Thought it might be fun to get some recommendations for new grocery items to add to my shopping list. Spices, grab n go items, anything really.

I’ll add a couple of my new faves below!

  • Just crack an egg. I could prepare the ingredients myself but this is great for when I’m lazy. I use an egg white instead of a whole egg.

  • I love most flavors of Greek yogurt, but my absolute fave is this Caramel Apple Pie yogurt. Has chunks of baked apple in it and it really hits the spot!!

Great thread idea! Here are a couple I like a lot. Chili Lime Chicken Burgers from Trader Joe‘s Frontera Grill marinade/sauces are a great way to add a ton of flavor with minimal calories

I found these Probiotic Mjni Cookies at Aldi...I usually have a half serving...but 1 gram of protein per cookie. Not huge, but yummy and perfect for my tiny tummy!

Edited to add Way better than making them myself!!

I tried this chocolate hummus with strawberries. Didn’t love it but helped with chocolate craving a bit.

Personally, I have been to Aldi twice. Once to see what the excitement was about and the second time to make sure that the first time was not just a weird happening. Granted, I keep kosher, so i was not expecting to purchase cheeses or meats there. (i only eat cheeses without animal rennent) But I did not find anything exciting or great pricing. The produce appeared old and wilted, and boxed items and pantry items were too close to expiration for my liking. I did find some European condiments that were a "fun" purchase, and tons of snack items like chips and cookies, crackers and cereal.

So I get a bunch of targeted ads on Facebook for food products due to the amount of Googling for low-cal, low-carb recipes and foods that I do. I rarely check them out but this one made me too curious. I was supposed to get my delivery yesterday, but FedEx and I have a not great relationship and so the package never showed. Won't get it until Tuesday now. Still, I am very hopeful and will be sure to update once I get the chance to taste them.

Another Aldi winner. These are super good, so far I prefer the cinnamon over the lemon. Aldi’s is so inexpensive, these are 1.65 for a pack of 6.

The Hershey’s SPECIAL DARK cocoa powder is a for less caloric method ? I think it’s 15 calories for a TBSP and is delicious in oatmeal (with the sweetener of your choice!). Also good in the various mug cakes, etc.

I mix cocoa powder into one of the ultra-light vanilla yogurts - like Light & Fit or Carbmaster. That'll do the trick as well - plus give you a boost of protein, too!

As a public service announcement, both my mom and I thought the Snickerdoodles tasted like they dropped dish soap into the cookie batter! Stay away!

I didn't see any! But that would make sense!

I’m not usually a fan of 100 calorie packs, but these ones are great. From Aldi of course. lol! Not too much nutritional value but very yummy and satisfies sweet tooth. Also pretty filling (which I don’t usually find to be the case with 100 calorie snack packs).
