I was thinking this morning about a product I use most every day and how it's just the best in its class. It's not much - just a shave cream - but it's the BEST EVER. I shave my head now-a-days, and when I started, I switched from an electric razor to a blade and cream. The shave cream is far superior to anything I had used in the past. I bought a bottle for a coworker of mine for his birthday, because I was so sure he'd like it. Now he's a big fan too. It's called Billy Jealousy Hydroplane Super Slick Shave Cream. If you use a razor, you owe it to yourself to try it. I go against the grain with it on my neck with no irritation, and I rarely get nicks now. If yo…

Saw these when shopping today. Spanx tops for men. Looks like a typical Under Armor compression shirt, but then I thought of the brand (Spanx) and remember my wife using some of those undies to help with the muffin top thing and started thinking. I'm down 95lbs (started 333, now 340-ish), and have a little bit of the muffin top myself, but also the man boobage is there a little. Something I think a "spanx" would be aimed at helping. If that's the case, does anyone know if one of these things are the same as the Under Armor compression shirts, or if you're familiar with Academy and their BCG line of clothes which has the same thing I think. Wouldn't mind having a coup…

.......edit, ..... took out links to these things, what a flippin gimmick, they hardly work after all. I would say you get a bit of nic using one though and it is a tool for comfort for a while but I am not interesting in the long term in this crud........ I guess it won't hurt with out nic in one, I bought 2 dispossables, one has low nic and one has zero. Unfortunatley after the fact, I learned I got a crappy brand and went to find better, so far I came up with 3 dispossables and 2 next size mini type things with a charger at least. Want the 2 crapola ones to see if it at least suites me and then I'll buy better next thing cheap as a start. Thanks, if you Vape, p…

Had my surgery on Nov.2. I was out today winterizing my 4 wheelers & my bikes. One of the bikes had a dead batt. So I had to move it to reach the electrical cord. It was a small bike a liitle over 500 lbs & it whipped my butt. I use to move it around like nothing is normal to feel this weak? I'm not use to this.

I started off around 456 lbs, highest weight as i started my preop diet...Sleeved on 10/15. As of today I'm 371... Down around 80 lbs.... 1.) all of my clothes are baggy.... I buy something and can wear it once.... Before it doesn't look right.... Not sure what to do. Would appreciate any clothing advice. 2.)emotionally I feel like a basket case... I over worry about any slight pain, I seem hyper sensitive to compliments or criticism.... If I were a woman I'd say I was pmsing 24/7. What is wrong with me??? 3.) any recommendations on starting a workout routine? P90X is way too hard... Do they make a P90A for beginners! Lol Thanks for listening to me…

Hi All its 3 1/2 years since I have been banded and 1 year since my body lift. And I am really pleased with the results, I never though I would have abs and kind of that " V " that everyone strives for. But I need some help to see if I am just fooling myself and eating too much or If I really OK and should accept myself where I am. Its really frustrating. My top weight was 330 - 335 in High School. Today I'm 240. i was 245 1 Year ago the morning of my body lift. I am almost 6' 1" I did get to 233 a few months after my body lift when I was recovering. I have been around around this 240 Mark now for a few years! And don't know what I can do to get to my…

Wow what a journey that has lead me to this vary day. So many things are rushing through my head. I'm very excited and very nervous at the same time. This is my first surgery, Im afraid of the pain, the catheter, the whole process. I am so excited to finally be on my way. So excited about the future. I can finally fit in an airline seat, carnival ride, I can go kayaking, backpacking, many many things. I don't know why I didn't do this sooner. Will this surgery change me not only physically but mentally as well? Will I be the same person? Wish I could see into the future. See you on the flip side.....

