Dr. Stowers focuses on the minimally invasive, laparoscopic approach to bariatric surgery, which involves fewer risks of complication than traditional surgical techniques, as well as a quicker recovery process.

Dr. Stowers completed his residency in general surgery at the Dallas / Fort Worth Medical Center, ultimately serving as Chief Resident from 1991 to 1992.
