Last night I went to the Big & Rich concert at the Corn Palace here in Mitchell, SD. Myself and another "big" gal I work with took 2 people in wheelchairs. We got front row seats! We were within touching distance from the stage and the group! What an awesome show! They made everyone feel special! After the show we slipped out a side door. Well, after just a smiggen over 2 wks of waiting for approval, I found out today that I have been approved for the lapband! I was just shocked! Last year after getting all of the testing done, I tried for approval of the lapband. Denied. The insurance covered RNY only at the time. Then I found out that BC/BS Carefirst had changed from 'experimental' to covering it, with my policy! All the testing I did late last year, was good for a year, but not after that time frame. They even gave me a surgery date! However, it was a date that wasn't good for my division/group/supervisor. We are doing year end stuff from where I work. Well it is 1 week today post op... I am doing pretty good,,, Since 8/16 when I started the Optifast I have gone from 226.5 to 210.5 by my scale.. 8 of those are post "hitchhiker",,, Sometimes I am soooo hungry- I guess in my head, but If I get enough Water in I am pretty good feeling... I started getting nausea spells Saturday morning... I Gag and try "not on Purpose" to throw up the Chewable pre-natal Vitamins... It is soo hard taking them.. OK, tomorrow is my "band" day,, now I am getting nervous.. Not about getting the band, but I really freak out with the IV- getting it put in.. Any time I have needed one they can never get it on the first try and they usually have to have an actual IV nurse do it.. And many times my veins have so called Collapsed and they had to do another one or didnt realize that it had done it and I get a big egg of Water and bruising.... Once I check in to the Hospital I wont get to have my Fiance with me until just before I go back for surgery, and they want you there several hours before.. I just wanted to know if anyone with Pacificare (HMO) has had the lap band surgery approved through this insurance. I called them and was told that only the RNY and the vertical banding are covered. I was just wondering if anyone has been successful in having them cover the band even though they say they do not.

Maybe this is what happens to women when we have a mid-life crisis. Maybe I've been in the middle of a mid-life crisis for years and was once again the only one who didn't see it. I realized last night that I am out of place. That I don't "fit" any place in the physical world. I dont' fell like I have anything in common with women my age. I don't know many women my age agonizing over their calc homework... And I don't have alot in common with the boys in my program. I was trying to get into a Hall Monitor position and I was to fill this one spot that was going to be great...the times worked perfectly for my son....7:00-1:30....When the job was posted, the Vice Principal of the school almost had me assured that the position was mine. I water skied!!! It had been 10 years since I’ve gotten up on skis; I made an attempt 3 months ago with no avail. Then yesterday I got up on double skis on my second try and again on the next try. I think I skied for a total of 300 ft. but it felt like a mile. I still can’t believe I did it.

I was walking into my house yesterday and looked at my gingko tree and saw this squirrel that had a HUGE green walnut in it's mouth. I ran inside and grabbed my camera and tried to get a pic. It jumped out of the gingko tree and ran up the palm tree. I followed and got this pic. Isn't it cute?

OK since I am getting bummed not being able to go to the Vegas Bash and just finding out that my sister and Mother are flying out there next week.. Trying to see if my sister will take the clothes for the exchange.. Who will be attending the Harley Bash??? Labor Day weekend

I am in the process of studying for my first CLEP (one in a series of them). Anyone ever take them? I wondered about test length, difficulty, etc. I am a good student and so far have not found anything in the study guide that made me confused--it seems like the task is really memorizing the key words -- Any comments appreciated.