Tell a true story of some time when you were scared sh!tless by something spooky or unexplained. When we were kids my bro and I used to stay up late Saturday night watching monster movies on a UHF channel. We laid in the bottom bunk (mine) under the covers in our creepy old house. The normal short movies were drug on by hours with commercials seemingly every 5 minutes. All were proceeded with a hokey segue that flashed a two tone picture of a monster and an announcer saying something like "The wolfman is howling mad..." or "Frankenstein is coming to get you..." followed by a maniacal laugh. We were bleary eyed and hardly able to keep awake when one more of these stup…

Ok - I know a lot of you are probably "tough guys" but I'll admit - post-op day one scares me where the pain's concerned. So can you guys HONESTLY weigh in on how bad the first few days are on a scale of 1-10: 1 being "didn't feel a thing - literally" and 10 being - "worst thing you could possibly imagine." I've never had surgery so a little nervous about what to expect.... If you could break it down by the first couple of days that'd be great - for example: Day 1 post-op: 7, Day 2 post-op: 5, etc.

I checked in to a local hotel, am watching the 49ers game, and just drank the bowel cleansing liquid (yuck). I have been telling myself that on October 15th I have a scheduled car accident.... When it's over,I'll recover and have a new set of restrictions to live with.... But for the first time in years, I will truly LIVE! I am getting more nervous by the minute.... Worried about complications..... High blood pressure, and this may sound silly, but being naked on the operating table. I am fidgety and even though my wife is here with me, I feel an odd sense of aloneness. I know I am doing the right thing, I just am so worried about the pain.... I've been re…

Let me preface this by saying I don't work at Men's Wearhouse. And I don't know anyone that works there. And I don't own any stock (that I know of, unless it's rolled into some mutual fund or something). Business clothes are expensive, so I figured I'd pass on that Men's Wearhouse has a buy one get one sale going on: http://www.menswearh...er-_-Seedetails Since dropping the weight I needed some new clothes for work and a wedding. Good time to save some $ and pick up suits or shirts if you need them.

Hey guys, So just a little bit about me first. I was banded on 1/25/2012 and tiped the scale at 327lbs. And as of this mornin the sale reads a lighter 262lbs. I couldnt be any more happier with my scale goals. But, it's the non-scale goals that I have been judging my success. Before I was banded I made a list of things I wanted to do when the pounds start shedding off. As of 2 weeks ago I have managed to acheve the top four on my list. In number four was to get up on on a surf board. Three, participate in a relay "hood to coast". Two get up on water skies. And in number one after many years of failed atempts, a wake board. And so now I need suggestions for more non-scal…

I am typing this for my husband, so please be patient while I try to explain his concerns. He was sleeved on 8/23. His pre-op weight was 530 and lost 13 pounds prior to surgery. He is now down a total of 60.8 pounds. He has only lost a pound or two in the last week. He weighs daily which I think is a huge mistake. I am trying to convince him to stop doing that. When he decided that he was going to go through with the surgery one of the benefits was supposed to be that the "thing" that causes him to get hungry would be removed. It doesn't seem that that has happened. He is hungry all the time, and when he does eat his stomach rolls and grumbles and he is in pain.…

Guys, I've read several general threads as it relates to hair loss and it seems that most of the info is coming from women. So now I need some input from the guys. Here's my perspective: Hair is very short as I keep it buzzed with a #3 clipper and it's pretty thin on top. Luckily every where else is pretty good, just the top has thinned out. How has hair loss effected you, assuming you have short hair too? I've read other people say cutting it short will hide some of the loss, but I can do very little cutting. So, what say you?

How long did anyone wait after surgery to start playing. I'm almost 6 weeks post op and have the itch to play. But i'm afraid the twisting motion of the mid section will aggrevate the incisions. Especially the one on the left side.

Just had my surgery 5/24 and I am already down 95lbs. Had some back problems that put me on the sideline for about 3 weeks. Didn't realize that that would happen. But with the decreased weight my compressed disc, of which I didn't know about, started acting up. Now I have gone through decompression for the last 2 weeks and now feel great. What type of exercise should I start doing? Thought about buying a bike. I started out at 427 and I am down to 332. What do you guys think?

