I don't know why you were told no food. Some doctors are very conservative, others are not. When I had my fill I was advised "maybe soup for dinner." I want to say other than that, no restrictions, but isn't that the point of a fill? :)

I just got home from getting a fill and my doctor always tells me liquids the remainder of the night, back to solids the next day. Each doctor has their own rules though, and it is best to do what he tells you to do. You could discuss it with him next time you go though.

He probably wants you on liquids incase you swell up. The lump in your throat might be you feeling that swelling, it which case it's probably good that you aren't eating.

A couple of days is nothing :)
