come to the office today to provide a urine sample, because they take a few days to get back. Anyone have any experience with this situation? It’s a bit frustrating, because had I been tested at pre-op testing, they probably would have the results already... but now I’ve gotta wait and hope the surgery isn’t delayed.

When you got home from the hospital, did you need someone around for a few days to help you in any way? I live alone and am wondering about that.

Hey everyone I have a couple questions. So I'm about to have surgery on July 10th and I am about to start my 2-week liquid-only diet. Can anyone recommend a good protein flavorless whey powder. I've tasted the clear drinks and I really do not like them. If anybody has recommendations I would appreciate the information. Also was there a lot of discomfort after the surgery? Like are you able to do normal stuff everyday? I know that I can't be lifting anything. I was also wondering if there was another person who was pre opt that might have any kind of anxiety/nerves. I haven't gotten to that point yet but I'm pretty sure that I might as I get closer to my surgery date and w…

  11. Hello all! I've had my first visit with my surgeon and he has asked that I drop THIRTY pounds. I go back next month to set a surgery date (his schedule is 2 months out.) I have used Herbalife and lost some weight. But i can no longer tolerate the taste, nor the price for a potential long term tool. Today I discovered premier protein but i have read mixed reviews as far as using as an actual diet. I have a lot to lose in a little bit of time. Any tips/advice as to what i should expect? Thanks in advance

  14. Might seem like a silly question but thought I would go ahead and ask as I've been in awe of the great community on this forum... I'm currently in the pre-op cycle of appointments and preparing for surgery. I just signed up for the gym and have started an exercise program, I've been on a lower carb diet to start to prepare for the surgery, I've cut out soda all together (9 days now! AHHHH!!!) and am just trying to make some smarter choices as I look forward to getting a date at the beginning of September for (what I believe will be) an October surgery. That being said, while I've been able to make or, at least, start to make, these changes (Oh- I even have tri…

I'm considering writing a book about being morbidly obese and the struggles related to it and also how losing weight has improved my quality of life. For reference, I've lost over 250 pounds myself. I really want to make sure I don't leave anything out. So, will you let me know your biggest struggle and, after your surgery, what are you looking forward to enjoying? It can be anything... even if you think it's silly. Thanks everyone!

I'm new to this site, just found it today! I've gone through the 6mos of dr visits, etc, and have already been approved for gastric bypass. I'm frustrated with my surgeons office. I was on track to have surgery in May, but they dropped the ball by not scheduling me for the required pre-surg classes. Now I'm 10 wks out from a big vacation and still not scheduled for surgery. I was hoping to be 4 months post-op and able to walk better with weight loss. This really has me down and I've decided to postpone my surgery until Oct. I haven't told them yet. Hey y'all so I went for my first consultation with my surgeon last Tuesday. I really like him and have come to terms with making the decision to move forward with the VSG surgery. I have an anxiety disorder and even though I am excited to have this surgery....I feel like I have been in a pseudo anxiety/panic attack about it for the last two days. I have gone to my doctor for the past 4 months (my 5th apt is next week) so things are moving much faster than normal since I have all those documented visits so we scheduled my endoscopy for next Friday. Does anyone else suffer from generalized anxiety disorder? IF so did you panic months and weeks before surgery? I hate it, it …

Since I have Rheumatoid Arthritis my date has to be a month after approval so I can come off my RA meds for a month before the procedure. Anyone else have to deal with this? I'll also have to be off of them for a month after surgery. In the long run, I know it will be worth it but I'm wondering what I'm facing being off those meds for 2 months.

I was approved for surgery last april but let friends and family talk me out of it, a year later and I am regretting it, my doctor has referred me again and I am anxiously awaiting approval. I so hope its approved again, but while I wait I am doing as much research as I can and have decided to start the pre op diet in anticipation. Is that crazy? I've been on this journey for some time and have lost over 100 lbs doing WW, keto and paleo over the past few years but I need to lose another 70 and its bein stubborn I NEED new tools. Just wanted to take a moment and thank everyone. All the stories and questions and frustrations as well as successes have helped me get my head in the right place and not feel so alone. I’m in the pre op stage. Don’t have a surgery date yet. But have been meeting with the NUT. Going to have all the medical tests done next week. Already had the psyc evaluation. Didn’t realize until afterwards how afraid I was of being told I didn’t qualify. So thankful for having a place to go for support.

Good morning everyone hope you all had a good weekend. Ok so here is my issue. I have had my family support from the day I told them I was going to get the surgery. But out of the blue yesterday my mom said she would like to see me not go through with it and just loose it on my own. Since I have lost a few pounds over the last month on my own she just thinks I should do it that way. I have lost weight on my own before. Many times. I always gain it back and then some. As does she. She's had yo-yo weight all her life as well. I want this tool to help me get and stay on track. I don't know where this came from as far as her wanting me to not do it all of a sudden…

Okay so here is the entire story here. I have posted in bits and pieces in replies to others. So I started my pre diet liquid only mind you. At three weeks prior to my June 13th surgery date. I have NASH or severe fatty liver or whatever they are calling it now a days 5/24th I started it. I did really good I was doing my liquid protein and broth, sf jello and popsicles and a cup of yogurt. Then on the 30th and 31st I fell off it because I had found out I couldn’t have broth nor yogurt. The surgeons office said the sodium in broth would not release the fat around the liver. And the yogurt was too much milk products since I’m using premier shakes. S…

Warning for TMI: I am on the third day of the preop liquid diet. Can only drink three meal replacement smoothies provided by the surgeon. I always see talk about people getting constipated form surgery and the liquid diet before it, but I'm having the opposite problem and the poop is super dark. Thank goodness that I work from home so I can run to the bathroom, but I'm scared I'm one trusted fart away from a disaster. Is this normal and what can be done about it?

  38. So basically my program did not require any weight loss, they just didn't want me to gain weight. Today I have my appointment with my surgeon to schedule the surgery, and I'm so concerned they are going to weigh me. I went on vacation after my last appointment with the nutritionist and have gained about 5 pounds back that I lost. Do you think they will postpone my surgery? I mean technically I did still lose weight over the course of the program, which was more than they asked for anyways. Anyways, do you think I'll be okay to schedule my surgery today? I was recently diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea and was told I needed to use a CPAP machine whenever sleeping. I always had a problem with fatigue before but I'm plan tired now. This machine keeps me up all hours of the night. I've tried having the pressure reduced and have tried all the different masks. I just can't get use to this new addition to my life. Also it feels like I'm having a harder time than normal breathing while I'm awake. Has anyone else had problems adjusting to a CPAP?

I have been an avid baker and cook my whole life. This morning I went through my kitchen a gathered all of my baking ingredients and sweets; tons of chocolate chips, sugars, lard, shortening, condensed milk, etc and put it all in a storage bin. I couldn't bring myself to get rid of it so I put it out of sight in the basement. Just now, I threw it all out. It was liberating. I remember years ago I burned my ex's love letters that I had held on to for years, after that I was able to finally move on. It felt good getting rid of that food myself, like an alcoholic clearing out their liquor cabinet on the path to a new start.
