You Know You're A Sleever When...

Recommended Posts

With each day that passes since my surgery on 8/1, I'm realizing that my life really, really, really is changing! Today i giggled at myself as I reflected on a few of the changes. Please feel free to join in!

You know you're a sleever when...

1. You look forward to eating your Gummy vitimins because it's almost like eating candy

2. You walk through the grocery store and nothing looks appealing

3. You get to the check-out at the grocery store and the only thing in your cart is Protein.< /p>

3. You can't find anything in your closet that fits and this makes you SMILE :Ds

4. You're thirsty but you can't drink because if you do you will have to wait 10 more minutes for lunch

5. You're panties don't slide down below your muffin top anymore

HAHAHA!!! What a crazy ride the last 20 days have been.

1. You order an appetizer portion of anything AND still need a "go" container.

2. You sometimes forget to eat because you're just not hungry any more.

3. You can handicap Protein Bars based on calorie count, carbs, and grams of Protein.< /p>

4. You know it's time to stop eating when your nose starts running, you sneeze, or some other really strange signal.

6. You're only eating 500 cals a day.

7. Sometimes you only eat Soup throughout the day.

8. You're addicted to your scale, and you giggle a little every time you step on it.

9. You ACTUALLY know what the meaning of VSG is.

10. You log your entire life onto MyFitenessPal every day.

WHEN:

...you're at a birthday celebration and even though you are the one slicing the cake for everyone, you don't want or eat any of it!

...you feel like a lion or tiger on the hunt or something because all you do is eat meat/protein.

...the scale you previously never owned, is now something you do morning, noon, and night. If it goes up, you have to restrain yourself from tossing it through the window.

...when you're in a nasty stall, you accuse your surgeon of being inept, and removing the wrong organ.

- you know you'rs a sleever when your dishwasher or sink is full of the littlest plates and utensils they make...

-... When you've every possible way of making "pizza"'without actual bread...

....you load your plate because you're ravenously hungry (it CAN happen;) ), only to take a few bites and declare how full you are and are nauseated by the site of the remaining food....

You look at the menu and decide what to order by what is the SMALLEST entree rather than the way you used to looking for the LARGEST entree.

You have little packs of nuts stored in your car, desk, purse and moms house, in case you get hungry and need a quick meal.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
