  1. :biggrin1: I understand exactly what you mean about no restriction. I have the 4cc band which was "installed" June of '05. It took what seem like forever to finally feel the restriction. I am 3.5cc full. I "fer sure" have restriction now! I tell other bandsters that I meet that if you can eat bread then you need a fill. I have not eaten bread, pasta or flour tortillas in so long. I miss the tortillas alot when I'm enjoying the chicken fajita meat. It has been 9 months since banded and have lost almost 60 lbs. I have come to the realization that unfortanately the weight comes off very slowly. Sometimes, I get depressed and frustrated at the "slowness", especially when I go to work everyday and see so many people that have had the bypass surgery and they are 4 months post-op and have lost 80 lbs. I have to keep reminding myself that the slow weight loss was the reason I chose the band over bypass. Please remember that each of our bodies are different and you will definately know when you have the correct restriction. Also, enjoy the hotdog cuz your time is coming!
  2. I am a service representative for SBC. Been with Bell for about 9 yrs now. I was a stay-at-home mom until my youngest went to kindegarten. She's a sophomore now and I have another daughter who is in college now.
  3. I know exactly how you feel. I was banded the day after you and I am only down 15 pounds (maybe). I went for 2 fills and on the second they said we can't do it cuz the port flipped. I had to wait 2 more weeks then I went in got it flipped back over and a fill of 2cc's. I eat so much less and even try to exercise a couple times a week but nothing happens. I feel like such a failure...especially when I get on here and see everyones weight tickers. I am really starting to think that this is not going to work for me.
  4. Cedar Hill here! Hi Midlothian, sitting right next to ya on 67!
  5. I was banded on 06-16-05 and went back 3wks later to the day. My doctor told me to take the time off and my company approved it with pay so I ran with it!
  6. Cats!!! They take care of themselves! milk chocolate or dark chocolate?? Yum!
  7. Just heard today that Baylor Weightloss in Dallas is now out of network for UHC. So, now what? Do I find a new Dr. in network? What happens now? Does anyone know?
  8. I just have a question...is everybody really exercising whole heartedly? I just cannot get motivated. I realize I need to but I am soooo exhausted after work. Is anyone losing without exercising?
  9. I was banded 07-16-05. I went and had my 1st fill at 6 wks post-op which was supposed to have been 1.5cc's. I called the dr. the week after and told them that I still have no restriction. I can eat anything and everything...no getting stuck just sliding on down. The dr. set up another appt for a fill. So, I went last week to get another fill (8 wks post-op) and they couldn't get in the port. I am under a fluoro each time and do NOT get numbed. She was digging and poking for over 15 mins. Finally, she said that she believed my port has probably flipped and most likely didn't get the 1st fill. (how nice to know that saline is just floating around in me...like I need any xtra weight!) She now has arranged for me to meet the dr. ( the p.a.'s do the fills for my dr.) at the surgery ctr this week and if the dr. can't get it filled then he will cut thru my scar, flip it back over then fill it. Sounds fun, huh? LOL!! If the weight doesn't start falling off after that then I GIVE UP! I have gained back almost all of the weight that I lost in the first place. What do all of ya'll think about this? I am soooooo frustrated.
  10. I never was one to burp or let out a "tweek" (fart) before I had this surgery. I even had a stomach doctor tell me that I needed to burp and "tweek" but I told him that I just can't. I don't even know how to burp! Now, that doctor would be so proud of me! LOL! Does anyone but me have soooo much gas? Thank goodness they aren't the stinky ones! LOL!
  11. Wow! You ladies deserve more than medals. I thought I had it bad...my mom has multiple personality disorder so I never knew what was going on. She either hated me ot loved me to death. We didn't find out about her problem until I was about 22 or 23 but when we did find out it was like oooooo! We always did call her crazy...we have proof now! LOL!
  12. After I had my fill, like immediately, I felt like a had a big lump in my throat. Did anybody feel like this?
  13. I just had my 1st fill today and was told only clear liquids for a couple of days. Why??? I am hungry.
  14. Oh, by the way your name is Keri and mine is Cari.
