Anyone Out There Have Pacificare (HMO)?

I just wanted to know if anyone with Pacificare (HMO) has had the lap band surgery approved through this insurance. I called them and was told that only the RNY and the vertical banding are covered. I was just wondering if anyone has been successful in having them cover the band even though they say they do not.

Jack, thanx so much for the info. you've provided. I've been told by the insurance co. as well as Don Mills that I could have the surgeon recommend that I have the lap band and it is possible that it could be covered, but who knows? At this point I have not been able to get any other info. from the ins. co. concerning the lap band. They only cover RNY and vertcal banding. I am so confused, because if I can't get the lap band, then I will not be able to have weight loss surgery, because I am not big on all of the risks that are involved with RNY. If you have access to anyone else that I can speak to in Pacificare, please let me know. Thanx!
