  1. The one thing that I miss soooo much is drinking with meals. I am so thirsty I can hardly ignore it. Then I have to wait 1 1/2 - 2hrs for a drink!!!! I can never remember to drink an hour before my meal because my meal times are not planned. I guess I need to plan EVERYTHING. I am so "NOT" organized and it's gonna be so hard to keep track of time. Maybe once the kids are back in school it'll be easier. Once I lose the weight, can I drink w/ meals again?

I am sure this question has been asked and answered somewhere on this board...but can't find it. So, when we BP that is different than a "normal" burp, right? I ask because I am only 8 days out and nearly every time I eat I burp....it's not gross, nor does anything come up....just a burp or two. I call this my STOP you are done eating burp!! Any comments?

I went in for a fill yesterday & was told that I have a 3cc band & that I now have a total of 2.5cc in. I haven't heard of a 3cc band. Has anyone else? I don't really feel more restriction but I am finally getting the "full" feeling. Praise God!! I am being good & drinking a protein shake that I made in my personal mixer (thanks DeLarla!) right now.

  10. I am two weeks post op and am very hungry. We are on vacation at the beach and I have four kids to still cook for plus hubby. I am now eating solid food really chewed up. Is this o.k.? I feel that I am cheating and will not lose weight. I haven't been on a scale in five days so I do'tknow is I have lost or not. Should I stop eating normal food chewed really well. I am only two weeks post op. I shouldn't be filled for 4 more weeks. What do I do. I feel fine, except that I am cheating myself. Help. Is this normal to eat so much mushie food? Thanks, Buffy

Tonight I am going to have my first real food since being banded. I must admit I'm kind of scared. I've cooked the chicken "to death" as my husband puts it, so I know it will be tender and I'm having French-style string Beans which should be no problem. But still, I'm worried something will get stuck and I will vomit and my band will move and I'll have to start all over again!

I'm 3 weeks post op and I'm going horseback riding tomorrow. I didn't ask anybody (MD) if I could... I'm not really sure what I can and can't do at this point in recovery. I just think I'm well enough to do it. Can anybody think of a good reason why not? We have a dog that has been gone for a week and he licked up some chlorine (sp?) crystals (as a guy who was working on our pool spilled some) and I want to go ride the places where I think he might be. He might have just gone into the woods and died????

It's almost exactly a year since I was banded, and while I thought I'd be under 170 pounds by now -- we all have our fantasies -- it's been a rewarding year, except for some "female trouble." I've been going for lots of gyne tests and biopsies over the past two months, and (on the advice of two specialists) will be having a hysterectomy on Oct. 3. After a quick search on LBT I realized that several women here have undergone this surgery either before or after banding. Anything I should know that hasn't been posted elsewhere (e.g., on Vera's thread)? I'm not as freaked out as I was when I had an enormous cyst along with a tube and ovary removed years ago, probably becau…

I didn't "feel" restriction really. I am not drinking with meals. What do you guys think??? Does this sound right to you, or do you usually eat much less?? My Dr. did tell me that everyone is very different in terms of the fill amount, size of stomach, amount of fat around the stomach ect..... so I know that can be different, but how about the amount everyone is able to eat??? Thanks for the input - boy wha…

  23. Today I recorded my food consumption on Fitday.com and after dinner things were looking pretty good. So why did I then go and eat more? I wasn't hungry:( . But I felt compelled to eat; I have a pain in my chest because I ate a sandwich and several biscuits on top of my dinner!!! I feel like an idiot. If it didn't start hurting I would not have stopped eating. Hello all, I have a few questions and need some advice. I was baned on the 5th of August and I had a question about ice cream. I took my kids to friendly's the other day and I wanted to have ice cream too. I ordered sugar free vanilla with sugar free hot fudge, was this a better choice, or should I have gone with something fat free? Someone told me that sugar free is not always better as it means more fat. Now I am upset with my decision and feeling guilty that I ate it. Pre-band I would have eaten a big sundae filled with peanut butter and hot fudge and of course not sugar free. I guess I am feeling a little guilty because in the first week I lost 21 pounds, but a…

(it probably has been done on here many times before, but I was so excited about it, I wanted to share.) Even my 8 year old daughter ate one and fell in love with it. She wanted to take two to school today. I took jicima, zucchini, red and green bell pepper, baby carrots, spring onions and a raw sweet potato and just did finger length slices of everything and then took three thin slices of turkey(made some ham ones as well) and put a mixed combination of the veggies on the turkey and then rolled it u…

This is a second-hand story, so take it with a grain of salt. My cubicle buddy at work has a sister with the band. He told me that she became very very ill with a Vitamin D deficiency. He said she should have been taking supplements but did not. She is only now able to walk again, but lost her job as an attorney because her short-term memory has never completely returned. I thought this sounded horrifying, but yet he seemed to believe it was all preventable. Now obviously we need to be eating right, but I wondered if any one knew about other experiences like this, or if maybe you can let me know what your doctor told you about taking vitamin supplements, getting the prope…

Hey ya'll I am going to kick the caffine habit. I started Sunday with only drinking water (propel counts for me) I realized that I have a habbit with caffine. Ilove Chi Tea and Mt. Dew. So maybe this will help with the weight too. Although that is not my concerne. The last time I did this I had a headache for three days. I think it was the de toxing. I felt wonderful after day four. I wonder now why I ever started drinking Caffinated things again. So I choose water because I know there is no caffine I won't cheat. Anyone want to join me? I could use some support buddies.

Hi Angeleyes, I noticed you were banded in Provo. I just flew back home from Provo yesterday. I have some questions for you. I'm wondering if your MD does fills for people banded in Mexico. Eventhough I don't live in Provo anymore, I visit there often and it may be a good place to get fills??? I read that you were once looking into being banded in Mexico but ended up getting it in the states. How did you get them to do it w/ low BMI? I didn't even try very hard to get it here because my BMI was low and my health was too good, other than the extra 40-50 I was packing : ) Just wondering : )
