Banded 5 and a bit years now. I had a replacement when my band was leaking earlier this year too. If I can help it, I'll be banded forever. :)

4 years and happy

I was banded for four years and then revised to the sleeve. I loved my band the first two years, but then had problems. I had it slip several times, my port flipped twice, I had erosion and even with an empty band, I couldn't keep anything but ice cream down. So, I had to revise to something that worked better with my body.

Actually, that was easy surgery. In and out of the hospital within a matter of a couple of hours and back to work the next day. So, don't let that scare you.

2 1/2 months since surgery and doing great and loving banded life! :)

Month and a week out and thrilled.

3.5 months and loving it

4+ years and no band caused problems for me. :)

3 years banded, now 3 months un-banded!

As it turned out, my body rejected the band pretty much from the beginning, I gave it a good try.

Banded July 6 06

Wt. Loss: 160 lbs

18 months post op....no issues....

it gave me back everything i thought i lost with being super morbid obese...sure things can happen (good and bad) but for now, am just rolling with it...and using the band/plication the best way i know how to get healthy....it works....this band does WORK

8.5 months……HAPPY! Best decision I ever made. I've had no complications, and have lost most of my weight. Still another 17 pounds to go, but I'm confident that I will get there.

How do you know your body rejected it from the beginning?
