  1. Shirley I hope you found out a solution to your problem. Most times you wont get all the english lessons and such. To be honest, I dont get the deal with whats going on here. The band is not always easy, no doubt about it. Hope you find some help and have a good support system that can be there for you. Take care.

concerned, yes and no, I think that healthy is 2-3 lbs a week, while others say 1-2 lbs. The problem with losing weight fast is the rebound of weight gain. Be sure your drinking a lot of fluids from keeping yourself from getting dehydrated. Be sure to eat atleast your minimum amount of calories otherwise your body will go into starvation mode and you will stop losing weight and be actually behind on your weight loss. Its a slow process but if you follow the rules you will be fine. Congrats on your weight loss, just be careful your losing it the healthy way!!! Best of luck with your continuous success, your Beautifil Chriper!!!!

So here it goes, am I being retarded, or just too sensitive. I am at work today, feeling good, and a 2 guys start making up fat jokes at my exspence. I lost 90 lbs, I am down from 305 lbs and these guys are making jokes at my expense. Anyone else go through this. Both guys are neither in great shape themselves, but damn I am looking better than ever and actually weighing less than one of them for sure, and they are making fat jokes at my expense. What the hell is up with that. they have been doing it lots lately. Whats up???? Any suggestions what a guy can do without looking like a pussy, or is that plainly too late, lol.
  4. I had to do the review too. I claimed my kms, and hotel rooms because I had to go to Winnipeg from Sask for my surg. I didnt send a letter from my doctor stating that its the closest, because its the only one that was open at that time. It will be interesting to see if they make me pay back my initial tax refund, or what they will do. Though I am ready to fight if I need too. Dirty buggers!!! CRA is so out to get everyone, they make me sooo mad. They had a lady in Regina send there receipts 6 times and explain why she had to have the surgery. They make me so mad. Okay, done ranting. I am a little nervous, but if they come after me, boy I am going right after them.
  5. I have had the lap band since Oct 27, only puked 2, and both times were due to my own insane eating. I am healthier than I have been in 10 years, lost 63 lbs, and at this moment in time would repay the full 16800 I paid for the surg in the begnning. Its not the same as a diet, as dieting was something I did for years and lost and regained the lbs lost, this is a lifestyle change that partly forces you to work at it, but its not always easy and its not for someone who really is not 100% open to change. Its a tool, as you will hear a million times, not a miracle. I am glad I did it, for myself, my family and friends. This is coming from a Canadian who has spent the money and is not rich. But happily skinnier and skinnier every day. best of wishes to you.
  6. I dont know about you guys out there, but I know that every Birthday and New Years, I say to myself, and this has been the past 20 years, that by next year at this time, I am going to be skinny and healthy. Well as I had surgery in Oct, of course I am not skinny nor perfect health, but, and this is a big BUT, I will be next year. I will lose a lot of weight this year and be in the best shape I can be. I payed the money, dealt with some issues, and now as I stride in to 2010, I am going to do it. Wake up and in 20 years its not going to be just words. Its happening, and damn am I excited!!!! Happy New Years:w00t:

My mom does not know of the surgery as I did not share with her that news, however if I did she would be the same, I think thats mothers, protective.

Thanks all, I have a 10cc band, I think the doctors are o new they are scared to put in too much. I spoke to the coordinator and she apologized for the issues I had, which was nice to hear. I did find a new doc, so hopefully it goes better. Thanks for your replies

Okay I understand, "Take it Slow" But what the hell do you do when you drive 6 hours and get a 1cc fill. I was so ripped off, I am ranting and raving. can someone tell me what my doctor is thinking? I was asked 2 questions; 1. Are you still hungry and can you feel the band? yes and no feeling of the band being there now. 2. Do you have heartburn? No then he started to tell me how they like to start out slow. i am very upset!!! What to do? Oh, and 0 bedside manner on his behalf after asking what my name was after giving me a fill.

  12. this is great news!!! I went to Maples for surgery too and I dont know if I am whiney or what but the aftercare I received was horrible. They never answer any of my few questions, like 3 in total, they make me wait an hour to see them for 5 minutes and I have been nothing but polite and kind. My first fill was a joke, no one has heard of such a small tiny fill in the chatrooms. I am frusterated with them and hope to get fills here is Saskatchewan. The only thing nice is Jennifer. If and when I do talk to her its always a pleasure, but I feel I gave them a lot of money and hoped for a bit of afterCARE. Sorry hope I dont make anyone mad for writing it. Good New for Sask!!!!

what kind of pain was it? I feel pain whenever I eat, like a soreness at my band site and I am always wondering if its normal
  14. I am able to eat anything and everything in high quantities, the only thing stopping me is will power, which I was very low on. Then woke up two days ago with restriction and the inability of eating more than a cup of food at a time without pain. What gives? Anyone have an answer to this strange occurance? Is it strange?:cool2:

I get some inspiration from the Biggest Loser, love the show, and I feel like I am on track again, somehow over night gained restriction, go figure. Doing well and trying to keep in control, thanks for the encouragement.

Thanks Rottie, I needed to hear that, Its funny you know all this already and yet the brain really screws with you.I feel like I am gaining and a lot more than just 3 pounds. I feel very scared, I actually ate 4 cookies today, I have o restriction and if I couldnt feel my port I would think my surgeons screwed with me, and stuck an elastic band in there. Anyway thanks for the support, i need to hear I am not the only one right now. I cant wait for that first fill. good luck to you!!!

Thanks Sapphire, I know I should be able to do it, its really hard, but I am trying my best. Thanks for your comments, I really appreciate the support.
  25. I have been banded since Oct 27, 09 and I have to say that the weight loss was going great, a nice 40lb down and then...... I lost all restriction, no pain except for in the brain. I have gained abouy 2lbs and depressed, because I am back at eating like a horse, eating anything thats put in front of me. I notice I am getting down, and yet I know that this is normal, there are posts out there that say this exact thing, but holy hell does the mind really play with you. The idea that this is not a magic pill has set in after the weight all of a sudden quit dropping and its a little depressing. My surgery place will not email me back when I ask questions. i really am questioning life after banding. God knows I am being a suck!!!:mad2:
