@KaysMommy your gala dress looks great on you...I don't see anything remotely close to resembling fat on you at all (if anything I think you could go tighter on that dress to highlight your teeny waist and the va-voom of curve it creates with your hips!) A killer pair of heels and you will have people doing that slow-follow-stare as you walk by. ❤️

How are you going to wear your hair? Down with luscious waves perhaps???

Thank you. I always wear my hair down long and straight. I was thinking either a low side bun with a few curled tendrils or down with waves. Last year I was 40 pounds heavier and felt miserable at the gala. This year I can’t wait to show off all my hard work.

Good morning lovely ladies. I haven’t been posting much because I just have been feeling fat and self-conscious. It started when I got my winter gala dress in the mail. My hubby said it looked good on me, just don’t gain any weight. That hit something in me. So I started IF on Sunday. I was down to 135 this morning, and tried on my dress again. It is way out of my comfort zone. I need honest opinions please. Can I pull this off? Then a picture of my OOTD. It’s supposed to rain all day, and snow tomorrow. Winter is here.

OKAY! Like take my breath away... This little black dress is GORGEOUS on you! You have such beautiful legs, arms and silhouette, kays Mom! It flatters you in a way the pretty florals don't quite capture - Do send us the outfit complete on your special gala night. Hubby and daughter must be over in the moon with joy and pride for their ROCKIN wife and mom.

My inconsequential vote: Down With Waves!

@KaysMommy

Echoing what everyone else has said ... you look absolutely fantastic! I agree with @ms.sss that if the dress was more fitted, it would REALLY set off your hourglass figure! Do they have an XS?

Sorry, but your husband,s comment was inconsiderate and rude. All respect to @FluffyChix, but at a 21 BMI you don't need to IF for weight loss, and you really don't need to eat 500 cals. What you need is to tell your husband he needs to learn to appreciate his hot wife!

IF you want to feel a little more confident, maybe some faux Spanx and booty boosting panties? But totally not needed!

I also love the idea of waves. Just put your hair up in a tight french braid the night before and have glorious waves for the gala!

Edit: Because I missed your comment about not being able to wear heels :(

As an aside, I haven't really lost any significant weight lately but I am finding that some of my clothes are looking big-ish on me, no?. Picture below case in point. Even my beloved boots are looking droopy....

Solution: more SHOPPING.

Same experience, and same solution 🤣

Although well meaning and loving, Significant Others can knock the wind right out of your Magnificent Sails and they are quite magnificent darling so... try not to let them. Or anyone.

(I think women in particular tend to allow this more than men. IDK why but Dropping this here for inspiration 😬)

I was addressing her comments about "feeling fat". And I have days like that. It doesn't mean it's disordered thoughts or behaviors. It means I'm retaining Fluid and so I do go back to IF with my low low days filled with lots of low cal food. The bloat leaves, I get some added bonus of autophagy, pain levels decrease, asthma symptoms improve. I'm back down in the range I'm comfy in and then it's life as usual. That what motivated my advice to her...so she would feel more confident in her body and her dress. I agree she doesn't need to lose weight---she looks smokin hot right now. But how we feel inside our body is often quite different.

And her hubs comment was totally BS.

(And no offense meant or taken. :) )

You make it look easy to pull together an elegant look. Stunning.

Thank you! ❤️

I think that is one of the things I hated most before WLS. No matter how much my outfits cost, or how much care I took getting ready, I never felt either elegant nor pulled together.

I changed the belt and added a necklace and bracelets. I wish I had a lower neckline tshirt or a turtleneck. I think it's better? I don't, need to spend quality time with Amazon. :D But I think adding the accessories helped detract from the stark difference in the neckline. Right?

Late to the party ... but agree the necklace totally makes the higher neckline of the tshirt a non issue. You look fab

And animal prints better stay in style for the next decade so I can get my money's out of my recent wardrobe "investments" 🤣

Yay!!! You got the boots? I want to see pics of them every day you wear them!!!!!

Don't you have a short black skirt and black or gold tight turtleneck? I think I remember this outfit on you but it might of been while you were still in WLM?

Yikes on the foot hon! ((hugs))

Ok, I have a solution to your psyllium oj mix:

Get some Lipton brand decaff Apple Spice Tea bags. Make a big pitcher using decaff tea bags and 2 of those bags. Then put it in the fridge. Then dissolve psyllium in a big glass of that tea. Sweeten with liquid vanilla stevia. No carbs. No cals other than the psyllium Fiber. I use whole psyllium husks too.

I actually love drinking it. :)

Oh my gosh not many know what psyllium is. My surgeon put me on it in August, and he said mix with Water or yogurt. Neither worked for me. I found Trop50 was the best way I could figure to mix it. I am going to try this tea mixture, I love the idea and not all the added calories and extra crabs from the OJ. Thank you.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
