WrightNow,

I am from Pittsburgh, PA! (GO Steelers!!!) lol and I know what you mean. It makes me feel like I won't be alone on the chopping block come D-day. Lol I'm so excited I can't stand it! I went through my lap band removal surgery 2 months ago only to wake up and find out they couldn't do my RNY in the same surgery, so here I go again! Lol I DID find the silver lining though--- we got a new boss at work and he is (no lie) the devil. So while he figured himself out, I'll be lounging out at home! Haha

I submitted to insurance today and if all goes well then my surgery will be June 12. This process has been so fast I just started the whole thing May 5!!!! I'm really hoping my insurance approves and I don't have to change anything so I can keep my June 12 surgery day!!!

Wow. Started on May 5th??? What were ur requirements? I thought my process was fast. First appt was 3/22 and my surgery is June 5th. And could have been May 29th.

My clinic wanted to get things done fast since I change insurance in Aug. I was required to write a 10 page research paper, email 10 previous patients, see psychologist, surgeon, nutritionist, primary, labs, a family support letter and a 16 paragraph consent form. After my first seminar I cut out sodas, an they made my appointments after all my appointments I turned everything in yesterday and today se sent it off to insurance. All those requirements were for my clinic and not my insurance for insurance I had to have a BMI over 40, pay my portion, and to see all the specialist.

Time for a a little Q&A!

What is everyone's biggest dream out of getting RNY in June?? -- maybe wear a pair of shorts, just be skinny, or even to spark some extra fun in your relationship with your new (hopefully more flexible) body?? ;) haha

Mine is to FINALLY not be "the fat girl". Holy moly am I ever excited to drop that title! Lol as long as I can even remember, I've always been the token day girl in every room.

My 2nd is to be able to buy a "normal" Halloween costume from an actual costume shop. For years I have been inventing my own and I can't wait to just buy one and feel like a hot honey! :P

I've got a couple. I want to be able to wear some heels with my suits when I go to court. I hope having less weight makes the job easier on my poor feet. :-) I also want to not be the fat girl. I'm in the same boat as you wannabewifey. All my life, I was the fat kid, the fat friend, the fat lawyer...I just want to be small. Not skinny, just small. And I totally plan to have a semi-nude photo shoot, with makeup galore and super big hair whenever I hit my goal weight...the amount of nudity TBD. LOL

I just want to look good in jeans and a t-shirt, be comfortable around other people, to be healthier, and to be comfortable with myself. I'm always covering up because of my size, even when I'm at home

Haha bjroberts417,

One thing I am totally excited to do is a boudoir photo shoot for my finances wedding gift after I hit goal weight. I won't start planning our wedding until I know I will be skinny and look pretty in my dress. Lol pathetic, I know.

Sure I'm ready to have a figure and not look like an m&m made with too many nuts, but mainly I want to dance without being out of breath and red as a Tomato after the first song.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