Something strange happened tonight. I sitting here reading and I have an itch on my chest. I go to scratch it and something feels weird. Like not quite what my hand was expecting. After a minute I figure it out.....my man boobs are gone. WTH??? My wife said she noticed several weeks ago. She says they've been replaced by something called pecs. They are firm and flat and right where my man boobs used to be. Any of you other guys have this.....side effect? My Dr. Didn't warn me about this.

Hi blokes! Sorry for the intrusion but I thought this might be the best place for this because it was written by a bloke I adopted my beautiful dog Rosie from a lovely lady named Joanne and it turns out she is the sister in law of Mel Gibson- that is, she's married to Chris Gibson. Anyway she gave me a copy of his autobiography and I really enjoyed it its a simple easy read but is motivating and reminds me why I'm trying a new way of doing things. Anyway he follows his own path, which I'm not necessarily into, but it may interest you or a loved one. Anyway, it's called Memoirs of a Fat Bastard How I Lost My Gut and Gained a Life By Chris Gibson Available …

Seeing as we're allowed to post off topic stuff here in the Man Room I figured I'd rant a while before I kill somebody. It all started last July. I was in a car accident in an older vehicle that didn't have an airbag. You'd think my fat belly would have saved me, but nope. I ended up kissing the steering wheel and knocking out and or shattering almost every tooth in my head. When all was said and done They were able to save 10 of my bottom teeth, the top were too far messed up so what was left were pulled so I could get a full denture on top and a partial on bottom. I was dealing with one of the major chain Dentists to get the work done. They were ready and willing to…

Hey, I was wondering... I've always wanted to get back into some weight training. Has anyone on here done any after their surgery? And if so, what have you found works for you? And do you ever use any additional supplements for your pre/post workout routine?

I wasn't sure where I wanted to post this, I originally put in the general discussions... however one of my inspirations for doing the video series was for my fellow "Big" brothers so it makes better sense to post it here. not trying to double post. http://youtu.be/jgAaBPCWSVo

Hey guys, I'm new here. Getting banded in September. What do you guys do on a "guys" night with your buddies? Usually ends up eating too much and drinking too much. How do you handle this? Do you tell your friends, or just take the "abuse" when they see you eating and drinking so little? Just wondering if anyone has any advice around this subject... Same thing when going out with another couple. I really don't want to tell anyone other than family. Do you get lots of questions when not ordering in your usual "patterns"? Thanks!

So not being able to ride yet is killing me. I'm pain free, but once in a while while in the car and hitting a bump I get some pain (damn fat moving around), so I'm staying off the bike for a while. What do you ride? Are you a garage monkey like me? Can't leave well enough alone? Here is my 2012 Road Glide. 2/1 exhaust, HD Air cleaner and cams I just installed a few weeks ago. Sounds mean with a lumpy idle now and pulls like a train.

K, so I was sleeved on Monday, August 15. The entire experience has been waaaaaaaaay easier than I expected. Much easier than what many have reported on this board, so I thought I would share my daily routine with community. Maybe it will help, maybe some replies will help me improve! I am 40 years old, was a 32 BMI, was always active, and never ate a lot of food but could never maintain any weight loss. I have lost 8 pounds since surgery (boooooyeah!) and the pre-op diet was successful so I know it's not just Water. I am still on the clear liquid stage of the post op diet. I have no problems getting enough liquids. At first I would feel a moderately painful bubble…

The past two weeks, I started running around 30-45 minutes a day. Sometimes on a tread...sometimes outside. My issue is....NIPPLE BURN!!!! I've never been a runner so this is very new to me. I have been running in cotton shirts but today I ran in my Under Armour but still had issues. Any one else have/had the issue and any suggestions?

So, this may also happen to the women, but I don't know. My torso is soooo much hairier than it was before. I was never what I would call a *hairy* guy, but rather had just the right amount. Now, being down 120 pounds, it just seems so much denser and darker. I was at the dermatologist a couple weeks ago and asked him about it. He said it is because the overall surface area has shrunk. I haven't gained any hair, it just the hairs are much closer to each other now giving that appearance. That makes sense ... Anybody else experiencing this?
