fun thread -- names

The morning radio show I listen to in the mornings had an interesting topic yesterday. They were talking about last names, and if anyone does what their name says. You know, if anyone named Baker was a baker or things like that.

I thought that would make a fun topic here, so here goes.

My last name is Webb, and I spin as one of my many hobbies. Spin as in spinning wool, not the bike thing. Also, I work with the internet and networks, so that cracks me up too.

My younger sister changed her name when she got married, so she went from being a Webb to an Earl (some people pronounce URL as Earl)...

The CO of my ex-H's Navy Squadron was named Cosmos. Yup, Captian Cosmos. that is one of my all time favorite name.s

My last name is Wynne (pronounced "win", though most people guess wine or whiny). I guess that means I'm a winner. :)

Ok I have a couple - we have a local foot doctor whose name is Richard Hacker - Why would someone do that to a child???

Also there is a company in Coldwater, MI that goes by the name of Frost Byte owned by none other than Richard Frost - I bet he is having fun!

This is great - havn't laughed this much in a long time.

Thanks,

HA HA HA I went to EMT school in Colubus, GA. My instructor's name was Nate Bader. He was a Master Paramedic. When we had clinicals we had to formally address him as Master Bader. SO NOT KIDDING!! I remember hollering across the ER for MASTER BADER!

I still see the patients reactions to hearing us call out his name!

picking myself up off the floor from laughing so hard.

My last name is Warren. I dont honestly know what it means-i used to but i kinda....forgot: When i get married it will be Twining.

My last name is Wynne (pronounced "win", though most people guess wine or whiny). I guess that means I'm a winner. :)

So... when someone goes for teh wynne it has a whole different meaning....

My older sister was being teased by some kid when they were little. My sister's last name was Howell, and this mean little girl would literally howell at my sister every time she saw her, or wanted to tease her. My mom asked what the big meanie's name was. It was.... Wolfe.

This is a hilarious thread!

Suddenly, I don't feel so bad about marrying a guy with the last name of Tweedy (from the Scottish folk settled by the river Tweed). Poor guy, he got into soooo many fights. My poor (future) children...

My last name is Lindsay . . . As in what did lynn say? Or maybe what did Lynn See?

How do you get those cool scales at the bottom of many of your posts?

My obgyn is Dr. Bush, no lie, he is great and I love him but his name cracks me up. I used to see a foot doctor names Dr. Beaver, my very coothful husband asked him if he went into the wrong type of medicine. Funny huh? The very old doc didn't get it but hubby laughed all weekend. ~Mandy

P.S. Dick Trickle got his start at a race track not far from my house, and before the track closed down last year they had Dick Trickle days, too funny.
