Daniel Boone Inn - ate there for Breakfast once but surely couldn't do it now lol
  3. I've lost over 60 lbs in almost 3 months and the compliments are rolling in. It really makes me uncomfortable. I know we're just supposed to say "thank you" and move on but in my head, it's not always that easy. I know I looked much more unhealthy before but no one pointed that out (to my face). Now I get compliments daily and the nosey "how much have you lost?", "what do you eat?", etc. questions. People that never/rarely talked to me before are now chatting it up like we're besties. How do you cope with these comments? Are you ok with this? Any suggestions on how to get the head on board with the compliments? Sometimes I look in the mirror and see the same body as before 11/27 BUT my clothes are definitely smaller. Today I put on a top that I thought would be too small and it was perfect. I guess it takes some time for the mind's eye to catch up with reality. When I was bigger, I didn't believe I was "that big" so I guess it goes both ways. Thanks for listening.

Nuke it for about 10 secs. Makes the apple one tast like apple pie. Sometimes I sprinkle a tad of apple pie spice before heating. Makes it a little softer too.

    Fitbit?

I have the Zip and my only problem is keeping up with it. I forgot it today & have actually washed it once. I like how it syncs up with My Fitness Pal but did turn off the negative offset setting. I like seeing how many steps I get in a day.

I had my surgery November 27 and as of today, I have lost 100.5 lbs so less than 20 to go. I don't eat simple carbs like pasta, rice, potatoes and my bread is usually limited to a piece of whole wheat toast on weekends & Mission low carb wheat fajita wraps. My lab tests were great - B12 was higher than normal range & I've never supplemented that. Just take Optisource vitamins & vit D. Calcium was good probably because I eat low fat cheese, Greek yogurt & milk daily. I found a great treat that has 12 gms of protein (soy isolate) - Kay's Naturals cinnamon almond protein cookie bites. They're so good & only 125 calories for the bag. I go to the gym at least 6 days a week & love it. I'm so glad I had this surgery even though I have some skin floppiness. Have to wait at least a year or two for any plastics though since they won't do anything so soon after surgery. How is everyone else doing?

An Einstein bagel slathered with cream cheese for me! Miss those but feel too good to even go down that road again.

I ADORE CHIKE!! I couldn't have gotten this far without it. 6 1/2 months out, down 95 lbs, 25 to goal. I'm so grateful that they make a great tasting vanilla.
  11. Here's some things I'm looking forward to after surgery. Please add yours too! Buying clothes that don't have an X or W in the size Not stressing about seatbelts on airplanes Crossing my legs!! Buying cute bras and matching panties Not struggling to get socks and undies on Working out at gym like i used to Participating in 5K (or more) again Not huffing and puffing from car to work Seeing my neck again Painting my own toenails (well I do like a good pedi but to have the option to do it myself would be nice) No longer unintentionally knocking things off the table, etc. with my butt Feeling good!

    Doing a 5K..whaaaat?

I hope you had a colorful time! I was at Color My Run in Charlotte this morning as a volunteer. What a blast to splash the runners with color! I will run in The Color Run in the fall but also want to do The Electric Run in July. It's at night & everyone is neon. 6 months ago I wouldn't have even entertained the idea of participating.

Mother's Finest "Dis Go Dis Way, Dis Go That Way" gets me going when I'm sinking during the middle of cardio. The Groove Line by Heatwave is good and A Little Less Conversation or Viva Las Vegas by Elvis actually have good beats, C+C Music Factory Gonna Make You Sweat works for me as does Nine Inch Nails The Hand That Feeds. Livin' La Vida Loca by Ricky Martin and the 2 LMFAO songs from last year.If you are a GNR fan, Welcome the Jungle is good. Venus by Bananarama + some Lnkn Park and Red Hot Chili Peppers. I can't just name one because it takes having them all on shuffle to get me through a cardio workout. I have about 180 songs on the playlist so I don't get repeats too often. I'm glad you brought this up; I like to hear what others like to listen to.

    Fitbit

I have the FItbit Zip and find it to be a glorified pedometer. The more expensive one will monitor your sleep but I don't know if you have to wear it to bed or not. I won it in a drawing so I didn't spend anything for it. I accidentally washed it but it survived to my surprise. I use My Fitness Pal and it does sync up with that but I never get any kind of adjustment with it because my exercise overrules any of the Zip's measurements. I never meet the goal of 10,000 steps because I sit at a desk most of the day. I wear it to the gym but still don't get to 10,000. I finally figured out I could reset that goal to something more attainable. Keeping up with it and keeping it away from the cat when not wearing it are the biggest challenges in using it. Would I pay for it? I don't think so but others may be bigger fans of it than me.I think there are some iPhone apps that will do pretty much the same thing for a whole lot less.

    50's

To echo what Sky said, it just depends. I turned 50 in Dec, surgery was 11/27 & I've lost 85 lbs. I have 35 lbs to go. I was pretty lazy about exercise for the first few months & have recently amped up my gym time. My biggest issue is flappy skin. Not sure how that's all going to work out at my age.

    I wanna know stories!

Best part of my surgery day was the drug they gave me to relax. I was so nervous until then. As soon as you get your IV, you can get the versed or whatever your anesthesiologist or surgeon orders. The Lovenox shot hurt a bit. Went to OR & next thing I knew, I was in recovery getting more drugs & my Cpap machine hooked up. I never needed pain medicine again once I left recovery. Gas was uncomfortable but not intolerable. Went home the next day. Would do it all over again & earlier in life too. Good luck to all with upcoming surgery.

Crab legs. It's the only reason for going to Hooter's with my bf lol. great protein & pouch loves crab better than anything else.

    OhYeah! Nutritional Shakes

I've seen them at convenience stores & nutrition stores. I tried vanilla preop but wasn't crazy about it but that was before I got adjusted to the new way of eating. Wish there was a hot dog protein shake lol. My pouch hates hot dogs & I loved them soo much.
