I have lots of things to share on this thread, but I wanted to start it so we could ALL share our childhood Halloween traditions. Even though Mike and I grew up in different parts of the country, our Halloween memories are similear. Groups of neighborhood kids dressed up in fun stuff (not really scary) and walked door to door laughing, tripping on each others costumes and eating the handouts along the way... and the parents that were designated to walk with us carried the flashlights. Help! I can't figure out my VCR and I really want to tape the Today Show. One of my Slumber Parties sisters is going to be on Friday's Today Show! This is so exciting for me, but I can't even watch it because I have to work. I was told it's supposed to be a HOOT of a show, lots of giggling. Ok I am officially a slow loser. I could most likely be on the 100 + losing group by now but I took the slow weigh (pun intended) out. But I think I still look damn good for having lost 60 lbs so far. Just biding my time till those BIG numbers fall off. I am still struggling but hey life is a struggle RIGHT? I can't believe how far I have come since being banded. My cholesterol went from 220 to 180. Blood pressure is lower than it ever has been and I am off medications. SHe will have to repeat all the same tests that we did today and then hopefully we will do it then. Hopefully she will be able to get and stay healthy till then. We discussed long term antibiotic use till then- which they want to (I agree - but we need to find something she is not allergic to) She also has decided that eating is for the birds- I hope that it is just his antibiotic and when it is over her appetite will return- but I am concerned. Just want to let you know that if you register onto Avenue (clothing) website they immediately send you a coupon, just print it out. Even if you don't wear the clothes, they have socks, tights, purses and Cloud Walker shoes, which are very comfortable. No I don't work for them, LOL. There is nothing like a good sale or coupon.

For those of you that were around 5 months ago, you might remember my problems with Jeter. The time came. Jeter died at 3:10pm today. It was a peaceful silent death and I held him as we helped him die at the vet's office. This is breaking my heart as I feel as if I have lost a piece of me. I know he lives on forever in my heart but I miss him terribly. The friendship, the love, the trust and the strength of him amazes me. As y'all know, I'm taking horseback riding for my PE class this semester. I am still really unsure of myself around these big beasts, but I'm getting better. Yesterday, I had a wardrobe malfunction! When I dismounting one of the horses, my bra got caught on the pommel an I was stuck! I'm standing on the tippy toes of my new cowboy boots because the horse is tall, I am not, and I'm trapped by my bra! My mom has a knack for sending me emails at just the right time when I am down or need a lift. I was and have been lately very frustrated about my slow weight loss. I was banded on the 20th and I have this pain that is about one inch to the left of my belly button. There is no incision there. It hurts like hell when I stand up, pull my self up from a lying position, cough, bend over, etc.... Has anyone else had this problem? Is it my port? Jolynn

As y'all know, I enrolled in a basic horsemanship class this semester. The first class was one week after I was banded! Yikes! My youngest daughter just got married this past June of 2004. My son in law Jeremy is like a son to me. His brother, Jacob 19 has a beautiful girlfriend named Amber also 19. I received new this morning that Amber was in a car wreck last night and was killed instantly. Hi everyone. Well I got banded on the 20th in Bismarck, N.D. I stayed a few extra days at a motel just to make sure everything was going to be ok before heading the 4 hours home. Got here last night. I have lots of pressure in my shoulders and chest area. My doctor put in a 10cc band and filled it with 3cc. I have lots of restriction right now. My stomach is still very sore, but getting a little better every day. Lots of girgling and rumbling going on in my stomach. FOr the most part everything went good. Why is it GOOD to push past the pain when we're lifting weights but BAD to push past the pain when we're eating? Isn't the stomach a muscle that needs exercise to keep strong and healthy?
