Well I can tell you from experience, sugar is my enemy. If I eat one cookie the result will be 20 Cookies. It's my trigger that I must stay away from. I know this and I cant have it period because I have no control over sweets. I do believe that people can definitely be addicted to certain foods.

I would imagine anything you touch that can get into your skin you would have to change. I know that diet changes help but if you want to be totally free you have to change everything. Sort of like wls. Your whole life changes.

Its not only about diet change to be gluten free you also have to change your soaps, shampoos, lotions, laundry detergents and many other products. It is just not food.

I agree totally. I don't want my band to be so tight I can't eat anything worth eating. I still love food and want to enjoy at least what I can eat.

I concur you should call your doctor. He will or his office will let you know what they consider full liquids. Hospitals vary on their diet menus.

The only issue I have with this practice is what happens when your filled completely and can no longer get fills. I am almost three years out and need my band the rest of my life. I have 3 cc's and yes I have to do some of the work myself but I am not in any hurry to get this thing filled up and then have nothing to use.

The brunt of your protein should be coming from food form not protein shakes. You would be better off eating a whole chicken after a work out then drinking a protein shake. Liquid calories should be stopped at least by six months post op. Get your protein from other sources besides shakes. I found when I eat more meat the scale moves. Im averaging 4lbs a week now that my doctor changed my diet and my skin is going back in shape nicely

Everyone thinks tight is a good thing but its not. If you over eat the food has no where to go but up into the esophagus. I only have 3 cc's in a 10cc band havent had a fill in over a year and am still slowly losing. This wil make my third year being banded in December. Just because we have the band doesnt mean the lower portion of the stomach is not working. It is very much working and if its not getting any food you will not be satisfied and always feel hungry.

At this point you have to be in control of your hunger. Go to gnc get some hoodia take it 30 minutes before you eat. It takes about a week to get into your system. You just have to try to not think about food at this point and feeling hungry isnt all that bad. How long has it been since you have actually felt that feeling of true hunger? I love feeling hungry even after two years. Then I know its really time to eat and not because I just want too

Its called post surgical depression. A lot of people get it and it will go away. You are now faced with what we never thought we would have too and that is to live life without food. Food for comfort, food just because, food for every occasion but just remember when you have lost the weight all those feelings will turn in to happiness. To the above poster my hunger never went away. Everyone is different.

Its not uncommon for some people to gain a little weight back. You just have to work that much harder to get it off. As far as the skin I dont know what you can do to make it smaller because all of us were so stretched out that it is hard for the skin to go back in.

First of all dont let your husband bully you it seems he is getting jealous maybe after he sees how well you have done he will consider having weight loss surgery. Secondly your not going to die and if all he is worried about is your insurance being paid up then I would rethink that situation. Thirdly weight loss is slow with the band and you wont look sickly. I went back to work 3 weeks post op and was lifting quite a bit of weight. Stop letting your husband bully you. He is probably afraid that once you lose the weight you will leave him.

You are NOT supposed to take iron unless you are deficient in it. Excessive iron stores in your body especially for men can cause a cardiac arrest. Just take a multi vitamin and it should be enough unless they find you are deficient in a vitamin. Most of the protein shakes are loaded with vitamins.

People WTH you are not supposed to be vomiting ever. You think that its normal and its okay really???? People with the lapband are NEVER supposed to throw up and if you are then you need to get some unfill or tell your doctor that you are throwing up. You are putting yourself at risk for a slipped band. It is not normal to throw up and not normal not to be able to swallow water. You should be able to eat without issues and if you are having issues especially vomiting that is not normal. SMDH

Ummmm no one is the lapband police but if your vomiting every single day then that is not normal. Yes on occassion and that should be rarely if something gets stuck it may come back up but you should not be vomiting everyday ever and if you are then you need to talk to your doctor. Whom ever thinks it is normal then you need to tell your doctor that your vomiting every single day and see what he says I am sure he will not be happy about that.
