Could use an extra prayer or two. Going through a rough time with a new boss at work and some coworkers that have been harassing me over this surgery for months now. It's all getting to be overwhelming. I applied for a new position and I'm just praying that they call me in for an interview and I get it. It would be a fabulous new start after this surgery. Kind of a career reset with my physical reset. :)

I hear you. I'll probably get called for my interview during my 2 weeks off. Very big job. I hope I don't answer questions in a drug induced state!

Lisa, I am totally thinking the same thing! Lol I'm so worried that I'll think I'm fine, but really sound like I'm high on something. Haha they're supposed to call the week OF my surgery. I'm hoping they call Monday or Tuesday cause I have surgery Wednesday.

I think I will miss popcorn, pizza and fried chicken! :)

I was doing pretty good at low carbs this past week, but in a panic today, so I am eating pizza. Tomorrow's a new day! My doctor only asked for low carb the week before which starts Tuesday.

Hi all! I am also a June baby! My surgery is scheduled for June 3rd. My emotions are all over the place. One moment I want to cancel everything, and another moment I can't wait to have the surgery. My biggest downfall is researching the Internet and reading so many regrets. But I also see how people say the surgery was the best thing that ever happened to them....or wish they had done the surgery many years before. I just pray to God I am making the right decision for myself and my family. Congratulations to all the June babies!

I wanna take my kids to Disney World and for on the rides. I wanna be able to look good in a 2 piece bathung suit. I wanna have sex without my legs cramping up. I really wanna feel sexy' date=' confident, and stop hearing you have a beautiful face. "If you just lost a little weight you would be gorgeous. " ehh I'd love not to have to spend a fortune on clothes. I'd love to feel like I don't need to settle for mediocre when I deserve better. I want to believe what I just wrote. I want to not have to use baby power between my legs and under my stomach. I have high expectations but I know the work it will take. And I want all these things for all of you too. :)[/quote']

hi..I trully feels like you. I told my husband my dream come true will be going in to any girls stores(bebe, juicy couture, and so on) and not having to first see what are theyre biggest size. I wanna be able to be in style...i want to be able to look at myself in the mirror and think I look great! Keep your motivation....we will all get thru this.

And yest..if it was that easy theyre would be obese people in the world.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
