What ya eating tonight?

I had a small sweet potato, with a tablespoon of i cant believe its butter,

And i boiled a boneless skinless chicken breast. With salt and pepper, curry, garlic powder and some soul food seasoning. After it cooked i put a tablespoon of BBQ sauce to the side so the bites of chicken wouldnt be to dry,

All was good, filled up quick even tho i was slow eating

Taco night! Made with ground chicken spiced with cumin and chili powder and mixed with salsa, wrapped in a romaine lettuce leaf instead of a tortilla, avocado, tomatoes, onions, low fat cheese and a tablespoon of plain Greek yogurt.

Lisa that DOES sound amazing! I've had "taco" night a couple times, aka just the filling, but can't wait for lettuce wraps!

The filling is a weight watchers recipe that I've used for years. I brown ground chicken in a nonstick pan with a chopped onion and a few cloves of garlic, seasoned with salt, pepper, cumin and chili powder. Once browned add a jar of your favorite salsa. It is about 80 calories for 1/4 cup and its so yummy. I had I/4 cup in a lettuce leaf with chopped tomatoes, avocados, 1 Tb reduced fat cheese and 1 Tb of plain nonfat Greek yogurt. I also had 1/4 cup of vegetarian refried beans with 1 Tb reduced fat cheese and 1 Tb of the yogurt. 199 calories, 20 grams of protein.

Grits and an over easy egg! I wanted something warm that wasn't soup! I want tacos now after reading this. Hah :)

So far my favorite meal was a Lean Cuisine Turkey with mashed pot and gravy. I tried the meatloaf dinner but the meat was too chewy...the darn thing lasted me 3 meals though!! Hey, at least we are cheap dates! LOL :)

Anyone have a meat loaf recipe without using ketchup?

Try using plain canned tomato sauce. I still use a little ketchup in mine though.

You ladies are brave!! I still haven't had anything crunchy like chips or crackers or any kind of starchy thing. I think they may be my triggers any way so don't miss them lol I did but some seaweed chips for next week and some edamame I'm going to roast- one more day on soft foods! But honestly, I don't think my eating will change much for the next few months. I mostly eat a shake for breakfast, an ounce of shaved deli meat and slice of reduced fat cheese for lunch, same for snack... And well usually the same for dinner lol I don't see how I could get my 60g of protein and 60 oz of water in if I ate anything else lol Any advice?? I'm a month out tomorrow. I'd love to have one or two crackers or a whole wheat tortilla one day lol also how much fat/ day does your doc advise? I eat a lot of cheese lol even if it's reduce fat it's not fat free ;)

If I didn't start each day with 1/2 a shake and finish it in the afternoon there is no way I would come close to getting my Protein in. I'm staying clear of starch and carbs because that is how I wound up being big in the first place. I like the boca burgers with 15g of protein or the morning star sausage has 10g. They are meatless, but I like them.

Heinz makes a low sugar ketchup. Walmart, Super Target & local grocery stores have it.
